"Ah Hayden! Just who I was talking about! Come sit down!" Shunsui got up for a second and went to a cabinet, getting another saucer… and another bottle of sake. The one on the table was starting to feel a bit light. He returned to his seat a bottle and a saucer richer, placing one in front of Hayden.

Taking one look at the reports, he'd sit them aside on his desk 'to sign later'. Later being after this chat.

Mizumi watched her old man go get the sake from the cupboard and then looked over at Hayden, "let me guess, never told you who this guy was to me?"

Not many people knew because she kept it on the low down for so long. But he was the one she could go home to and bitch about her day and then flop down and take a nap next to… or on, even. Genuinely depended on how shitty she was doing that day.

Hayden was a professional. He was given orders, and he understood what it needed to accomplish him. When the Gotei needed something done, at any cost, it was always his name which would be put up. When survival chances where not in his favor, he accomplished the mission no matter what.

He could be both a tool, and a man. He was fine with that. But if he was to be used, then it would be to further the cause of the Gotei as a whole not that of a select few. That is why he chafes with Central 46, and that is why he will never rise higher.

Not until fundamental change is brought. And he will bring it, one day. But for today he has a report to deliver to Shunsui. A knock on the door is given before he enters, barely sparring a moment. A breach ettiquette that he has afforded after knowing the Captain-Commander for some years now.

He is surprised to see Mizumi, but his attention is on Shunsui.

"I have the last incident report, needs your signature before going to archives."

Mizumi had been sitting with her adopted old man in the First's Office. Two saucers of sake on the desk and a bottle opened, ready to pour another. She went on that she thought she had gotten better with her Hakuda in the past few years.

That brought a smile to his face, being the one who first worked with her Hakuda when she was much younger, "Why don't you take up one of my best in a spar? I'm sure he'd enjoy it just as much as you would. Maybe you can get the jump on him." He knew she wasn't the best with sneak attacks and was a bit more of the in your face type of fighter.

Mizumi stood up, drinking the rest of her saucer of sake. "Is he here? I'll go find him."

"Last I checked… didn't send him out today. Should be training." Shunsui took a sip of his sake before hearing someone outside the office. "Might be your lucky day, he came to you."
