HI I FINISHED THE THING!!!!!!!!

This was a request from the fic ask thingy i posted a while ago, this is a mix of 8 and 9 for Loulph, requested by @gay-bulborb !!!! Sorry this took so long, snowpocalypse and all that jazz jnfdjfnods

Alph pushed aside a bush, finally finding who he was looking for. “Louie?” He called, rushing to him. The lake was at least 20 miles away from his house, he can’t imagine how lost Louie was. “Hey it’s me, I was so worried! You weren’t in bed this morning, and-" He stopped, his partner's figure heaving and shaking. “Hey what’s wrong?” Alph slowed, kneeling down to meet Louie's eyes. Alph was visibly confused looking at his face. How long had he been like this?

Louie looked away, wiping his face. He tried to get up and move, but couldn’t get his body to cooperate.

“Hey… it’s okay. I’m here. You wandered so far; you’re probably burning up! It’s so hot out…” Alph tried putting a hand on Louie, only to be swatted off.

Louie wasn’t a man of many words, even to him. He hardly emoted in any noticeable fashion either… was he hurt? Maybe it was the heat. It’s pretty hot here compared to Hocotate. That’s probably it. “I didn’t bring you anything to drink, when we get into town we can get parfaits-" Louie immediately shook his head, his tears swelling even larger than before. “Lou… What happened?”

Louie groaned, burying his head in his arms, curling into himself. He wanted to say so many things but couldn’t get a single thing out. He felt horrible, usually he was able to cover up pretty well but today…. Today he couldn’t. He couldn’t stop.

Alph sighed, sitting down. He was a little farther away from his partner than he’d like, but he knew when he needed space. “Tell me when you’re ready. I’ll be here.” Alph gave him a gentle smile, waiting patiently. Louie's always been difficult to read, he hardly gave anything away, but it’s never been so clear that something was causing him trouble. He always looked troubled by something, sure. He could see it, the look of guilt that edged its way into every corner of his face. An unseen trouble that was ever present, but it was never this much of a hindrance.

How much time had passed?

Louie's breath started to steady, at least for a moment, before he started shaking softly. He looked to Alph, quietly muttering: “I'm sorry.” His apology was sent into the air, causing the already heavy air to thicken even more. “I’m so fucking sorry.” His voice was harsh, his entire body shaking with every breath.

Alph looked at Louie, confused. Why was he apologizing? He didn’t do anything… “It’s okay, you just needed some time-" Alph paused. The look Louie was giving him, the twang his heart felt, he knew what Louie was apologizing for. Louie picked up on Alph quickly, his face extremely hot, his breath coarse.

“Louie…” Alph inched slightly closer. “You’ve already apologized to us. To me, even more. What’s wrong?” He reached out for Louie's hand, Louie gave him his hand, as shaky as it was.

“You did things that hurt us. Some of us are still learning to forgive. But you returned everything, and Koppai's rebuilding. You didn’t hurt our mission in the end. In earnest, we needed to find you.” Louie’s body tightened. “You don’t need to apologize for something that was already fixed.” Alph looked to his partner, who was looking back to him. Alph's grip tightened on Louie’s hand. “I love you, you know that?”

Louie nodded; his mind occupied. There was more on his mind, but it seems the biggest was out in the open. He had to leave back to Hocotate tomorrow…. if only things could stay like this forever.
