So~ Arab!Reader has been living in my head and heart for a while now so I wanna share some Reader-isms that are closer to my own cultural experience (ignore this if it's annoying btw no hard feelings whatsoever)

-Her love language is arguing, has not met a hill she wouldn't die on. will sometimes get on the table or ask him to crouch down so they can look eye to eye as she fights tooth and nail over something she stopped caring about like 10 minutes ago but she's having too much fun. calls him "your majesty" or Sultan/Sheikh sarcastically in every argument.

-He told her to just buy candles instead of burning incense that produces so much smoke since "they do the same job anyway", she reacted like he just insulted her ancestors.

-Not a drinker but has a minor coffee/tea addiction, knows every cafe nearby by heart and has a whole set up at home, loves making him try new drinks she found online or from her childhood.

-Will take a million pictures of everything and especially him, doesn't matter what's happening, it must be recorded "for our grandbabies, habibi🥺"

-Desert camping trips!! König can start the fire while she's in charge of preparing tea and coffee. she's mostly excited about finding a dune buggy to rent for a day that's actually comfortable for his size, they ride until sunset when both of them are a sand covered giggling mess. finally they get to cuddle and star gaze, keeping each other safe from the cold desert nights.

-if they ever get married this is an inevitable conversation:

"Liebe, you said we are having a small wedding"

"Mhm"

"the guest list is 600 people minimum..?"

"...yes?"

poor guy, his saving grace is that men have a very small role in weddings here, just sit, take pictures, cut cake, then leave with your bride. no need to write vows, dance, or even kiss in front of people.

-NO PDA!! hand holding is the most they do in public and even that's scandalous sometimes. he tried to kiss her hand in a shop once and she pulled it back so fast he was pouty for like two days after the fact. He learns to appreciate this though because he can clearly tell when she's feeling possessive in public when she clings to his side, loves to tease her about it; "a hand on my lower back, schatz? how indecent of you"

-Cat-calls him as he's going out of the shower but only in Arabic, so he doesn't know how to respond to the wolf-whistles and enthusiastic yelling, the only reason he's sure it's positive is that he gets his face squished soon after, he can at least make out the stretched out word 'Habiiiibiiiiiiii~" Cue flustered mess König

-calls him her Antara, one of the most famous and celebrated warriors in Arabian history, who was also a great romantic and wrote so many poems about his beloved Abla. (Antara Ibn Shaddad, if anyone is curious)

Oh god I'm going feral I’m not even kidding ❤️‍🔥💀

The arguing thing would get soooo interesting because I think that König has an anxious/disorganized attachment style so he’d try to avoid any kind of arguments and disagreements with his woman. If König can’t tame his darling, he’ll just let her have her way so that he doesn't have to suffer from the sudden tightness in his chest.

But... If she’s doing shit like climbing on the table to stare him down, König wouldn't be able to keep a straight face. He'd soon relax into the situation and then start to tease her about her temper. Corrects his posture so that he's still taller than her, and gives her a warm, knowing smile :) His Liebling is so cute when she's angry.

And lol König would be suspicious about the incense, he’s not used to that kind of stuff at all, but he’ll be damned before he says anything. Discreetly tries to open the window sometimes but closes it immediately if darling walks into the room (no use, she already saw him and he's going to get an earful).

But omg no pda??? Very hard for König but he will respect your wishes in this. You can see it in his eyes that he’s being a bit of a sad sulking puppy about it, of course it all dissipates if you put that hand on his lower back... This will be like foreplay to him, you're a forbidden fruit until you two are behind closed doors, and if you “break the rules” while he’s playing nice then whoo. Prepare to get your guts rearranged when you get home!

Still, if König can’t kiss his bride at the wedding he’ll start a war. 600 guests is negotiable, as long as he can kiss her in front of everyone and declare her as his own.

