She had every reason to have her bankai; her confidence was back; she let go of the past; people were depending on her, they believed in her; and she was trusting others again… She had even told one that she trusted him with her life and now the life of another soul. Ayame just had to talk to Rakkagan for a nice long talk, and see if that mirror image of hers would finally crack.

Ayame had ended up sitting in Kisuke's lap, holding her sword, with both hands, while cross-legged. She knew she could do this. Closing her eyes, she worked on focusing on speaking with her Zanpakuto Spirit in her inner world. Rakkagan was there, in the theater of empty seats, as a mirror image of Ayame. Sitting on the stage, her legs were crossed, dangling over the edge, bouncing forward and back. The two got along well, but Ayame had yet to crack the mirror image. Today was going to be the day she did it.

The blonde would approach the other, hoping words would finally sway this stubborn Spirit of hers. "There're people out there who trust me, believe in me, and I believe in myself an' trust that I can follow through with everythin' goin' on." Which, admittedly, wasn't much other than incubating a soul at the moment while chasing hollows, doing paperwork, doing something she loved, and being with someone she loved.

The snooty 'blonde' woman shook her head. "But do you really believe those words you speak?" The mirror image made sure she was speaking the truth and actually did believe in herself. Have that confidence she once had back; she mended everything. Every reason, she gave Ayame her shikai…

" 'course I do! I'm not lettin' 'em down. I've let the past go—not sayin' I forgive or that I'm ever gonna forget what Aizen did, but… To move forward, I gotta let go of it. I can' stay b'hind anymore. I gotta continue on! Get my feet goin' in the right direction." Ayame was adamant in her words as she spoke to the other.

"You believe you can wield your bankai without any qualms? With what it can do? Including the preparation and the thought needed to go into it?" The mirror image was cracking, about to shatter even. "So be it…" That mirror image would shatter and there stood a woman with purple hair, not blonde, and her hair was longer than Ayame's. Her eyes were nearly white, with a pupil to… indicate which direction she was looking. The woman had a rather wide-brimmed hat on and wore a dress that looked similar to an iris. "Then allow me to introduce myself again, as your bankai, Rakkagan-jou-ou."

Ayame stood there, amazed at the woman. So her spirit had been messing with her this whole time. A mirror reflection to hide what-- And then that hit her—that's been a lot of what she had been doing. Hiding. Her lack of confidence caused most of it. A week or so ago, it was simply nerves, not confidence bottoming out. Though she was curious, what could be so dangerous about this Bankai? "With what it can do?"

"You get into the head of someone else; force them into an illusion before you puppet the body around to attack their allies." There was a smile on her face. "And the illusion they have to live through is fighting themselves, just as you've had to deal with me… and fighting your own inner battles. Except they'll be fighting an illusion of themselves. In most cases, they die to the illusion; they die on the field, not knowing they've killed people they sided with. You shouldn't have to use this very often. But I'm sure you understand there's a risk of using it on an ally if you don't focus on the right person." This meant Ayame had to be tactical but also careful, and as for where the confidence came in… She had to be confident in that ability, and herself, or someone could break out of that illusion.

That… did sound complicated, and Ayame was in awe that it still needed to be illusionary, and it still involved mind tricks and strings, but she now understood why her Zanpakuto spirit kept it away from her for so long. "Thank you… fer believin' in me 'nough to give me my bankai." And now, how was she to train it? Felt like hollows wouldn't have the right kind of consciousness to get through to their little thoughts. But… she could try after she came out of her inner world.

The purple-haired woman watched the young blonde before her and said, "Just don't make me regret it. You are strong and have rebounded from what you would consider your worst years, yet you persevere and move on. Do remember my words; it is a dangerous bankai if used on the wrong person. However, if you believe they to be able to best themselves in a fight, you could perhaps use it on another shinigami." Ayame had to trust her judgment as well when it came to using it. Pick the right person on the battlefield—the strongest one. "There are options for training… But, you have to trust your instincts and experience; make the calls from here." The woman couldn't call the shots for her in a fight.

That… felt like a lot of weight, but she was ready to handle it, though she did have at least one person in mind who was more than capable of handling himself in a fight with himself—that would be her own brother. Potentially Kisuke too, but did she want to do that? She didn't want to hurt either of them, but both of them were perfectly capable of holding their own. It wouldn't hurt to ask first and explain what she was doing, though. Ayame thanked her Zanpakuto spirit again before leaving her inner world.

Eyes opening once more, still sitting in Kisuke's lap, hands holding onto the sheath of her Zanpakuto. "I did it; she lemme have it." Ayame didn't sound hyped up or excited, but calm.

Yachiru Headcanons: (because I haven't made them yet, and I'm sure people want to know how she differs from canon) (Canon Divergent: I know what happens, and I'm gonna fix it.)

(Spoilers for TYBW start youwerewarned)

- Yachiru is co-lieutenant with Ikkaku. Sometimes she's there... sometimes she's not. This does leave Ikkaku with most of the duties. - Due to being Nozarashi, when Zaraki needs his weapon, she is not there with the others. However, if the weapon is not needed, she returns to her normal self. Unfortunately, this also means she doesn't get to grow up and remains her short, stubby little gremlin self. - Calling Nozarashi uses the Shikai, calling the sword Yachiru brings her back. - Unknown if she can use a gigai due to what she really is. (I'm leaning toward yessss) - Candy fiend. Will go feral if you don't share. - Has a new cellphone with a pink case and a Kuromi keychain. - She's friends with Nel Tu, and sometimes they'll go do some shenanigans in the Seireitei. - Her sense of direction gradually gets better, but she's never good at it. - She's learning how to write, definitely not the best. Yumichika tries. - A big fan of frozen hot cocoa, even if she gets brain freeze. - Still calls everyone by nicknames! - Her favorite flavor of ice cream is Cookie Dough, followed by Birthday cake. - She does complain about your height if she's on your shoulder and if you're shorter than Kenny. Thus, not giving her a good view of things. - Favorite boba tea is Strawberry. - There's a Yachiru tax now; every one must hand over their candy any time she visits. Candy, sweets... pastries are okay too!

