The emotions of someone that you don’t know

So, I have this crush on a girl who is absolutely awesome. She’s an amazing friend, and actually talks to me of her own free will. I have had a crush on her for about three years.

Recently, every so often, the thought just pops into my head, “why doesn’t she like me back? I want her to like me back.” And I feel uncomfortable talking to friends about this (because they are also her friends) so instead I’ve put it here. If anyone found this because they were feeling sad about a similar situation, it’s not you. It’s them. They just do not like you in that way, and that’s absolutely fine. They do not have to, it does not make you a bad person, and it doesn’t mean that you have to cut them off. It just means that you get to experience a different side to them than the one you wanted, and if you try really hard you may even become friends.

Anyway, I’m feeling sad and a wee bit lonely, but you have a lovely day!! And future self, if you’ve had a look back at this, yes it’s cringey. Yes it’s a little bit stupid in retrospect, but this meant a lot to you at the time. At this time. And I hope beyond hope that you didn’t mess up a beautiful friendship for some childish crush.
