joe is plural. there's joe, and beetlejhost. (or, as a few call him, just 'beetle' works fine.)

joe is much more reserved in his love for the hermits. subtle gifts and kind gestures, little things he does that he knows make everyone's hearts pound. (he's lived with them for over 10 years, after all. he knows what they like.)

and while the whole server is a mess of love, joe's especially close with cleo. they aren't dating, per se, but it definitely isn't completely platonic either. it changes with their moods and the day, and no one really knows the pattern to it. joe and cleo simply go with the flow, whatever feels right. they aren't fans of big displays of affection (especially kissing, at least on joe's side - he likes pecks from cleo, though) but they do get all lovey dovey with one another when alone.

beetle though? he's an entirely different story.

although most hermits don't know of them being plural, beetle is always a little brave when he fronts. he's the opposite of subtle, giving grand gifts and being the flirtiest man around. (only being challenged by keralis, really.)

people often question it, "why does joe act so different sometimes", but joe being joe? they just assume its a normal thing. and it kinda is, pretty much.

oh! but beetle's adventures dont stop there.

see, the two of them (joe&beetle) are whitelisted to the helsmits server. that's when beetle is the craziest. due to being out as plural there, he can be as wild as he want without worry of raising suspicion, he can be himself. he loves the helsmits just as much as they love him, and its a blast! truly, so much fun.

(p.s. can you tag this as BOTH polyhermits and joexcleo(or whatever tag u use for them)? maybe polyhelsmits too idk. i just want all three tagged not just one big combo tag thank you)

Beetle doesn’t seem to realize that all his flirting is actually making people fall in love with “joe”. It was quite shocking and amusing when the other figured out that Joe and Beetle were plural.

Beetlejhost met the reader when the reader had stumbled into the afterlife while clearly being alive still.

He wanted to make sure he could see the outside world again and had truck the reader to make a deal, (kinda like Say My Name in the beetlejuice musical)

He however ended up falling in love with them, and when the reader died from natural causes, they entered the afterlife with Jhost as what they look like when they first met

When Zedace unfuse you would expect Zed to be more flirty to the other fusions and Ace to be more reserved, right? WRONG. So wrong. This man (gender neutral) has basically swept all of the other fusions off their feet. Zed is flirty too, but geez, Ace even flirts with the hermits who AREN'T fusions! Specifically, I'm talking about Beef, Ren, Tango, and Keralis, and all of the Hels hermits, Minus True bc she and False are asexual. Aceaph could literally sweep anyone off of their feet xe likes because they got blessed by a MAJOR love god.

I've been thinking about the Herelsmit fusions (couldn't come up with a better name) and I wanna talk about how they formed.

For GnG, it was a pretty standard story. Ariana, Gealach, and Grian found out about it pretty early in their lives, so all of their parents gatekept them for their entire young ages (up until they were teens). It was like the whole 'Do you wanna build a Snowman' situation, except for they didn't do it on purpose. They met each other again later, (when they were all 16, because quadruplets) and they fused. The reason why Poultry Man doesn't fuse with them is A) the first time, Ariana grew an abundance of feathers, As well as him getting watcher powers which is how he is able to pull eggs from seemingly nowhere, and how Ari got her feathery scarf, it's all chicken feathers and B) He respects and loves his siblings, but he does not like being with people very often. This is why he never got a sidekick. He's not even an introvert, he loves going outside! He just doesn't want to be around people all the time.

For Xenuma, it gets a bit harder. see, that story stretches a little bit longer. The Green Thing (the one that harms Evil X canonically) had control over evil X, and Xisuma had to get Xen to fix it. It took a while (like 3 fourths of a month) to figure out what to do to help them, but The Green Thing was getting weak so it temporarily released Evil X from control. Speed forward a week later, Evil X is all good to tell their siblings how to free them, which is to cut off all contact and to kill them. So, Xen and Xisuma basically do the opposite of that, and they fused based on a pledge to never let each other get hurt or something, Green Thing get defeated, blah blah blah a few months from now, and Alex got their name changed and as for the siblings, they are doing great and have been ever since. Also, Xisuma is aroace, Xen is Aro and Alex is ace, so yeah. They all use they/xe pronouns, but Xenuma uses Xe/Xem pronouns.

Pt. 1

Also, New Fusion! BeetleJowoe, a fusion of BeetleJoWost, BeetleJhost, Jhost, JoWost, and Joe. Part Ghost, part demon, part cryptid, part cat... Shares a gender with HalfSense, TWS, Els, Ishett, and Zedace. Uses it/ its, mor/morn, poet/poets, and ghoul/ghouls pronouns. Also, They didn't fuse together, they separated for the first time, and it felt amazing for all of them. :) They all use the same pronouns, except for Joe is the only one who uses poet/poets, it also uses cryptid/cryptids, and doesn't use ghoul/ghouls, and obviously, none of them use mor/morns except for BeetleJoWoe. (I made a mistake and said that HallfSense was at day AND morning, that's not true, HalfSense is just at daytime, just like Ishett is just at night. Not in the morning, not in the afternoon.

