#also i haven't rewatched the whole season in its entirety yet so i'm sorry if i've missed smth
Note
see the unfortunate bit about that whole shebang is that i'm only 12 episodes into jessica jones and i've only come across him briefly in the few comics i've read (barely skimmed his bit in the marvel encyclopedia 😅). obvi i'm fine w spoilers or else i wouldn't be scuttling through kilgrave fics like a coked up crab, but i have yet to observe his character so deeply as to develop thoughts on him that are anywhere near as deep (and genuinely amazing) as yours.
my thing is, i want to get through the series first. i need to know everything that's happening, so that when i go back and rewatch the show, i can pay more attention to the characters as themselves and their traits rather than the entire plot of the show. so right now i'm just vibing right through, making dumb and baseless observations likes "i think kilgrave would like the blueberry syrup at ihop" or "jessica seems like the person that emo kids aspire to be when they see her in passing"
i haven't taken the time to pick the characters apart quite yet, as for now i'm trying to watch the show as if i don't have adhd, even though i know it will consume my every waking thought as soon as i finish it 😂😭
this was a lot longer than i meant it to be, but it's 2 am and my edibles are kicking in 💀💀
xoxo, 🤡
Hi Clown Anon!
That is totally cool, and congrats on being nearly finished with season one!
I think you're going about this the right way, watching the whole show before doing deep dives. I have watched the entire show once and season one... probably twice in its entirety and a few select episodes a few more times, so sorry if I got a little intense on that last ask! I have thought about these characters probably more than is healthy, which helps with writing them (also, omg, you are too sweet!), but when it comes to just talking about them, I have no chill. ^_^;
This blog supports just vibing and fun headcanons! I cannot fathom a universe in which that Jessica HC is not completely on point. BD
They made a number of changes to the Kilgrave character in the Netflix adaptation, all of which I found made him a far more compelling character than his comic book counterpart. If you're looking for a good comic though, I highly recommend Purple Daughter (preferably checked out at your local library or purchased at a comic book shop for only a few more bucks than it would cost on Amazon). The art is beautiful, Jessica is badass, the mind control powers... let's just say the way they're used gave me ideas, and the phrase "diamond boobs" is spoken, so a good time is had by all.