I really loved seeing a little bit of Beau on his day off, literally the cutest 🥺💟

Something I really love is the small moments they have to show how much he cares about protecting and helping people. It isn't just about the mystery or the case, at the core, it's about people. The way he got so mad that someone got stabbed, he took that personally, and that's just another reason I love him, it shows how much he's really concerned and caring about everyone. And this, this is his town now, and he's going to do everything in his power to protect its residents 🥺💘

I also loved seeing him take charge. He came in, so immediately organizing the operation, and it was a subtle thing, but how smoothly things ran, I just love seeing more of how effectively he's been running the department. Clearly, he was on his way to places before the Event™️ in Texas took place, he is incredibly good at his job 💯

Another thing that was done particularly well was the chase scene, I absolutely love how they combined an action scene, with Beau on a motorcycle, with him using his observational and investigative skills, to catch the perpetrator. I love a multitalented Sheriff 💘🥰😌👏🏻

Another thing that struck me. The moment in the bar when he says "All relationships have to be a two-way street. Even blood. Maybe especially blood." Babe- 💔😭 Please let this be the moment Beau starts to realize he doesn't have to run after people who don't care, that if they want to be his family, they have to put effort in too.

Every episode I think I love him as much as I could, and then every next episode, I love him even more ♥️ He's so kind and caring, thoughtful and funny, intelligent and competent, and the handsomest man to have ever walked on the face of this earth. That's it, it's over for the girlies. It's me, I'm girlies (but, dare one hope, it's also Jenny Hoyt?) 💘

Let's talk about Beau and Jenny this episode. I have so many thoughts and feelings!

Jenny's cute little smile when Beau called her, it was subtle but it was there and it made me so happy 🥺💕 (before she found out there was trouble 😱)

One of my favourite moments, the way Beau told Jenny that it was going to be okay is so sweet 🥺 And how he manages to make her smile when she's sick with worry says so much, as does the fact that she let her walls down enough to ask him for reassurance and comfort, even if indirectly, asked him to tell her that the deputy would be okay 💓

Their hug was so beautiful and wholesome (and also, a little bit intense 👀) 💘🥺 How he leaned down and enveloped her in his arms, his sturdy support, how she clung to him and her little smile, and how his arms stayed around her and lingered, a moment longer of support, his hand trailing down her arm before letting go 🥰😌 (as if he didn't want to let go). Let them be together already! My heart literally skipped a beat that scene, they are everything 🥺💘

These two would've just stood there holding on to each other if Madge hadn't shown up, and I just love that for them and I love that for us 🤗🤣

You know what else I want? A scene of the other police officers at the precinct like, taking bets, slipping money in the hallways, putting down money on how long before these two get together, because everyone can see there's something there 🥺💝🤣👌🏻

You guys know what the cutest thing is? How ever since Beau has been in the picture, his vocab rubbed off on Jenny, and now she calls the deputy "Pop" too ☺️

Beau and Jenny pranking Deputy Pot Pie together, can they get any cuter?! 🤗🥺 And I adore how in sync and in touch with each other they are. She literally started a mini prank, unplanned, and he just caught on and went with it 🥺💖

The way Beau is looking at Jenny just before asking her if she's okay, you cannot tell me he isn't feeling something tugging at his heartstrings 💓 Complete and utter adoration is the only way I have to describe how Beau is looking at Jenny here 🥰🥺💕💖

Another thing I loved and is so soft is how Beau is so aware of Jenny and her emotional landscape, that he asks her how she's doing, even though it means a certain level of vulnerability, for her sake 🥺 And I love that Jenny let Beau in, shared her feelings, and he knew exactly what she needed in that moment, a lighthearted joke about robbing a bank, to ease the tension, before genuinely reassuring her 🥺💟

I feel so terrible, she's been hurt so many times over and over again, and this latest time, it's her mother again 😭💔 But I also love that this is something that's being explored, and I love that she's allowed to have feelings without being seen as weak, that she can be a badass, take down the bad guys, be a fighter, and still be shown to have feelings, show vulnerability and let people in, that neither cancels out the other, that feeling isn't seen as synonymous with being weak. This is how you show female characters who are strong and caring and wonderful and real. And so very human.