I'll cover the rest later bc my hands kind of hurt now, but in the meantime, I want to hear your thoughts on this one: How would BeetleJoWoe, HalfSense, TWS, Zedace, Ishett, and Els meet? (Not in the "how did they fuse" sense, but in the "what's their romantic backstory" sense.)

I feel like it would be a mess, for one until Ex came to the server Hels and Hermits were separated, with Hel Joes being the exception. The Hels would be aggravated and irritated, Els would have a hard time getting together because of how different they are. HalfSense would be putting multiple idiots in a room and expecting them to figure a way out, when the door is unlocked and there’s a bunch of colored up stuff. BeetleJoWoe TWS and Zedace all are equally dumb and yet they are also not oblivious.

Hels!Cleo wants more then just Hels!Joe. She's greedy, and so she kidnaps Regular Joe so that she has TWO boyfriends instead of just one. Regular Cleo obviously isn't good enough for regular Joe anyway.

AngelCleo quickly gets frustrated with her new catch. After all, she’s seen how Joe adores Cleo, and she’s just Cleo but better! He should love her! But instead, he scratches at the walls of his obsidian box until Angel has to patch the holes he made, and refuses to even talk to her. That ungrateful brat.

Despite despising him, AngelCleo wants BeetleJhost back. He was a good servant, and it's better to have one of those ghostly freaks waiting on you hand and foot than allowing them to roam free. Angel finds out (probably through Helsknight) that BJ's on Hermitcraft. She goes so far as to kidnap and torture ZombieCleo and disguise herself as her counterpart. If she has to act like a dirty undead to get BJ back, so be it. - #

Angel didn’t count on anyone looking for Cleo, though. After all, who would tell the difference? And who would care? After all, she’s much better than that old corpse anyway. But Joe cares. BeetleJhost helps him frantically search for Cleo and dig up her coffin. He can’t help but feel a stab of jealousy at the way the two embrace each other, nearly weeping with relief. Cleo was supposed to be his friend.

Hels Joe and Cleo are the King and Queen of Hels. They're the closest bond, trusting each other with everything, from the smallest thing to their own lives. It's why they became the rulers, no one else could form and stick to a bond like they do. Together, their thirst for blood and iron grip on Hels is feared and admired.

The other Hels hermits don’t quite understand why they trust each other. They’ve even opened up opportunities for them to backstab the other, and they... didn’t. How bizarre.

OMG this slaps. The other hels hermits have to wonder if Beetlejhost is stupid or just deep in denial, but either way it’s pretty entertaining to watch Angel break his heart repeatedly! Especially since it only seems to strengthen his feelings for her. BeetleJhost has "broken up" with AngelCleo many times. She says the wrong thing, lets him know she doesn't reciprocate. He goes off on his own, says he's done with her, only to come back a week later just as lovestruck as before. And AngelCleo is just as ready to manipulate him, exploit him for whatever she needs. He'll wait on her every desire at the drop of a hat, and she'll gladly let him. Then she slips up, and the cycle repeats with no end in sight. - #

When BeetleJhost breaks up with AngelCleo for the last time, it isn't pretty. There's lots of yelling and threats (mostly from Angel to BJ). It ends with BJ holding back tears, walking out of Angel's abode never to return. He has to restrain himself; the power he holds could wipe out an entire block, and despite his greed, he doesn't want to kill anyone. He leaves Hels entirely for a while, eventually finding his way to ZombieCleo's doorstep. She takes him in (just as a friend) for the night. -#

Cleo knows that taking in her friend’s evil clone is probably a bad idea. But also... wouldn’t she want people to do the same for her? Didn’t the hermits do the same for her, when she was fleeing more hostile worlds? So she lets him sleep in her storage room, with the promise to break his legs if he takes anything. The threats make BeetleJhost feel safer. At least Cleo isn’t pretending to like him.

The BeetleJhost thinks that the others are going to be somewhat calm, hed be the odd one out (literally a ghost!), but he was wrong. It turns out that Mumbo always has a new redstone contraption to show off and that Cub usually is busy digging for more netherite or diamonds (the netherite always is split, while diamonds only go to Mumbo, BeetleJhost cant touch them.)

Another good thing: they arent awoken by the rattling of his chains because they're practically nocturnal. -🥪

BJ likes to make a show out of distracting them. It rarely works.

BeetleJhost is a very clever individual. That said, his love for AngelCleo blinds him to her manipulation. Once he realizes she doesn't love him, he walks away. But somehow, AngelCleo always convinces him to come back. Until one day, BJ ends it for good. He figures out that Angel never has and never will love him. He's so betrayed, and wants to hope he's wrong... but deep down he knows he needs to end things, for his own sake. - #

Maybe that’s what gets him to the good hermits’ side.
