I wrote on here previously how it was a bit disappointing that FAKY were coming to an end, after only getting into them about 3 months ago. But it's an exciting prospect if it means Lil Fang will get her own solo career. It's unclear if that will happen. I'm pretty sure it will happen with Akina. FAKY's output is super eclectic but their solo stuff is very much tailored for their specific voices. Could be a good thing, really. Lil Fang has quite a similar singing voice to ex-Aldious singer R!N, perfect for more broad J-pop stuff, but very powerful too, whereas Akina has a more soft, delicate, laid back, more... RnB voice maybe? Very chill and wholesome. Her singing voice is like an all encompassing hug, pretty much. It will be curious to see which paths they take. Something to keep an eye on and look forward to.

If you had looked at Rhiann before her signing to New Age, she definitely wouldn’t have seemed like someone who would grow up to be a kpop idol. Born in Japan, she spent much of her childhood flying to England and back home again, visiting both of her parents, who had divorced shortly after she was born. While she loved her mom to bits and loved her time spent in Japan, her favorite place to spend her time was in London. The music scene there excited her, and so did the style. Gone were the modest dresses she grew up with, and in their place came chokers and heavy black boots and ripped jeans. She dyed her hair and played around with makeup, and the weeks she spent home in Osaka were weird ones, full of tension with her mother and stares from her peers. While she was a sweet girl and full of light and joy, people were scared of her. And as the times changed, so did she, adopting more of an e-girl aesthetic there too.

She had stumbled upon New Age by accident when she was 15; a scout in London saw her in a mall and offered her an audition–solely on looks, although it worked in both of their favors. Rhiann had always been one to try new things just for the hell of it, and she had a naturally strong voice. Once she started training, it became clear that she was a skilled dancer too. She picked up Korean along the way, and became a huge force in the trainee program

Though, stylists were a problem. Her look didn’t quite fit the whole vibe of the company and the industry, so after much arguing, she was made over. Her bright pink was turned brown and the heavy make up disappeared completely. No more piercings. She was expected to learn to be cutesy and have lots of aegyo, and she kind of hated that. And she’s adjusted, preparing to play the part of the cute member very well. But in exchange for changing her image, she accessorizes for herself, which means she almost always is equipped with a choker or wrist cuffs or fishnets. And those quirky little details are what she’s sure will set her apart from other idols, and have earned her quite the fanbase already; some would go as far to call her a cult hero, but she denies it.

A few years with New Age has helped her hone her skills remarkably. She had been an adept dancer when she first joined, but now she is incredible. Her vocals are stronger and her rapping is a lot better than when she started, not to mention she is quite charismatic. If ever there was a golden idol, that idol would be Rhiann Okita. Or, rather, it will be.

Tanaka Yuzuki was born in 1997 as the second child and first daughter to a regular, everyday family in Kyoto. Her brother, Yojiro, was born four years prior to her and their parents spent most of their time working their 9-5 desk jobs. The family wasn’t necessarily rich but they were on the upper middle class side of society which gave their parents the ability to afford a nanny to watch over the kids until they reached their teenage years. 

Growing up going to a private school, Yuki had access to a plethora of different elective classes and due to her older brother’s love for playing the piano, she decided to take up different music classes when she reached middle school. She quickly found a passion for singing and performing and even joined the school’s choir when she made it into high school. 

While out shopping with her friends, Yuki came across a studio that was holding auditions for an entertainment company. Her friends managed to convince her to audition for the company, even though at the time they knew nothing about it, since they knew how good of a singer Yuki was and the passion she held for performing. To the surprise of no one but Yuki, she passed the audition and was informed that she would be able to become a kpop trainee in Korea for Angelico Entertainment.

It took some convincing, but after making a deal with her parents that if she didn’t debut within 3 years then she would have to return to Japan, Yuki joined Angelico Entertainment in 2013. Managing to only train for 2 years before being placed in a debut lineup, Yuki became the second winter to debut in SE4SONS in 2015. Unfortunately, she was only in the group for 6 months before she was replaced as winter and went back to being a trainee. 

After 3 years of modeling and being a backup dancer for different Angelico groups, Yuki was placed into the debut lineup for Sugar n’ Spice. She was given the position of lead vocalist and lead dancer, making her debut in the group under the stage name of Yuki on April 6th, 2019.
