Week 6 - How Are The Teams?

Hello Players! 

We are 6 Weeks into game play! The Teams are moving around the board quickly and gathering points as they go. The completion of our second Team Activity really helped bolster a lot of the Teams!

Overall, we had a total of 27 new works created just for this event! That’s phenomenal! 

A Quick Reminder at our Event Schedule: 

October 22 - Final Day to Receive New Prompt

October 29 - Final Day to Submit for Points

November 1 - Winning Team is Announced

Don’t forget, all Teams can get additional community points by commenting or sharing fics created during this event. As well as completing the Team Bonus Prompts that other players have landed on. 

Let’s take a look at our current board!

The majority of our players have made it to the more difficult side of the board - this is where the non-conventional and more halloween themed tropes lie! These past few weeks, lots of players have landed on Shippo’s Bag of Tricks as well. Unfortunately, not all the tricks he pulls are good. Several players have rolled increased minimum word counts or have lost a few total team points. But! That’s part of the fun! 

Here are our current Team Points!

Team Kitsune has been in the lead, but Team Okami is quickly catching up! Team Inu is trailing the pack a bit, but not to worry - there is still plenty of time to get more points! Nothing is set in stone as of yet. 

Great job everyone! I’d also like to thank you all the great feedback that we’ve received thus far - it’s definitely going to help us create a better event for next year! 

Remember, this is our first year running the event - so there are bound to be some growing pains as we develop!

Teams and Dashboards

Hello Everyone! 

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up as to what our team mascots are going to be this year, and talk a little bit about the team dashboards we’ll be using!

Let’s start with the teams! 

This year we will have 4 total teams. Each team member will work as an individual to finish prompts to earn team points. However, throughout the event, team activities will be introduced to gain additional team points. During these activities, you’ll work together with your teammates to come up with creative solutions! 

Our teams for this year are...

Team Inu

Team Kitsune

Team Neko

Team Okami

Welcome emails will be sent out to each player at the end of the week to tell you what team you are apart of! 

Team Dashboards

In the welcome email, players will also receive a link to their team dashboards. These dashboards give players an in real time view of all the points, activities, and bonus prompts that are available.

This is going to be a super duper handy reference sheet for all players, so be sure to familiarize yourself with it. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the mods if you have questions.

Here we’ll go over each tab of the dashboard. 

Please Note: Players need only fill out the Community Points tab, all other tabs will be updated by the moderators and are for player’s reference only. 

1. Antidotes Tab   a. Tells each player how many Antidotes they have available to them at any given time   b. Used to skip prompts and can be earned throughout the game

2. Bonus Points Tab   a. These occur from landing on “Special Spaces” throughout the board   b. Points can be positive or negative and affect the team’s total

3. Community Points Tab   a. The only tab players will need to fill out   b. Leaving comments/reblogs/or sharing other player’s fics earn you a point   c. Each player is responsible for keeping track of their community points   d. See Game Guide for more info

4. Submission Points Tab   a. Players can see how many points they’ve received for submitting a fic   b. These points are earned by submitting to the AO3 collection and the game          submission form 

5. Team Activity Tab   a. Players can see any team activities that are available and how many additional points they are worth   b. Announcements will be made on the discord channel for any actives that              take place

6. Team Bonus Prompts Tab   a. Throughout the board there are 4 spaces that trigger team bonus prompts   b. This tab allows all team members to see the additional prompts and can earn additional points for completing them   c. Bonus Prompts do not require a reroll to move spaces upon completion from other team members

7. Team Total Points Tab   a. This tab auto calculates all the points earned from the above tabs, giving players an idea of their score at any given time
