The Beauty of Indonesia
Geographically speaking, Indonesia is located in a very strategic location with a beautiful landscape of the most amazing beaches, volcanic mountains, stunning waterfalls, and so much more. However, most of this beauty is still hidden from the world since most people only know Bali. In the spirit of Indonesia Independence day, JOOi would love to introduce the beauty of Indonesia to our JOOibuds there. Indonesia is an archipelago country with more than 17,000 islands, from Sabang to Merauke. Indonesia has 33 provinces with diverse cultures and beliefs as well as very diverse languages. Due to this fact, you can imagine how many gorgeous places haven't been discovered and shown to the world. However in 2021 Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has come up with 5 super priority destinations, from the biggest Buddhist monument in the world to the island of Komodo Dragon, and those are:
Borobudur Temple - Central Java
Let’s start with Java Island. On this island we have the stunning Borobudur temple, which is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument in the world, The temple is perched majestically on a hill with a view of far-off hills and lush green plains. The temple was constructed between AD 780 and 840 during the rule of the Syailendra dynasty, and its Gupta architectural style displays India's influence on the area. However, enough native sceneries and components have been added to make Borobudur distinctly Indonesian. Aside from that, Central Java also has tons of other interesting places to visit, and one of them is Yogyakarta. This city is widely known for the famous Malioboro street which will take you back in time. Keraton Yogyakarta is another must-visit place on our list, this traditional Javanese palace offers more than just gorgeous architecture but also a traditional puppet show called Wayang Kulit that will tell you a lot about Indonesian history, and tradition.
Lake Toba - North Sumatra
The island of Sumatra has its very own Lake Toba. In the middle of this massive crater lake sits an island that is almost the size of Singapore. In actuality, Lake Toba is more like an ocean because of its size of over 1,145 square kilometers and 450-meter depth. It is also one of the deepest lakes in the world. This lake is the biggest in Southeast Asia. Sumatra also has the tallest volcano mountain in the country, standing around 3,800 high Mount Kerinci is popular among mountain climbers. Mount Kerinci's other names are Indrapura Peak, Mountain Tower, Volcano Kurinci, and Korinci. Climbers love this mountain because the route to the top is easy to follow. Overlooking the sunrise on top of the tallest volcano in Indonesia will be something that you won’t forget for a long time.
Labuan Bajo - Nusa Tenggara
Labuan Bajo is located in the East Nusa Tenggara area and is a serene vacation destination that is situated near the western tip of Flores Island. In addition, it acts as a gateway to Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the infamous Komodo Dragon. Additionally, you might visit several well-known locations in Labuan Bajo, such as Pink Beach, Padar Island, Manjerite Island, and Manta Point. While traveling to Labuan Bajo, a luxury holiday can be a choice, Labuan Bajo is so much more than just a gateway to Komodo Island. Today, tons of luxurious resorts and villas are standing tall around the city. However the main attraction of Labuan Bajo is their luxurious cruise trip, there are three main islands to visit on this journey, which are Rinca, Pandar, and Komodo Island.
Mandalika - Lombok
The beautiful white sand beaches with a view of the sparkling Indian Ocean run for miles along the south coast of the lovely island of Lombok. There is captivating scenery and rolling hills in the backdrop. This is Mandalika, formerly known only to surfers, which has now become the island's recreational hub. There are a variety of attractions for you to enjoy in the special tourism economic zone, including lively bars and nightclubs, exhilarating racetracks, thrilling water parks, opulent hotels and resorts, interesting golf courses, and soothing spas. Mandalika gained more fame after the grand MotoGP World Championship 2022 was held on Mandalika's very own circuit. There are a total of 17 corners on the 4,310-meter-long Mandalika circuit. The circuit is asymmetrical, meaning that more turns are made in one direction than the other. Only 6 left-hand turns exist compared to 11 right-hand turns. The main track is just 507 meters long, but because the majority of the corners are swift, it would qualify as a fast track given its relatively high average speed. The location of Mandalika is another distinctive aspect. It is situated at sea level in the southern part of the island, and turn 10 on the circuit is a few hundred meters from the shore and offers breathtaking views.
Likupang - North Sulawesi
Likupang Beach is one of the greatest spots to visit in North Sulawesi. Likupang Beach will take your breath away the moment you see it, with its magnificent and broad white sandy beach. It also features lovely pure saltwater and a variety of other tourist attractions. You may also dive to see the underwater landscape that will fascinate you. North Sulawesi, is well-known for its breathtaking natural wonders. The beaches, hilly mountains, and beautiful jungles are the attractions that distinguish this location from other islands in Indonesia. With the vast growing recognition of sustainability in every aspect, the Indonesian government is eager to develop Likupang to be one of Indonesia's ecotourism destinations. Indonesia Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that the big plan for optimizing Likupang potential to be a sustainable tourism destination should be ready by 2023. With the idea of maritime community-based ecotourism, Bahoi Village District West Likupang North Minahasa District is one place that has promise for turning this big project into reality.
