Okay so I don’t know how many of you know about the markiplier mods charity thing in the markiplier manor discord server that was done recently-

And during one the vids we stumbled upon the W.A.I.A! (Wilfords traumatized robot)

And we chose to do an interview with him-

First this bitch runs off with us-

Then he shows his abandonment issues- DEADASS ASKS IF WE ARE GUNNA ABANDON HIM TOO-

Then he dumps even more of the killing accident trauma- then proceeds to terrifyingly chase us down (mods to the rescue)

it's Sad Thoughts About Wilford ™ hours, apparently

I rewatched WKM recently, keeping in mind how the party scene acts as very broad foreshadowing for the rest of the series' events.

As an aside, I STILL think it's hilarious that Mark the creator had Damien, proper Mr. Mayor Damien, do a keg stand as a way to show him being in the 'upside down' - did people even do keg stands in the 20s--

ANYWAY

I got to the bit where William points his gun at himself, foreshadowing his deadly game of Russian roulette with Actor.

And I realized how bonkers that felt. Because nobody with his ostensible level of military training (he's a colonel, for crying out loud) and then off-hours experience with guns (the man went on hunting trips For Fun) in their right mind would ever do that.

Ever!!!

And if they did - which they probably still wouldn't just to be extra special careful (although Will is clearly blind drunk at the time) - it would only be if they were absolutely, positively, 100% certain it wasn't loaded.

I mean, sure, it could have been - we hear him use a live round later on when he's doing 'target practice' (which was likely just him trying to cover up evidence of having fired it earlier), so we do know he brought ammunition with him to the Manor. And he's known to be an eccentric, Damien tells us as much, so playing around with a loaded gun isn't totally out of the realm of possibility, though it still feels unlikely to me, as someone who knows eccentrics with guns look I'm from the American South, that describes most of my extended family

But then the W.A.I.A. tells us it wasn't.

"I. Didn't. Know. The. Gun. Was. Loaded."

Which means William agreed to playing with Mark, but with a gun he thought was empty.

A gun he thought was safe.

You could ask why he would ever agree to doing something like that in the first place, playing around with a gun even if he was certain it wasn't loaded, and maybe you could fault him there. Maybe he thought it would be funny to mess with Mark, to goad him into doing something seemingly dangerous just to reveal that all their adrenaline-chasing was pointless. To make Mark sweat.

But only with the reassuring knowledge that there was no way it would end in disaster. The most dangerous outcome.

For all their falling out, he still cared about Mark enough to think about his safety. Which, I suppose, makes one of them. :')
