Does the rest of the family acknowledge Aemonds guilt and pain regarding Lucerys and the war? It seems Jace doesn’t care really, so how does everyone else view it? Its a heavy and important topic cause he literally started the war… I’m sure it’s obvious how much he is suffering too over the years of FMN so does anyone try and communicate with him? I can’t help but feel bad for the guy he’s just so bbg in FMN 😭

FMN Aemond is the babiest of baby girls.

The issue regarding Aemond’s trauma is a bit complicated because though he most definitely isn’t doing great, no one else is either LMAO

As you said, Jace couldn’t give a shit even if he tried because Aemond was the one would killed his Luke. In his mind, Aemond isn’t even deserving of being in the family, let alone any compassion. Funny considering that he’s so close to Aegon, but it is what it is.

Rhaenyra sees he’s struggling and does care about him, but shes too busy trying to help herself and her own children too reach out more than she already has just to be met with rejection.

Harwin on the other hand is very involved. He wants to be that father figure Aemond never had and often tries to talk to him when things are bad. They text every so often and have had a beer or two paired with some deep conversation. He always cracks lame dad jokes when Aemond is getting ready to leave which out a small grin on his face.

I would say the main people who are deeply concerned and try to intervene are Alicent, Hel and Aegon. Mental health is still a sensitive subject in their house but they push forward anyway.

Alicent mainly feels guilt because she sees herself as the true reason for her sons misery. Her approach is very direct, leaving him notes to come talk when she notices he’s more down. Whenever she comes in his room with hot coco Aemond knows he’s in for an emotional convo about feelings and the such.

Aegon also feels guilt, but mostly sadness for his brother. He doesn’t know what its like to kill the love of your life with your own hands (or dragon, same difference) He takes a more comedic relief way of comforting Aemond.

Hel doesn’t do the deep talks or tell jokes. She just spends quality time with her brother to get his mind off of things. It soothes both their sorrows.

Hello, author! I've been having difficulties leaving comments under your work and on any fics in Ao3 generally for some reason 😭 so I'll just express my thoughts here. First of all, TBAW is amazing—OMG, very well written. I think the fact that I relate so strongly with the main character is one of the reasons I adore your fic. I also love that your story touches on real-life issues and mental health, since I have battled with a lot of stuff myself and can identify to some people in the stories, I truly appreciate the importance you give to it. 🥹💕

alsooo, I’m a big Jean girlie myself, always and forever, like you. But in TBAW, I still can’t choose between the two, but I think I’m leaning towards Eren (so far). The only warnings/red flags I see in Eren, is him saying stuff like “I’ll change for you” - typical lines of guys who are walking red flags, and his comments on random girls who are always available and dtf. But I’m choosing him for now because despite the cautions I see, I genuinely enjoy what he does with the reader. “Mutual agreement” aside, I like that he’s thoughtful and considerate enough to bring the reader coffees, and to notice if reader hasn’t eaten yet, and when he’s willing and open to hearing her about her problems and outrages even though they’re not covered by the agreement at all, and most especially the good sex. On the other hand, I also enjoy what’s going on with Jean and the reader bcs as much as they frustrate me- I can’t help but feel giddy when they interact like - I KEEP WANTING MORE, COME ON. PLUS, I also think he cares about the reader too. I kinda feel bad that he doesn’t know how to properly communicate his feelings, but I think he should also needs to work on that, it’s not gonna be easy, but I’m also rooting for him as well haha. The fact that I don’t know what’s going on in his head makes me so drawn and intruiged. 😂

I'm not sure why it's not working for you!! I actually just went to check to see if I had a weird setting or something, but everything seems to be ok so idk it might just be a weird glitch.

I'm happy that you're enjoying it so far but I'm sad to hear that you've had similar experiences to the main character! I based a lot of her work/mental health subplot off of things that I've experienced and I would never want to wish that on anyone else.

I'm also really happy to hear that you're struggling to choose between Eren and Jean 🥰 hehehehe I really wanted to write a love triangle that feels like both guys could potentially end up with the main character because I find a lot of them have an obvious choice and I prefer the mystery and uncertainty.
