Every so often, something wonderous happens in London. The Thames, lifeblood of the city, freezes over with ice solid enough for the city to move out on to those waters in a celebration of the event. It has been more than ten years since such a festival was held on the icy stretches of the river. As the temperature continues to drop and the ice creeps away from the banks, news of the Frost Fair starts to spread, planned for when the ice grows thick enough to support it.

What wintry fun will the Ton indulge in? Prepare your shawls and coats -- unless you have a beau or belle to keep you warm.

so you're not allowing openly lgbtq+ characters at this time?

Hi Nonnie! No, actually it's quite the opposite! Our apologies if we weren't clear in our previous post. We have several LGBTQ+ characters currently in play, and would welcome a muse who was openly lgbtq+ if that is the muse you hope to bring. However, because of our historical period, we only ask that our players be aware of the period attitudes and restrictions towards LGBTQ+ culture and community. This was a period of time where holding hands in public and generally any displays of affection among people of any gender (while unmarried) were not socially acceptable.  Even married people being affectionate in public was a bit frowned upon in polite society, so they were relegated to secretive missives, longing glances, and covert assignations. These sorts of tensions are what we hope add to our muses' journeys of character development. 

While there were historical figures in this era that were open of their lgbtq+ identity and orientation who appeared to live happily, they still faced many various obstacles when out in society. We are happy to provide resources and information on these historical figures in LGBTQ+ history belonging to the time period. Not only that, if you want to reach out to us, we can work with you on how you'd want to fit your muse in this world.

hi this looks really cool and I really want to join!! but none of the open roles are sparking my muse right now and I have a character I really want to play. can I bring in a princess??

Hello! Thanks for the question. Right at this moment, we will not be adding new roles, at least not until all of our current roles are filled. (We are really excited to see all those character boxes filled first!) The admins are in talks of adding a few more roles and are brainstorming, but we are going to look at how IC interactions are faring before we come up with what other additions to the season we would like to see. Regarding a potential royal character, at this time, we don't think we will be carving out a space for a royal. 

We hope that you'll still return to check out our new skeletons, whenever they may come out. Or perhaps you may feel inspired to fit your character to our available skeletons. We really appreciate your interest and hope that inspo may spark for you. We'd love to have you and anyone else who stops by to join our family!
