hi! i've been re-reading your super awesome story, and i have a few doubts that i thought i might ask you (you don't have to answer if they're plot spoilers!).

first, i noticed that in the i-island episode, the girls were "ganging up on" melissa because they overheard her talking to izuku, and ochaco felt kinda jealous. but then i noticed that in the movie night part when shoto and izuku were talking and jiro was like "gay". my question is, where are you going with this love-triangle? is it going to be izuocha or tododeku? i have a feeling that this is going in the tododeku direction... and i'm loving it! what would be ochaco's reaction to tododeku and shoto's reaction to izuocha? if you end up taking the tododeku route, who would ochaco most likely end up with? and if you end up going into the izuocha path, who will shoto end up with? do you have any ideas for other ships?

Sugiwa: I am leaning way more toward the Tododeku angle. I think narratively for my story it makes more sense with the way Deku’s development is going to go and what I have planned in the aftermath of Kamino Ward. I don’t think Ochako would be jealous or anything—she might be a tiny bit disappointed at first, but supportive. Shouto’s reaction to Izuocha would really be the same, supportive and cheering his friends on. I don’t have many end games planned (I’m a tiny bit concerned with having ships b/c I don’t want to accidentally turn this ending into an ‘everyone gets married and lived happily ever after type thing cause that’s not very realistic) Though, Jirou/Momo are totally going to be a thing—those two give me the preputial ‘will they, won’t they’ vibes, so I will confirm that they will :)

second, i see that a lot of the characters from 1-a are a part of lgbtq+ (and i am here for it <3). will you be, by any chance, discussing homophobia in your story? i know you touched on the subject when izumi opened up to her friends, but i was wondering if it would come back.

Sugiwa: Yes!! We’re going to explore this a lot more in-depth—what it means for Magne to be trans and vilified by the media, what it means for Izumi to be bi but in a relationship that passes as heterosexual, Bakugou’s idea of gender and gender roles—we’re going to dive into it on the build up toward the war arc and what it means for their roles as heroes and people in a society that doesn’t necessarily accept them.

third, are there any headcanons for the characters that you firmly believe are true? i would love to know them!

Sugiwa: hmmm, Bakugou being an All Might fanboy—I kinda hinted at this, but dorms are going to unlock his inner nerd. Shoji knows everyone’s secrets, but will never reveal them. Everyone loves Koda’s rabbit and they fight over who gets to take care of it when he’s on his work study. I don’t really know a lot of the fanon head canons, so I can’t say I believe in too many of them!

i am so sorry that this is so long and that i asked so many questions, but i am just a bit excited lol. i love this story so much! it is so well written, and so damn relatable. kamihara nobi and todoroki izumi are two of the most well-written oc's i have ever seen! and the way you take the plot and add more depth it... *chef's kiss*. a lot of fics usually just stick to horikoshi's plot. not that there's anything wrong with his plot - it's amazing. but your story... it shows that the world is not all black-and-white. that there is no such thing as "pure good" and "pure evil". you add so much dimension to the story that horikoshi's manga, compared to your story, is honestly kinda flat (again, no hate towards horikoshi - that man came up with this amazing universe!), and i simply cannot imagine the canon without izumi and nobi in it! keep up the good work ;)

Kamihara-san’s actually my fave and I kinda want to give you guys a little one shot centered on him cause he’s practically Izumi’s adoptive father at this point.
