HEE HEE HEE WELL. WELL! For this I want you to image Pride and Prejudice (2005). Got it? Good, now throw it away. Now imagine destiel in that same setting, but with none of the attached plot.
Dean keeps getting trotted out like a show pony at balls and galas by his father John, master of Winchester Estate, who is determined his eldest son should marry sooner rather than later. Dean finds this all deeply annoying, as does the aloof Mr. Castiel Novak who hosts many of these events, especially since his sister Anna seems to have taken a shine to the roguish Mr. Winchester. Cas plays reverse-matchmaker and does everything in his power to split up Dean and his sister, unknowingly getting in the way of Dean trying to end things with Anna himself. Cas goes to the trouble of sending flowers from his own garden to Dean, sure to select the most hostile and clearly dismissive ones he can, but Dean doesn't seem to be getting the message. Worse, Anna has now lost all interest in Dean and the flowers don't appear to have had any effect at all! Cas gets called to London on business but he can't stop thinking about the infuriating man he's spent weeks sending his own flowers to. He gets sick of waiting and sends Dean a guide to flower language, and in return gets a simple green arrangement of willow and hawthorn back (sorrow; message received). Except, the bouquets don't stop coming, and Cas starts receiving flowers every week. He returns to the countryside to find his manor garden being tended to by the usual stand in gardener when Cas is away... and Dean. And well, it would be rude to send Dean away without at least sharing a little of what Cas knows about gardening and flowers himself... right?
this is all just an excuse to make them send each other flowers and to invent a hot new way for Cas to be insanely spiteful
