Gabe walks in on Jack professing his love to Reader after Jesse wakes him up (previous ask; from Jack knocking him out) and this only him to openly expressing his heartache to them by him crying. He begs Reader to take him back but Jack blocks Gabe from seeing Reader but manages to get to Reader begging her to take him back . Then Moira pops up out of nowhere trying to coerce Gabe to her office out of "concern". Gabe looks at Moira out of fear and both Reader and Jack immediately senses this.

Then Reader being a clever one clutches onto Gabe knowing what is actually happening to Gabe. So her and Jack look at each other in the eye knowing what’s actually going on. So Jack steps in front of both of them ordering Moira to leave, she does. Later on Jack, Gabe and Reader are all in the same room getting a run down on Gabe’s odd behaviour. Reader grabs onto Jacks hand asking him to leave so her and Gabe can talk alone but he kisses her on the cheek b4 he leaves. In the end Reader tells (2/3) 

Gabe that she doesn’t want to be with him because of what he done to her but the lies that he told her b4 the incident. But she tells him that she’s willing to be in his life as a friend and wants to ensure that Gabe gets better but nothing else. Which is bittersweet for Gabe bc he still loves and wants to be with her but now she’s only there for him as a friend. (3/3)

Gabe knows that after waking up he’s lost you, with how close you are standing to Jack, how Jack’s angled himself to step in front of you if needed. How your hands are intertwined with one another’s that your knuckles are white. The dark finger-shaped bruises on your neck hurt him to see, he put those there he sure as hell doesn’t deserve you after hurting you, but God’s he cannot stop the words coming out of his mouth. 

“Please stay with me.” he doesn’t even recognize his own voice, it’s small, broken and fearful. Nothing like how he usually sounds, and he see’s that when he looked at you and Jack. 

Moira’s appearance puts a halt to any questions or further understanding of how his voice sounds, fear is the only thing that he feels. Both you and Jack seem to pick up on this, letting go of your hand Jack commands the doctor to leave, hating the little smirk and small wave that was thrown his way before she left. While you held his hand, letting him lean into your form, breathing in your familiar comforting scent while Jack watched from the side while looking relaxed Golden Boy would jump at a moments notice if anything changed. 

He’s always been like that when it comes to you. Jack leaves the room after you ask him too, how unhappy he is about it is plain as day to see and the moment his back turns, the door closes Gabe kisses you on the cheek and follows suit. 

Ignoring the pain in his heart to go back, to take him back, but he knows. He knows that he’s lost you to Jack. The lies, and everything he didn’t tell you before. 

He knows. 

He still lies, telling you and Jack only the bare minimum, not wanting you to know the full extent of what is happening to him. What Moira is doing to him. He wasn’t sure if he was sparing the two of you or sparing himself, but he didn’t want to see those looks of pity on your faces. 

You are the first to speak, walking towards him, taking his hands into your own and looking at him with such a sincere smile and voice that it breaks his heart to listen to everything. 

How the two of you are no longer together, but how you will still be there to help him, to make sure that he’s getting better. Jack also says that he’ll help out, he’ll look more into Moira and what is being done and see if Angela can help him get better. 

You are now a friend and nothing else, it’s bittersweet since he still loves you so much, but at least you are not leaving him entirely. You’re still here, no longer as his lover, but as his friend.
