Terry and Beloved reuniting after Terry being out of the country on business?

There is only ever one reason Terry Silver, on occasion, didn't always take you with him on trips, corporate overseas events, business meetings abroad, anywhere and everywhere that required him to travel and bring you along as his plus one, as his companion. As his confidante. Partner. Only one reason:

He enjoyed watching you run towards him at the airstrip.

And it was inexplicable, in effect. This unusual high he felt whenever he steps off of his private jet and you'd be there, as if on cue, in the hangar bay, arms open, welcoming him. A smile present. A thousand 'I missed you's'. Warm hugs. Kisses. Him barely containing himself from having you right there and then, undressing you on the way to the limo, all desperate, greedy fingers and ripped articles of clothes as you collide into each other's embraces; the distance making the heart, mind and the body all the fonder. The first time it happened was the first time he was ever separate from you, flying to a conference held in Davos, Switzerland. The Climate Change Summit, ironically on the subject of Clean, Renewable Energy. Dynatox's Green New Initiative. It even sounded morbidly funny, in many ways. But, that wasn't the point. Point was, when he landed in LA precisely a week later having concluded his business at the World Economic Forum, having kept in touch via phone and video calls that could only do so much to quench his yearning of you, serving as an elaborate edge more than anything else, having him haunt the small Alpic corporate hub like a feral, sex starved animal, you were present and spotting you through the airplane's window as he touched ground, the very sight of your tiny form in the distance, waving his arrival made him feel something he'd never confess to needing to feel; Feeling expected. Missed. Like someone was awaiting his return. Eagerly. With zeal. With devotion and conviction.

A sugar rush he needed more of.

Now, on a flight back from Seoul, the ritual repeats.

Terry can't help but envision himself as a Humphrey Bogart, in Casablanca as the skyline grid of the city down below comes into view through the clouds, the scenery black and white in his mind as a sordid, melancholy goodbye between lovers takes place, or his case, a Hello, welcome back. His father loved that crap noir movie when he was a kid. Terry had to confessed he did too. Something timeless and entirely too classical about the kissing in the rain, promising each other that We'll always have Paris. His very own Ingrid Bergan stands there, on the open concrete bay strip and he ponders sacrifice as a concept. He couldn't decide what made him happier; which option, rather. Taking you with him on every trip, every occasion he needed to be overseas, keeping you in every hotel, every exclusive suite, every conference room where your body's heat would be his delight and nourishment --- or deny himself for a short while of having you at arm's length as an act of discipline and a near Spartan feat of self-control solely so he could experience the joy of his absence meaning something to someone? Was it possible to do both? He should do both. Interchangeably. Take you with him on certain occasions and then leave you at home at other times, purely to enhance the delectable suffering, agony and euphoria of needing you as ardently as he did and knowing he was needed back, from half a world away. Almost like punishing himself deliberately, in a sense, to make the reward sweeter.

Delayed gratification.

A sadist being a sadist towards himself. A mental masochist.

You manage, between lips connecting fiercely, breathlessly. A couple of timezones intertwining in his mouth claiming yours and after several days passing in a blur of dreaming and fantasizing about you and watching you touch yourself for him through a camera, Terry is hungry for the inviting, sticky warmth of your saliva and how your tongue tastes tangled with his. Was it possible that reunions were an aphrodisiac for some people? A fetish? Did such a thing exist? Was such a thing even feasible? Maybe that's simply what love was.

Desire.

-"You missed me."-

Is all he says back, grimly, huskily, feeling himself twitch in his trousers, guiding your fingers to cup him. Feel him. Squeeze him through the tailored fabric. You barely even reach the backseat of the parked, chauffeured black Aston Martin awaiting on the sidelines to drive both you and him back to the mansion before he shuts the door behind himself, tinted windows up, and proceeds having you on the leather seating, soundproof, a one-way glass barrier separating you and him from the driver. Terry couldn't wait to plan the next trip. regardless if you'd come or stay here.

ZIM'S EMERGING LPG MARKET

An Interview with Chad Chawanda, Executive Chairman of Original Energy Resources

Zimbabwe is a nation that has bounced back economically following the collapse and eventual demise of the Zimbabwean dollar in 2009. The country is still suffering from widespread unemployment and high poverty rates but there is a need to compliment the nation’s economic resurgence with much needed sources of energy. To gain further insight into the LPG market in Zimbabwe, we spoke to Mr. Chad Chawanda, Executive Chairman at Original Energy Resources.

Chad is a highly motivated individual with over a decade of experience in the import and export industry. He began as an entrepreneur working in coal exports. He eventually started looking into LPG as an alternative clean energy fuel that did not face the same challenges as coal. He is a founding member and majority shareholder of Size Chunk Resources (Pvt) Ltd which has presence in Zimbabwe and South Africa. He is also a shareholder and board member of two other mining companies in Dubai and Zimbabwe. He is experienced in start-ups, strategic planning and business development. He is also currently studying an MBA – ‘Doing Business in Emerging Markets’ with the University of Liverpool.

He told us that his journey has been a long and interesting one. “It was brought about by the passion to provide energy solutions from understanding that there is a huge gap in the market”, he said. He said it was this that led him down the path to LPG. In his work at Original Energy Resources he says, that like most professionals in any industry, his role is to lead, motivate and achieve organisational objectives profitably. He explains that the division under Original Energy Resources that deals with LPG is Alpic Gas. Alpic Gas is an alternative energy related company that does LPG imports and distribution in Zimbabwe. The company owns a gas depot in the capital city of Harare.

We were keen to find out what exactly LPG was being used for. We suspected that, like other African nations LPG was purely for cooking however aside from that Chad also told us that it has some limited use in water geysers for crops. He went on to say that, “There is potential for growth but currently availability is mostly in urban areas and accessible to just a small percentage of the population which is predominantly due to the high initial cost of buying LPG equipment such as cylinders and tanks.”

He told us that the industry in Zimbabwe is dominated by a few companies, namely Zuma, Pioneer, BOC gas and Kensys with majority market share concentrated amongst Zuva, Pioneer and BOC Gas. He said there are smaller players such as Alpic Gas, Gas and Gear, Quality Gases and GP Gases. He said that the smaller players service a niche market where the big players are not completely involved.

We were curious as to the problems associated with market entry with which Chad explained to us that there is a high initial start-up cost, a complicated legal process, numerous fees and stringent policies to overcome. He said that there is also a huge shortage of readily available LPG equipment in Zimbabwe. This combined with a lack of qualified technical human resources, make the equipment that is available that much more expensive to use. He also said that LPG is relatively expensive at $1.50 – $2.00 per kg compared to paraffin which costs only $0.90 per litre. Considering that there are no subsidies currently in place, this is quite a hefty price to pay for those living in rural areas.

Chad believes that there is superior potential for growth in the country and it has been apparent over the past 10 years or so. We asked him what he felt were the motivating factors that were responsible for this growth. He told us that Zimbabwe has had a long history of erratic power supply and expensive electricity and that LPG was a very convenient fuel that could help in this area. He also said that combined with these problems, advancements in LPG technology has attracted new entrants into the industry and that this increased presence has had a positive effect on visibility and awareness of the uses of LPG.
