finally completed the culmination of several months of work. im very proud of myself; i am now hosting my own website off a baremetal server in my home. i am also running librex on it, available to the public, and plan to self-host some more useful tools on it in the near future. ill do a more lengthy blog post on the process on my actual blog in the near future as well. the website is a available here. this is definitely not anything impressive to anyone with any real experience, but ive spent the past several months teaching myself everything required to do this from the ground up. i built a computer from scratch, i chose and installed a linux distribution and installed it, i configured an apache webserver from scratch and set up everything required to work on it remotely... blah. this took a long time to figure out from the ground up so i think i have the right to be proud of myself lol

the obvious/most common scenario is, “i would like to work on some hypervisor code, but i do not have access to a local machine (or the baremtal of a remote machine),” or sometimes “i would like to work on a hypervisor, and while i do have a local environment, if i could run it in inside a cloud VM i would get access to some hugeass # of cores and/or some fancy-ass hardware doohickeys”

like, obviously if this scenario is common for you, you should just Have An Environment Set Up For Such A Purpose TM—if you’re working on network drivers or fancy virtualized GPU shit or whatnot, you just, like, need a baremetal machine, full stop (particularly since nested virt bugs are real and make time go wonky, and if you’re hacking on hypervisor code you probably care about that shit)

but sometimes you spot some cool research-y code that does something cool with a fork of QEMU, and you’re like, damn i wonder if it’d be possible/easy to run that in some preexisting infrastructure we have, and it’d be nice to be able to test & play around with the quick & dirty approach, rather than being like UGH can’t do NESTED time to go get a huge FUCKOFF BIGASS MACHINE for my QUICK SILLY IDEA

Как думаете на/в какой(каких) организациях работал бы первый робот, исполняющий миротворческую деятельность?

Робот, коорый сохраняет мир во всем мире? 🤔... Помоему он очень даже вписывается в Юнеско, ООН, и правозащитные организации изначально.

Полезно иметь открытые проекты по роботизации, очень не плохо сейчас идет открытость технологичеаких процессов, да, как бы могло казаться что все печально, за то сектор тткрытого прогоаммного обеспечения точно просто очень огромен. А так на самом деле сектор просвящения электро механники, и роботизации подтягивается.

И чего не хватает по моему мнению так это открытых репозитариев, которые в хорошо "упакованном виде" делают более мощный инфо интерес... А это да, автор точно должер быть заинтересован в этом серьёзно... Что бы пользователи, которые пушат в репазитарий, еще версионность вели по открытым вещам. Да, я про NLP читал, как раз какая то информация про потенциал RISC-V процессоров была описана. Кстати, что инререссно, брал плату на kickstarter, так эта организация вроде как нормально подошла к вопросу с медью на плате. Не так обьемно как показалось. Да, и подход у организации RISC-V INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE тоже на самом деле был в начале не плохой, не знаю как сейчас дела обстоят, были какие то гообальные ржменения, точно не помню.

Но это реально большое сообщество.

Потенциально, кстати что я читал статью, кто то даже архитектуры вообще уже хоронит в статьях, и даже RISC, ну это вечная тема... но сама организация как таковая хорошую почву для открытости и вовлеченности делает.

Так по интеллекту и обработке именно больших данных такие камни монут быть очень не плохими... Как и сама архитектура, в виду того что упрощенно, и почти от самого нуля можно знакомиться, с baremetal,на мрого проше, потому как просто не такой огромный конвеер инструкций процессора, например как у x86, когла посмотрите докумертацию на тот или иной ��роцессор, где на каждую модель, если велосипед делать то это наверно добрую часть жизни на личный процессор можно потратить, особенно с нуля не следить за докумениацией.