We saw Jenny teasing Cassie about Cormac, now girls' night where Cassie returns the favour and interrogates Jenny about Beau happening W H E N ?

Speaking of which.... Cassie and Cormac's chemistry just gets more and more intense, and I'm so excited to see where things are going to go!

And Mark, poor backpacker. He didn't just get run off the hill and then spend a day in agony, before finally it ended. That all happened, and then his body got buried, unmarked in the forest and then dug up again, and then randomly left out for the vultures 😭

At the campsite, Donno & Tonya going undercover for their illegal activities, *chef's kiss*. I love that I first got my Sheriffs OTP undercover and all over each other "for the op", and now I'm getting my other ship also undercover, bickering like an actual married couple 🤣

Carla and Emily flaunt Avery's money in front of Beau to embarrass him, is what I've gathered from the motorcycle scene 😒 And the fact that he feels like the only way he can be worthy to his daughter and make her happy is by buying her expensive gifts shows exactly how much she loves him 😒 And can Emily [Insert Avery's undisclosed last name here] get any more obnoxious? It's looking like an exponential growth, with no limit in sight. And her mother 🤦🏻‍♀️ "We can call Beau". Um, go away, Carla 🙄 You already left him and broke his heart, leave him alone now. And she really said, let's possibly sacrifice Beau in order to satisfy Emily's curiosity about where Paige is. Truly, I cannot stand this woman 😒

Walter and Paige, I have to be honest, I think it could be an interesting and very, very creepy and very appropriately messed up situation to throw Stockholm Syndrome into the mix 🤔👀

Sunny, last episode, I really thought she'd one day end up killing Buck. Now, I don't know, it might end up being Walter. But, it might also end up being Sunny and Walt killing Buck together. Mommy and Me killing team 😱🔪

Don’t mind it.” “I do mind.” “ I’M WHEEZING AKAASHI’S SENPAIS ARE THE WORST. - oh no kuroo has joined the fray and tsukishima is sandwiched between him and bokuto and he’s contemplating his entire existence in agonising distress. - oh shit kenma, akaashi and tsukishima gave bokuto a judging glare and they BROKE HIM, those three apparently have a lot of power together. - okay the light novel says the miya twins at the very least still have their mom in addition to their grandmother *mumbles mumbles my poor headcanons* - atsumu can smell mochi from very far away but not osamu, i was not expecting this and therefore declare the era of “atsumu has a very astute sense of smell”. - the twins helped some old people pound rice to make mochi, and now they’re shaping them, and osamu is making some very nice ones with a bunch of little girls who came to watch, whiel atsumu makes mochi monsters with a bunch of little boys who came to watch, and the girls sympathise with osamu having a brother like atsumu, i’mvbfjvhbh. - the twins making mochi with children is actually really wholesome stop it. - their mochi adventure made them forget that they initially went out to distribute new year’s cards and their mom is Not Happy about it. - Mama Miya sounds like a tough and cool lady. - ATSUMU NEVER STUDIES AND SLEEPS IN CLASS. - he flunked his midterms and was only allowed to compete in volleyball because aran convinced the teachers and apologised on his behalf, my god atsumu is a disaster why does anyone put up with him ever. - atsumu flat out admitted he sometimes puts on a “good boy face” so aran will let him off the hook when he gets scolded. - woah atsumu really doesn’t give a shit about school, good for him good for him. - iwaizumi, matsukawa and hanamaki went on an onsen trip during winter break after losing to karasuno I HAVE NO WORDS. - iwaizumi stays in saunas longer than any normal human being. - iwaizumi and matsukawa are having an eating contest and hanamaki is so confused and the iwaizumi/mattsun friendship is filling me with so much dumb joy. - aaaaand just as i was wondering where on earth oikawa was during this little trip, iwaizumi drops a “… If only he had come.” IWAIZUMI HAJIME SIR. -  “If you say ‘him’ there’s no one but him.” okay then i guess hanamaki and matsukawa are confirming that iwaoi is canon. - the schweiden adlers won four consecutive games against the tachibana red falcons (aran’s team).  - omg akana has to interview ushijima and kuroo told him she was a very promising sports journalist and ushijima is accidentally super nice and encouraging to her i’m crying. - akane describes ushijima’s way of answering questions as “clear and strong, with no hesitations” just like his playstyle and this will now live rent free in my head. - ushijima says playing with his team in shiraorizawa enriched his life and that the players there weren’t just strong  🥺