Akina: - Akina has taught her glowstick dances, and Yachiru tries to teach them to Kenny. - She also likes to do Yachiru's nails. - Akina brings her back living world candy. - Her nickname is Aki.

Lyn: - Calls her a Dodo because of her surname, and also because dodos are extinct. She didn't believe the woman would last long in Squad 11. Despite doing fine. - Yells at her for not giving 100% of her all.

Narvi: - Wonders if that cloud (Shikai) is made of cotton candy. - Wants to know where she stores all of her tricks. (It's explained Narvi's pranks and tools are stuck in her sleeves via heavy-duty tape, hopes and dreams, gum and just licking and sticking.) - Definitely wants to go on a prank spree with her. Also, where does she get all of her peppy energy!? - Has pulled her hair to see if it was actually made of space dust. (It's not.)

Carries baby on his shoulders when they’re a little older. He constantly plays with them and his favourite part of the day is coming home from work to see his two loves.

Goes ape shit if another child pushes yours over. He will demand to see their parent immediately.

Reiner will certainly want more than one. He’d have probably about five kids, given how much he loves them (and loves making them)

WOULD NOT care if his little girl wants to get muddy with football or his boy wants to be a ballerina. He’ll support them unconditionally.

Reiner is an amazing father. A supportive and loyal husband too. He really is just the best <3

Disability headcanon ask game (shipping edition)!

I have tried to make this as inclusive as possible for all types of relationships (ie romantic, polyam, platonic, queer platonic, ect) alongside as inclusive as possible for all disability types.

If there's any issues with the way these questions are worded then feel free to let me know and I will change them. Anyway, on to the questions!

💐- Does [ship] fit into any x4x types? (ie cane user for cane user, sys4sys, ect)

🌸- Character A is having a bad disability day, how do their partner(s) help? Is there anything special they like to do? Does Character A accept their help?

💮- If one of the characters in the ship are having a bad disability day how long does it take the other(s) to pick up on the fact that they're struggling? Are they good at picking up on the signs, if not, is there a point that they do notice without being told?

🪷- If all characters in the relationship are disabled, what would happen if all of them were having a bad disability day?

🏵️- How do the characters in the ship react to their partner(s) looking after them? Is it easy for them to accept their partner(s) help? Has this changed over time?

🌹- How did the people in the relationship find out that their partner(s) are disabled? Was it a shock? Did the disability happen while they were already in their relationship?

🥀- What does a really really bad day look like for this ship? Do they ever fight over disability stuff? Do any of their disabilities negatively impact their relationship?

🌺- Have they have any comforting or happy stories around their disabilities? (Ie Character A gifting Character B the mobility aid they need, a time where Character B helped Character A in a way no one else had tried to before, ect)

🌻- Do they ever have to deal with ableism in regards to their relationship? How fo they deal with it?

🌼- If one of the characters disabilities is a progressive disability how do they plan their future? Does this impact their relationship as a whole?

🌷- How does being disabled imapct their love life? For example does it impact their date nights, activities they can and can't do as a couple, ect. (Note that this isn't a NSFW unless you want to answer it that way.)

🌱- If the ship were to get married how would their wedding accommodate their disabilities? Alternatively what would their house/appartment/whatever accommodate them?

🪴- If they plan on having a family how does being disabled effect this and their decision? Alternatively do they plan on having pets, of so how does being disabled impact their collective decision?

🌲- How do they accommodate eachother? Do they have a routine that helps with this? Do they do this consciously or subconsciously?

🌳- What would happen if they were to break up and/or loose eachother for any reason? How would this impact any party involved, would this trigger their disability?

🌴- If any of the people in the relationship have matching mobility aids medical aids, ect, do they have any funny stories or inside jokes about them?

🌵- If they were to have a date that incorporated their disability (ie a sensory friendly movie night, a day where they decorated their mobility aids together, ect) what would this be like?

Hiii!!! Sorry it's taken so long to reply, been too tired to make these headcanons but... I'm backkkkkk

🌺- Have they have any comforting or happy stories around their disabilities? (Ie Character A gifting Character B the mobility aid they need, a time where Character B helped Character A in a way no one else had tried to before, ect)

I think it was probably Dazai that has given Fyodor the most memorable stories (even if Dazai doesn't realize he's doing so)

For example he didn't react badly or try and restrain Fyodor when he was mid one of his meltdowns. In the past people has been unnecessarily cruel to him during these moments and Dazai (who understands them) stayed with him but also made sure he wasn't hurting himself or anyone else.

When Fyodor calmed down he was embarrassed about his breakdown and tried to run, Dazai allowed him to but also said that he had nothing to be ashamed of and that he made sure no one else saw him in such a vulnerable state.

An example on Dazai's side was the time that Dazai was struggling to feel anything other than the Void TM (chronic boredom) and Fyodor was the only person who was able to get him interested in living again.

🌷- How does being disabled imapct their love life? For example does it impact their date nights, activities they can and can't do as a couple, ect. (Note that this isn't a NSFW unless you want to answer it that way.)

Ironically I think it would impact them in a positive way? They're both awful influences on each other and they're also wonderful at being a good influence at the same time. I think in canon they would be Worse for eachother, but in an AU probably Better for eachother.

I think their disabilities impact how they arrange dates and the activities they do, especially because they're trying to impress and/or outsmart the other.
