I think if tomgreg became canon it would be accidental and stress-induced. I don't think, given the person Tom is and the kind of stress he's going to be under in season 4, that Tom would make any sort of deliberate effort to woo Greg, and I don't think it would even occur to Greg to make some kind of pass at Tom. I think a tomgreg relationship would come about the same way every deepening of their relationship has come about - Tom finds himself emotionally isolated in a high-stress situation, and consequently turns to Greg as an emotional outlet because the power dynamic means Greg can be relied upon not to run away. This has happened so, so consistently every single season that it's virtually guaranteed to happen again in season 4, and given that one significant source of stress in season 4 will be his relationship with Shiv, Tom making a sudden sexual pass at Greg in a moment of intense stress or emotional upheaval does seem very much in the realm of plausibility. And I don't think Greg would reject that, for a myriad of reasons, but mostly boiling down to Greg's own isolation and emotional reliance on Tom. If that happened, I think there's the strong possibility of a deeply dysfunctional romantic relationship emerging out of that because of who Tom and Greg are, and how they grab at any strand of genuine affection that's offered to them