JOOi is committed to introducing the beauty of our country to the world, showing the world that every part of Indonesia is astounding, that it is not only Bali that is worth visiting, but we have so much more to offer. That is why JOOi came up with JOOi Personalise tour where you can customise your own tour and visit every part of this beautiful country. Well, there is no time to lose, visit Indonesia with JOOi now!

Uluwatu Temple: Another temple in Bali with a beautiful setting is Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. Perched high on a cliff’s edge with the powerful sea waves constantly crashing at its base, Uluwatu Temple dates back to 900 AD. Moreover, sensational sunsets in Bali can be viewed from this temple too. As an add-on, the daily Kecak dance - the Balinese Fire Dance of trance nature performed by the local men at this temple make the setting even more enchanting.
Besakih Temple: Often referred to as Bali’s ‘mother temple’, Besakih Temple is a grand complex of different temples and shrines on the slopes of Mount Agung. It is also considered the holiest and the largest temple on the island, and exploring the whole site can take a day. The sacred mountainside site can be accessed by many stairs that lead up. Its vantage location gives way to breathtaking countryside views of rice paddies, hills, mountains, streams and more.
Pura Tirta Empul Temple: A legendary and a national cultural heritage site dating back to 960 AD of the ancient Balinese kingdom, Tirta Empul Temple is located in Manukaya village in central Bali. Madagascar Travel Ideas
Visiting Madagascar, a huge island in the Indian ocean, can bring you tons of pleasant experiences and impressions. This short travel guide presents the most interesting attractions and sights available in the country.
The fourth-largest island in the world is famous for its unique ecosystem that formed when it separated from Africa 165 million years ago. Endless rainforests once covered most of that island, but over the past 40 years the forest has been wiped out completely for firewood and for agricultural purposes, supporting the ever-growing population. Despite this, Madagascar island is still known for its tremendous biological diversity. When the island broke away from Africa, there were created the conditions for the evolution of animals and plants without outside influence.
Madagascar is the only place on the earth, where Africa meets the Oceania, where the refined French culture is superimposed on the ancient traditions, which came here from Indonesia.
The island between Africa and Asia is a true reserve country in the Indian Ocean. Madagascar is known for deserted areas, green-red hills, miles of beaches, where you will not meet a living soul, and forests filled with flowers. Altipyano landscapes, the jungle of the Amazon, the Congo or the Philippines, Kenya's savanna, coastal islands of the Caribbean Sea, the Sahel desert and the orchids of Thailand can be found here, in Madagascar. Malagasy people themselves believe that Madagascar is and the smallest 'continent' on our planet. The right to call Madagascar a continent is stressed by its originality. Today, Madagascar is a vast natural museum of paleontology.
The Central Highlands of Madagascar are an elevated area of the country. There are many extinct volcanoes, mountains, hills, valleys and rivers. The Central Plateau extends from south to north. The highest peaks are located in the north. The center of the country is known for its large ponds and rice fields. Lake Alautra is the habitat of various birds. How To Choose Your Indonesia Cruise
Tumblr media
You'll be impressed by the many Indonesian cruise itineraries. However, it can be difficult to choose the right vessel and travel route. Our experts have researched the possibilities and have put together this extensive private cruises guide to guide you through your travel choices. Based on your needs starting at the top or the lowest point of this list. This will help guide your travel search.
Understand Your Ship Options
Many small boats of different sizes and designs sail Indonesia. You can go the way of day boats, but selecting a first-class, seaworthy and safe vessel is of the utmost importance among these far-flung islands. We highly suggest going off the traditional day-tour route to remote areas by way of expedition vessels. Our vessels with us in Indonesia vary from traditional wooden schooners that give off a romantic, authentic vibe, to luxury and exploration-focused modern expedition vessels, that travel further, faster, equipped with the most modern equipment. The type of ship you prefer along with amenities and other activities will help you reduce your private yacht charter choices.
Consider the Indonesia animals you'd like to observe
While wildlife encounters can never be guaranteed, scouting out endemic creatures is half the fun of adventure travel anywhere. Manta rays can be found and birds-of-paradise throughout Indonesia. But there are other geographical differences.
The Wallace Line is a famous ecological boundary that divides two eco-zones within Indonesia. Alfred Russel Wallace, a naturalist, created the "line" in 1859. It runs from Borneo through Sulawesi and ends at the Strait between Bali and Lombok. The journey along this line is thrilling for naturalists because it's among the most distinctive biogeographic areas on Earth. It is home to large terrestrial mammals west of the line (tigers and elephants and orangutans), while marsupials and Australian cockatoos can be seen east of it. Birds-of-paradiseand marsupials, as well as Australian Cockatoos can be found east of the line. The Indonesian island of Sulawesi is a fascinating exception to the Wallace Line with black macaques and tarsiers.
Seasonality: The Clues
Indonesia cruises can be booked all year round. However, cruise ships generally sail to certain regions during the drier and less windy months. If you're looking to sail Raja Ampat for example, make sure to plan your trip for the winter season (roughly October to February). There are many sailings between April and September If your course is an Bali cruise.
