"Neil." Ichirou's voice is even, "How was your winter break?" he asks and Andrew can hear the other two Moriyama's suck in their breath in shock.

"I think I still enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed the one you wanted me to go on." Neil says, "Jean has shown great progress and I enjoyed my time getting to know your brother." Neil says from where he was still resting in Andrew's arms.

"You're still a shit." Ichirou hisses rolling his eyes. "I came to pick you up but it seems Minyard won't give up that position." his gaze slides from Neil to Riko and his eyes grow colder. "Come here." he orders and Riko scrambles to Ichirou's side despite looking as if he was only a moment from passing out.

"Yes, young-"

"You are my brother. There is no need for that." Ichirou says, "We have much to discuss, father has left us few opportunities to interact." he says.

WIP Wednesday - Closed (9/20/23) | Math Nerd AU

He looks at Riko again, thinks about how Riko had stepped in front of Neil.

It seems that both sons would have the potential to surpass their father. "Uncle struck Neil." he doesn't ask because he already knows the answer. He knows how Neil works, knows how his accountant will let someone dig themselves a grave, knows that Neil will kick that person into the hole and bury them with a smile on his face.

Riko ducks his head, "He was stepping between Uncle and myself." Riko says and Ichirou nods. Tetsuji's control over his brother was not unknown to Ichirou, it had been something that had both rendered Riko a non-threat to his own power and had rendered him beneath Ichirou's notice.

"Because you were disobedient." Ichirou says and Riko flinches like it is a reprimand, but it's the opposite.

Ichirou is pleased.

Riko looks like he wants to say something but, wisely, refrains.

The ride over is spent in the ongoing silence but Ichirou chooses to use the time to get a few different balls rolling. Kengo did not have long to live despite Tetsuji's denials and it was only Kengo's continual refusal to die already that kept Tetsuji in his current position.

He thinks of the hundreds of thousands of dollars that his uncle had siphoned away from the Moriyama Family. Ichirou thinks how his own money had remained untouched and his father's had dwindled.

Yet the man remained insistent that a Butcher was better than an Accountant.

Riko shakes his head in the negative. "No, I have no problem with hard work." Riko says and grips the fine fabric of his new pants. "As long as that hard work gets me the results I desire." he says.

Ichirou could have smiled.

"What are those results?" he asks.

Riko hesitates and Ichirou doesn't push watching as his brother tries to find words for the primal desire that he can see burning in him.

"I have better clothes back at-"

"No," he has zero desire to turn the car around when there were shops all around for them to stop into. He reaches to the side and presses a button that would allow him to speak with the driver, "14th and Main." he says because even if this is the first time he's spent in Riko's presence it isn't as if he is unfamiliar with a town that is essentially a Moriyama asset.

They wrap up their casual lunch. He does not wait to receive the check knowing that they have his card on file. Riko follows a step behind him and they climb back into the car, "I will be heading back to the family home." Ichirou says and pulls a card from his pocket.

He hands it with one hand over to Riko who accepts it with two. Riko looks down at the card in his hand, "This is your phone number." he says.

"Yes, my personal phone." Ichirou confirms
