Five fun facts about yourself: GW2 Edition
Aaaaa thanks @commander-wame, @ashals-dream, @likemesomesalads, @commander-rook, @the-mystic-dragon and @hmsdivinity!! It was real neat reading about everyone and their different experience’s and thoughts about the game <333
I actually started playing GW2 over 5 years ago but stopped playing because I was about to start my gap year and work and I just never got back to it. I restarted playing about 5 months ago because a friend wanted to roleplay with me on it (Though we don’t any more ;;)
I really love playing with restrictions! For example I couldn’t do any water parts of the map on Proto until they reached level 20 otherwise they’d have “sunk” and malfunctioned. Or I can’t use waypoints at all and have to sprint around the world!
I want player housing to be in GW2 SO BAD. Let me customize a room/house for each of my characters please I love decorating and designing in games a lot!
I cannot design a sylvari without basing them on real life plants. I find the idea of it just being “Planty themed” really weird to me I HAVE to ground them in something I can research otherwise it just doesn’t stick! (Not that its bad to just have plant themed characters just as that at all, it’s just something I can’t do)
I would LOVE to roleplay with people with GW2 characters but mine are always so lore breaking and also talking to people is VERY hard. I’m always kinda jealous when I see people’s characters in relationships be it friends or partners or even enemies because I love rp so much but I am cripplingly shy with online communication. I am currently working on a dnd-style GW2 roleplaying system at the moment however which I’m testing with uni friends (or will be once I move)
These were hard to think of XD and also I was supposed to do this straight away after the first person tagged me and I forgot oops! Either way I’m tagging @leftincommand and @commandertollwife if you would like to do it and if you wanna do this anyway go ahheeaadd <3

Blog 10 - Working as an Agent for Change
Our assignment this week was to read chapter 17 "Working as Agents for Change" from “Sustainability: Principles and Practice” by Margaret Robertson. After reading the chapter we were then told to pick three quotes that stood out and grabbed our attention. Then we were asked to reflect, in a positive or negative way, on the quotes that we have chosen. The three quotes from the reading that stood out to me was “People are willing to make changes if the changes are easy to do or if they look like solutions that lead to a better life.” Pg. 330 (Robertson, 2017), “scientists suggest that “global warming” is a misleading label. Not all of the planet is warming, and in addition many people think of warming as a pleasant thing. More accurate terms are global climate change or climate destabilization.” Pg. 333 (Robertson, 2017), and “Consensus is reached after all participants have had the opportunity to voice their opinions, each person’s concerns are heard and understood, and the group working together has developed a solution that everyone agrees is the best solution given all the factors.” Pg. 337-338 (Robertson, 2017)

My first quote “People are willing to make changes if the changes are easy to do or if they look like solutions that lead to a better life.” (Robertson, 2017), stood out to me because I agree with the statement. People don’t tend to make a change unless it affects them right now, not in the near or possible future. We as Humans are creatures of habit, mostly bad habits. According to a news article “On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact.” (Clear, 2018), this can be a long time to fix some of my own bad habits, like changing my diet and exercise as examples.

The second quote “scientists suggest that “global warming” is a misleading label. Not all of the planet is warming, and in addition many people think of warming as a pleasant thing. More accurate terms are global climate change or climate destabilization.” (Robertson, 2017), grabbed my attention because all too often this happens. President Trump has gone on and used “global warming” in a misleading statement. His tweet says “In the beautiful Midwest, windchill temperatures are reaching minus 60 degrees, the coldest ever recorded. In coming days, expected to get even colder. People can’t last outside even for minutes. What the hell is going on with Global Waming? Please come back fast, we need you!” (and yes, he misspelled warming.) (Trump, 2019).

My third quote, “Consensus is reached after all participants have had the opportunity to voice their opinions, each person’s concerns are heard and understood, and the group working together has developed a solution that everyone agrees is the best solution given all the factors.” (Robertson, 2017). I picked this quote because, I dislike this quote. We live in a society where our voices are not entirely voiced or represented within our government. We have voting, which in theory should work, but I, as a citizen living in a closed state primary, must declare a party to vote in a partisan primary election, so there is no “cross-over” voting. Why am I forced this?

Quick review of Blog 10, I discussed 3 quotes that I took interest in, from our reading of chapters 17. I would say the second quote to be the one that impacts me the most, just because it is going to affect us all, as in all living creatures.
