so last night i spontaneously decided to make an alphabet for the species my oc Crux comes from, so here it is, the Ailourian Alphabet, a translation to English guide! i made it to be easy to translate into English so it could be easier to learn. each letter and number was made to be able to do in one stroke and there are a few rules to how it works in the picture and underneath the read more (the same as in the picture), however for “2-letter characters” (letters at the start or end of a word followed by an A, E, I, O, U, or Y), each are done in 2 strokes: the original character and a line representing the second character

the picture has examples, using my poly dating trio of Micky, Crux, and Yun, of how the language is used in sentences (and Crux’s name, well, future name since Ailourians when married have their original last name followed by a chosen last name between then and their spouse or spouses hyphenated afterward as Crux, Micky, and Yun will chose “Nova” as their spousal name)

Punctuation is done similarly to our punctuation

There are no periods or commas

Hyphens are stops, underscores are commas

Exclamation marks are hyphens with upward lines

Question marks have hyphens thru them and no dot

Dots replace hyphens, triangles replace underscores

Apostrophes are small circles, quotation marks are squares

Slashes are the same and operate the same

As are parentheses and brackets, except angel brackets

Semicolons do not exist, but can be placed where applicable (when translating to English)

Braces also do not exist, nor do angle brackets

Brackets take angle brackets role

@ # % & * + x (division symbol) = are the same, coincidentally the same as Earth’s

Minus signs have a downward line on the left

Currency symbol is *boot-like symbol shown in picture*

No upper/lower case

2-letter characters take priority over 1-letter characters, however...

2-letter characters can only occur at the start or end of a word

AUGMENT: “AU” is 2-letter, but “ME” is not

ABSOLUTE: “TE” is 2-letter, but “SO” and “LU” are not

ROGUE: “RO” and “UE” are 2-letter

DRY: “RY” is 2-letter

DRYER: No 2-letter

drew teenage versions of Team Stardust! back then, they were “Team Domino” as Gimmick was the team leader at the time (Team Stardust in the present has no leader as no one wants to be the leader, but Gimmick thought she could be a leader back then, and she was wrong), and she and Crux were dating for a while (they amicably broke up after a few months and remained best friends). as Gimmick’s birthday is at the beginning of the year while Crux and Buster’s are much later, Gimmick would likely be 16 here while the other two are 15 (unless this would be in November, when all 3 would be 16)

they tried matching outfits and then they all just wanted to wear different things when they got older and no one could agree on matching outfits anymore

so these are my three main ocs, Crux Comet the Ailourian (telekinetic space cat species), Gimmick Domino the Fennec, and Buster Maple the Hawk, known as Team Stardust! they’re in my own Sonic AU where pretty much the world and universe are different so i don’t have to worry about new games messing with my own worldbuilding (and so if i ever wanna fully break it away from Sonic, i can), and so i don’t have to worry about them in comparison to the main cast

i do have versions of them in official Sonic canons thought up, which is basically the exact same but in an official canon and the worldbuilding condensed to a group of islands in some random part of the world, so they still count as Sonic OCs

update: i gave Crux bangs cuz i thought they looked good on cir

drew my trans guy alien cat Yun and my nonbinary alien cat Crux cosplaying as Chun-Li and Sophitia (Soul Edge outfit) respectively because i thought they’d look cute in these outfits =3 (also because it fits with Yun being from a country based on China and Crux growing up in a country based on Greece)
