😅 What's a fic or scene or a smidge embarrassed exists?

Wouldn't say I'm embarrassed but I know they're self indulgent as fuck. Both A Court of Emerald & Sapphire and Road to Ruin.

Both first are prequels made to gush over my faves and oc's without interfering with the main story and have lower hits than the main story. Which honestly I get I made them more for myself than anything else but both fics are very clearly self indulgent and can be skipped if desired.

😈 Has there been any point in a story where you did something just ot be playfully mean to your readers?

Not having the Azalea beat down from Ch 10 of A Court of Threads & Daisies include Tamarand and Lucien. People wanted them to throw hands too but that would've ended the story way too soon and fluff won over action like it always does.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics?

Music. Every fanfic of mine has a Playlist. With the Acotar ones I plan to take it further with the song quotes in each chapter.

⏳ How long does it take you to write a fic or chapter?

For chapters it depends on inspiration, reception and chapter length or scenes.

If I am inspired I can put out a chapter in 2 or 3 days tops but it has to be a calm chapter. It has a fight scene or sex scene it takes longer.

If reception is good and people are excited then that motivates me a lot more.

There was one chapter in Roud to Ruin that was a Canon fight but from the pov of the 'antagonist' character so I had to rewatch the 45 min fight, then write back the dialouge and actions but make it from the opposing pov. That chapter is 14k words long and I still feel I had to cut loads.

This is how long its taken to write each full length fic

Road to Ruin- 9 months, no pauses or working on other fics

Road to Redemption- Pt 1 and 2 took one year each but with a 9 month gap to write the Ruin prequel in the middle of it cuz spoilers for pt 2 without the prequel. So 3 years

A Court of Emerald & Sapphire- 3 months if I finish in January 2 if I finish before New Years

A Court of Threads & Daisies- 8 months if I finish in December but I might finish in January so 9 months tops

The Running Free- A month but that one's a one-shot song fic

Upcoming:

Road to Recovery- Probably from 2 to 5 months depending on how the draft changes and reception

A Court of Flame & Sorrow- That one might be from 9 months to a year

Unamed Acotar fic (book 3)- Not even the first draft is done but this one is meant to be the end of the acotar fics so from 1 year to 3 years and that's if I take from canon when SJM decides to concentrate on Koschei, the exiles and the protagonists for book 3 (🤫 Spoilers for 1 and 2 if I tell you the protagonists and main ships)