Hello, I just wanted to tell you that chapter 20 and 21 are one of my favorites, probably because they are a bit more focused on Victor (who has become my favorite character since those two chapters when he was Patrick at the beginning, although I still love him too) and seeing a bit of Vic's daily life makes you feel more attached to the character and all the little details about Evelyn and Victor childhood give me a kind of nostalgia and sadness, chapter 21 really felt like I was really in victor's room you are great at creating atmospheres and moods and reading vic's thoughts and feelings about his family and how he feels about it was great and made me feel a bit sad 😢 i feel like vic has a very low opinion of himself himself and as he himself is considered a disappointment, and another thing that I loved, these two talking about music and joking, small details like that Víctor uses shampoo, his space pajamas or the guitar his mother bought him, which by the way if Victor I learned to play the guitar I would fall even more in love and totally victor with an eyebrow piercing would really look great if he hadn't gotten infected of course, and the lotion victor had in that drawer I think I have an idea what it could be if he got so nervous 😂; Anyway, all those little facts and more things that I didn't want to comment because I feel like I'm rambling too much make me love these chapters, you don't know how many times I've read chapter 21 (I really plan to draw a picture about chapter 21 and Victor and all those little anecdotes)

Chapters 20 and 21 are some of my favorites too, and for all the reasons you've said.

These chapters are all about Evelyn learning about the "new Vic" and realizing that, although he's dyed his hair and developed new interests, he's still the same boy she knew as a kid. And I think that finally clicked for her when she discovered his natural roots coming back in. It's a small moment, but it's a really important one. Here Evelyn is, surrounded by change and almost mourning the loss of her childhood friend, and she suddenly sees a glimpse of the "old Vic" hiding beneath the surface. It's extremely comforting for her and it gives her a lot of hope for the future.

These chapters also let us see a side of Vic that he hides from everyone else. He might prefer to be seen as this moody, miserable asshole who hates everyone, but he's clearly using that as a mask. Vic isn't withdrawn because he hates people. He's withdrawn because he genuinely struggles with everyday socialization, and has struggled with this since he was a little kid. High school is an absolute nightmare for Vic. He's constantly surrounded by people. The hallways are loud and chaotic. All the competing sounds trigger his sensory issues. He gets overwhelmed, overstimulated, and he suffers with painful, throbbing headaches (I mean, the poor boy has to shove his head in his locker to get some relief 🥺). But of course he doesn't want people to see him struggle, so he just hides it as best as he can and tries to act normal. It's gotta be exhausting. No wonder the guy needs to smoke a bowl when he gets home from school. 😂

That's why it breaks my heart to see Vic being so unkind to himself. My favorite moment in Chapter 21 is when Evelyn is talking about how she used to daydream about what they would be like when they were older. Vic automatically assumes that Evelyn is disappointed by how he turned out, and that is just SO SAD to me. I think Vic is deeply disappointed by how he turned out. I think he hoped he would grow out of his issues and eventually become "normal," and that by being "normal" he would finally become the kind of person Evelyn would like. I think that's partially why he was so reluctant to return her feelings when they were younger (that and Evelyn came on really, really strong and likely freaked him out). He probably assumed that Evelyn had some superficial crush on him and that one day she would see the real him and not like him anymore.

I love Vic so much. Regardless of how this story ends, you better believe there’s a timeline where he and Evelyn end up together, and it’s the best timeline ever because those two are absolutely adorable. ❤️❤️❤️
