i actually think he had bitchy poker face most of the time, to the point people got surprised when they see him break character and emote. (and why his/james relationship is such a !!! thing)

and i see it as a control thing for him; u decide how much of urself u wanna show the people around u. developed as a survival/coping mechanism during his childhood where he could rile his parents up by pretending to not care.

i also think the most visible emotion for him was anger, and that’s also mostly bc he’s so terrifying when he’s in a rage lol.
