Boarding school rp Mute! Seb
You're now chatting with a random stranger. Say STAND WITH HONG KONG AGAINST THE CCP!
You both like mormor.
Stranger: (MorMor) Sebastian Moran (16) was born mute. Nothing special. He just couldn’t talk. His head was wired a bit differently. He got on well enough being normal in every way but that. Apart from being in trouble all the time and being a bit of a punk. Although it made the fight that he’d gotten into rather difficult to explain. Which is how he ended up here at a new boarding school, expelled from his old one and on a scholarship that had somehow opened up. Sighing Sebastian sat down in seat at the back in the corner, he was grateful the room was still empty and yet to be filled by the other students. But then again it was the beginning of the day and the first class.
You: Jim (15) had a wealthy family and that meant he was in a boarding school for most of his life. His parents didn't want to bother raising him and would much rather pay someone else to deal with their troublesome son. Jim was bright- much smarter than his teachers and he knew it. Yet Jim's grades would have you thinking he was an idiot, in actually Jim just didn't care- all of the material was boring to him, he loathed being here, he was teased constantly for being smaller than the other boys and he didn't play sports so he didn't really have any friends. The only reason Jim had gone to class so early was the before school detention he was assigned and escorted to. He entered the class room to find another boy sitting in the empty classroom. He frowned- he was new. Jim would have noticed the other before if he wasn't. He was very handsome. Jim walked over and sat two rows across from the new boy, not quite brave enough to introduce himself.
Stranger: Sebastian looked up from the text book he was poking at. Maths at the very least and physics was of potential use to him. So he was at least interested in finding out if he was ahead or behind with this school transfer. The boy that entered was pretty in that posh sort of way that seemed to lead to more trouble than it was worth. He might be bi as hell but he was clearly not in his league. Taking a breath he found himself unable to guess if he was behind or ahead so he set the book down and settled back to watch the new comer. Least he had something nice to look at for a while.
You: Jim felt the other looking at him and finally turned his head, "I doubt you've already gotten detention, its your first day..are you just eager to get to class or something?" he asked, he was a little surprised that he'd gotten the courage up to actually talk to the new, handsome boy but it was just too awkward to sit in silence like he wasn't there.
Stranger: Sebastian snorted a very odd aborted sound when he was asked that. Akin to a strangled goose. The tops of his ears flushed briefly. But he got up slowly. Walking over to sit on top of a desk next to the boy he pulled out a card. Laminated and utterly wrinkled, torn at a corner, yet very much a life line. Sebastian Moran. Mute. Yes, I can hear you. It means I can not speak. Can speak through my tech or sign British Sign Language. I'll have the card back.
You: Jim was a bit confused at the sound that came out of the other, and even more confused when he stood up and sat closer to him. He read the card and nodded, "Oh. Jim." he introduced himself. He handed the other back his card, it had clearly been used a million times. "I learned sign language a bit in elementary, I'm rusty." he explained. He looked the other over, he was tall and quite built. Just looking at him made Jim's stomach have knots.
Stranger: Sebastian nodded. Sticking to small and common signs as he knew how, signed, 'How'd you have a chance to learn to sign?' It was a curious thing. But he stayed quite passive, his elbow going to his knee and chin in his hand as he watched the other boy... Jim.
You: Jim had to access knowledge he hadn't bothered with in years but it started to click quickly. "Oh- I got bored." he answered. "I know French too and Gaelic-obviously." he answered. "I taught myself..thought it'd be useful one day..guess I was right." he joked.
Stranger: That had a small smile quirk at the corner of his mouth. 'Gaelic would be a stretch to sign. And French is a pain in the arse.' He signed, finger spelling some of it. 'If I could speak my first language was Welsh.' He added unintentionally letting it out that he once could speak. 'You... look intimidated by me a bit. That a problem?'
You: Jim had caught the mention of once being able to talk. He wanted to know more but knew that was an invasive question and he had only just met the other. The whole school practically hated him and he was doing his best to not add another person to that list. Jim blushed as he made out the last part of what Sebastian was signing, appreciating the spelling out of certain words he wouldn't have remembered. He laughed softly-trying to play off his embarrassment of being called out. Right-bring back the gay Jim. He already got bullied for being a queer. "Most guys your size are trying to beat me up. You're taller than I guessed.-and I'm..awkward sorry." he excused. He looked down briefly, "Where'd you go before this hell hole?"
Stranger: 'Most guys are straight when they happen to have muscle.' Sebastian signed with a shrug. He made a so-so gesture. A silent half half. He knew he was risking the obvious rejection over him guessing wrong. But he'd only met one boy that skittish and he certainly hadn't been straight. So he went on and signed, 'It'd be a bit dim of me beating up the one bloke so far that can understand me with out having to type things out. It's a nice change.' He jerked his head to the north wall. 'Public school down the way.' He had money. Just no access to it until he was 18 apart from school costs and a small living stipend.
