VALLEN VALLEN VALLEN- 3, 29, 30 on the ask meme? (@markynaz)
i answered 3 here !!
What happens to them in the aftermath of the events of Morrowind? Where are they during subsequent events such as the Oblivion Crisis and Red Year?
oh boy this got a bit ,, long. and also not very lore-friendly but it’s MY incarnate I get to control the kinghood
after a brief but passionate affair with mehra milo, she rejoins barenziah’s revenge, only to discover that, without a ship and their smuggling operation gone, they became mercenaries. that’s when she remembers a certain dwemer ship, crashed on the island of solstheim ...
so j’kha rounds up the crew, and with the help of his magic and dwemer know-how, get the ship up and running again! so, now, a bunch of idiots and nerevar himself have a flying dwemer airship. they fly off to akavir! they have a lot of Odd Adventures there that i’ll probably write about one day but --
when both delvon and sul-enne’s ancestors are suddenly much more numerous, they realize something must have happened. so, after over a decade in akavir, they return to tamriel and realize that, not only has the oblivion crisis happened, but red mountain erupted -- vallen, realizing how many people were looking up to her for guidance, officially leaves barenziah’s revenge. she and the rest of the crew help lead groups of refugees out of morrowind, and essentially clean up the aftermath.
after the empire looses enough of its power, helseth is pretty much a useless king, and the people don’t exactly like him -- they do, however, like his champion, the legendary nerevar himself. though helseth remains king in name only, vallen finds herself as the true leader of morrowind, to her surprise, and the crew of barenziah’s revenge becomes an unofficial council. she reconnects with and eventually marries mehra milo. by that time, she’s pretty much exclusively going by ‘nerevar’, and eventually, the crew grow old and (shockingly) die peaceful deaths.
nerevar continues to lead morrowind through the troubled times. she and mehra help sul-enne and delvon’s family, and she continues to be the unofficial ruler up until helseth’s death, when she assumes the title of hortator of all morrowind. she’s still doin’ her best during the events of skyrim, with the added bonus of getting to see a dragon every now and then.
she also really wants to punch ulfric stormcloak. not go to war with skyrim, morrowind has seen enough war. but like ...... she really wants to personally punch him.
Are they proud of themselves? Do they see themselves as a hero?
she doesn’t, but she sees why others do, if that makes sense. she’s guilty over red mountain’s eruption and over being blackmailed into being an imperial agent, but she also realizes that she did, you know, save the world. she has ... mixed feelings. she’s proud of what she did, but doesn’t see herself as a hero -- just another flawed person caught up in the whirlwind that is life on tamriel.
