Honestly the person calling SCP was ever solely or mainly about liminal horror is just hilarious to me. Series I and II very much shows everthing is about a bunch of bureaucratic secret societies fucking with each other with a government found documents paint job.

Some of the first scp are:

Infinite pizza box with no tricks... it just gives you a slice of whatever pizza you want...

A doctor's liver

Lemon coca cola

God, but he's really wholesome and nice and just wanted a burger

A depresssed sentient tank

Two abandoned tug boats that were in love with each other... And then they were murdered

Flammable soy beans

Big anti-depression amoeba

This was established very early on that this 1. Isn't overally serious and 2. Scp are whatever the fuck you want them to be.
