thinking about those characters that show up in video games sometimes that betray you and then when you survive they immediately backtrack and apologize and beg for mercy. love those guys

For the ask game X

This is gonna sound so false but uh... I dont really have a list?

Like, let me explain, I love a lot of characters, I would even say I stan quite a few but I'm also not really inclined to classify them in that way? They're just like 'wow I think this character is cool I like them' and that's it?

I know a few people who have favourite characters that will never ever change but I'll be honest most of my favourite characters can change in a singular conversation? I also wouldnt say I'm inclined to 'die defending' any particular character?

A list of characters that I would say are in the least fluctuation though would have to be:

Eri (BNHA) purely because like, let this child live a life of some happiness without tearing the rug out from under her good god!

Kellen (Spellslinger) because he's a disaster, he's well aware of it and the books could be literally summed up as 'Kellen is trying his best to varying degrees of success'. Not always a good person but he's the protagonist and I think he's a really good one. Definitely feels like a 3D person. My only problem with him is how his culture and race are displayed rather drastically differently- but that was cleared up in later books but is still a bit dicey with me.

Fujioka Haruhi (OHSHC) need I say more? My second ever anime that kind of set the bar a bit too high. Like I've seen shows with better animation and inarguably better put together storylines but Haruhi holds my heart because she's level headed but is allowed to be angry, she's tomboyish but is allowed to be girly and she's allowed to be independent whilst falling in love both romantically and platonically. Also let's be honest Ouran was ahead of it's time and we all love Haruhi and her father (using that term because said character uses that term even if it doesn't necessarily match their identity)

Shiota Nagisa (Assassination Classroom) - I love this anime in its entirety- I usually hate fan service jokes because 90% of shows I've seen where fan service is the subjects are underage and it just makes me uncomfortable but if you like fan service then that's your taste but Ms.Bitch is really funny, almost made this one for her- Nagisa is such an interesting character and (despite the over use of cross dressing jokes) I love how his apperance is used as something to be utilised and reclaimed for him. But also just tiny, very filled with rage child? Something I can get behind.

Inej (Six of Crows) once more, need I say more? A strong woman who's faced disgusting traumatizing things but is pushing herself forward with her life while still facing repercussions- CAN WE SAY HELL YEAH FOR CHARACTERS SUFFERING ACTUAL CONSEQUENCES FOR TRAUMA AND IT NOT BEING PITY POINTS- while still being a badass. Also her life goal is to go around on a pirate ship murdering slave traders because she was a sufferer of the slave trade? Also one of the first times she speaks is just like:

Her holding a knife to someone's throat and telling them she likes it when men beg for their lives?? Because she had no control over her body or her life for a time and now she enjoys having bodily autonomy and control over her life and others??

Anyway I hoped this sufficed!!