You: Jim's heart nearly leapt out of his chest when Sebastian oh so casually mentioned he wasn't straight. Were they..flirting then? Jim's mouth suddenly felt very dry, "I'll have to brush up on sign again so you don't have to spell out everything I don't know." he gave a soft smile. He hoped that showed he wanted to talk to Sebastian again. "You're not going to meet anyone who can sign..and the kids here are dicks." he warned. "Though I don't think they'll bother you. You look like you could rough someone up quite easily.." he said this with a particular purr in his voice. This time not hiding the fact that he was ogling Sebastian's body.
Stranger: Bullseye. Sebastian thought to himself. But that purr.... damned but that was attractive. 'Dicks. Cunts. Usually boring as hell. But knocking heads is something that I do rather well. Just gotta convince the rugby coach he'd be stupid not to let me on the team.'
You: Jim chuckled, "I'm sure they'll be happy to have you." he shifted in his seat. "Middle of the year transfer..? You must of gotten in trouble or your family moved." he questioned. He was a bit proud of himself, he'd kept the conversation going without making an idiot of himself.
Stranger: Sebastian sighed. 'Finally got in a fight, That I finished mind you. But couldn't get out of. Stupid really. Apparently my Da, the bastard of all bastards had a grudge with that kids Da and....' He rolled his eyes.
You: Jim nodded as he followed along, he smirked. "Ah well. Feel free to put the idiots in their place. They need it. Everyone here is very entitled. " he rolled his eyes, "Let me see your schedule, maybe we've got more than one class together."
Stranger: Sebastian glanced back at his bag on the far side of the room. Then looked to Jim. 'Mind being on that side of the room?' He signed wanting his back to the wall with all the new people around him that was going to happen soon as the bell rang. But he got up and went back to the desk he had staked out as his own earlier to dig in his bag. He was fairly certain that they wouldn't have much luck with the schedule thing. Because he was going to enlist as soon as he was able. And classes lining himself up for command didn't match up well with a civilian life.
You: Jim nodded, "Sure." he grabbed his bag and sat in the seat beside Sebastian's. He rose an eyebrow as he read the other's schedule. "Military?" he questioned. He frowned and handed the paper back to Sebastian. "you know they dumb those classes down. You don't seem like an idiot."
Stranger: Sebastian frowned at that. 'Seriously?' He asked annoyed by that thought. But he drummed his fingers light on his desk for a moment. But took the paper then looked at Jim. 'You got a recommendation to go along with that wildly accurate guess at me wanting to enlist?' There was something there he wasn't sure what it was. But he rather liked it.
You: Jim smirked, "I don't know, all the classes are boring. I started in Advanced placement but it wasn't any harder than the normal classes." he rolled his eyes. "Most kids who plan on going to the military don't care about school at all, they're just psychos who want to kill people and get away with it. Or they have no other skills." he looked the other over, "Please tell me you didn't get my hopes up. You're not an idiot are you?"
Stranger: Sebastian rolled his eyes at that. But he shook his head. 'Just a mild propensity towards violence.' He admitted. Then crumpled up a spare bit of paper and threw it without looking at the waste bin. It went in without any issue. 'And a steady hand.'
You: Jim smirked, "Show off." he teased. "I'd just enroll in the normal classes, you might learn something." he frowned as he was cut off by the bell. Great, students would start filing in soon. "The teachers going to try and introduce you. Might want to show him your card so he doesn't drag you in front of everyone." he warned.
Stranger: Sebastian made a disgruntled face at that. But he went up and set his card on the teacher's desk. 'There is no way in bloody hell that I will be going up in front of the bloody class.' He signed before he crossed his arms. Petulant and a hair dramatic.
You: Jim chuckled, "The second I got up there I got made fun of for my accent. Got called a fuckin leprechaun for the first month I was here." he rolled his eyes. Jim was an easy target-small and shy. "None of the teachers are going to know sign either. "
Stranger: Sebastian made an aggravated huff of air. But he pulled out his phone and tapped quickly at it. 'I can speak if they bloody well need me to. But I'm not going to go up and perform for laughs.' That idea had well and truly annoyed him. So did the idea of such a pretty boy being called a leprechaun. Setting his phone aside he looked at Jim. 'You might be short. But at least you don't have the Hitler youth thing going for you.'
You: Jim rose an eyebrow, "You weren't born mute?" he asked, he made an exaggerated gasp as he was called short. "I'm not that short..I think I'm just not done growing yet." he joked softly-able to poke fun at himself. "And you're more Hitlers taste don't you think, blonde, blue eyes-perfect?" the last part sort of slipped out.
Stranger: Sebastian licked his lip slowly. Biting at his lip he took a breath before shaking his head. 'Traumatic experience. Least that's what they keep telling me. Da was too much of a bastard for me to believe it tho.' He signed letting his phone stay silent for the moment. 'Blue eyes-perfect?' He signed at the end shifting to sit on his desk again, and a bit closer to Jim.
You: Jim wanted to know what Sebastian meant by that but he didn't pry, besides other students were filing in now and he knew this wasn't the time to pry into Sebastian traumatic past. "Don't be humble, you own a mirror, you know damn well you're attractive." he signed this. He was rusty and a bit slower than Sebastian but he liked that they could talk to one another without anyone knowing what they were saying. He'd figured it'd be better to sign that than openly flirt with Sebastian with others around, he didn't need another beating for being a queer and he didn't want Sebastian to get shit on his first day.
Stranger: Sebastian shrugged. It was an expressive gesture. One full of confidence and yet at the same time it was more humble than he would normally admit to. 'I tend to scare off the pretty ones. And the smart ones.' He signed with a casual smile as he shifted to slide back properly into his seat. He just hoped he could switch up classes. Which had him glancing at Jim for a moment. 'What's your schedule like?'
You: Jim's face was red when Sebastian implied he was pretty and smart. His heart was beating so fast- he couldn't believe he was flirting with Sebastian- he was so attractive..and interesting. He wrote it out on a spare sheet of notebook paper,at the bottom he put his phone number. He handed it to Sebastian. "Maybe I can at least see you for lunch." he spoke. He frowned as the teacher began quieting down the class so he could begin his lecture.
Stranger: Sebastian pulled out his phone and put the number in immeditatly. Then texted Jim so that he had his number. 'Bang. SM' He flushed a bit as he rolled his eyes at himself. But he looked to Jim and motioned at his phone to look at. Flirting back a bit.
You: Jim smiled when Sebastian texted him immediately. He quickly saved the blondes number and texted him back. Jim never paid in class anyways but now he had a reason to ignore the lecture. He saw your card. He's avoiding you like the plague. Are people usually that awkward when they find out you're mute? JM
Stranger: Sebastian snorted softly. Much less goose like this go. But still an odd sound. 'Every damned time. SM' He shot Jim a look that held a world of annoyance.
You: Jim smiled back at him. Christ Sebastian was gorgeous, he could stare at him for hours. JM You're going to have an interesting first day. JM
Stranger: (Just checking the first line was not in the text correct?)
You: (Oh shit no it wasn't supposed to be my bad!)
Stranger: Sebastian shot Jim a look and then snorted again. 'I already am having a good damned day. Unexpectedly SM'
Stranger: (All good.)
You: Me too, surprisingly. JM What hall are you assigned to? I live in C-hall. JM
Stranger: Sebastian grinned at that. 'C Hall. Was told that if I climb out the windows on the third floor I'd deserve it if i broke my neck. SM'
You: How do you think I got detention? I like to go on the roof and smoke. JM
Stranger: Sebastian couldn't believe his luck. 'I haven't tracked down a source willing to sell to me yet. SM' He sent that rather quickly as he looked up and counted his lucky stars. Cute, smart, and a bit of a bad boy. Or at least accepting enough of the fact that he didn't have the straightest moral compass.
You: Skip lunch with me and I'll show you my favorite smoking spots. JM He looked over and gave Sebastian a wink when he caught the other's eye. He didn't know where the confidence had come from but it was going so well already and Sebastian was flirting back with him. Jim was fairly certain he was the only gay kid in school-well the only one out. It'd been some sort of blessing to have a handsome bi kid show up, /and/ be into him.
Stranger: Sebastian shot back an instant reply. "Fuck yes. SM' He looked to Jim and grinned. He was craving some. Utterly and wantonly.
You: Jim smiled, excited and nervous for lunch to come. He rolled his eyes as the teacher scolded him for being on his phone. He, of course, didn't say anything to Sebastian about it, too awkward to acknowledge him still. Jim shot Sebastian looks throughout the lecture, smiling at him and signing about their teacher being an idiot. When the bell rung Jim gathered his things and stood up, "Text me, yeah? And I'll see you during lunch."
Stranger: Sebastian nodded. Gathering up his stuff he glanced at Jim and mouthed, 'Office?' Deciding to skive off class in favor of sorting out how to get the same classes as Jim. Then almost dropping his book bag he quickly signed, 'Last name?'
You: Jim smiled, "Moriarty." he answered, "I can show you where the office is to change your schedule around. " He was a bit surprised that Sebastian had listened to him. He figured Sebastian wanted slightly challenging classes- he certainly wouldn't be adjusting his schedule just for him. "I insisted my parents pay for the private rooms, do you have a roommate?
Stranger: Sebastian shook his head. 'No roommate. But two beds. Only room available.' Sebastian signed as he fell in step with Jim. Taking note of his interest in him actually remembering and taking note of the situation. Let alone actually following it.
You: "Two beds? I'd push them together and make one big bed. The private rooms aren't anything special. They're tiny I just don't have to put up with some idiot in my space. " He lead Sebastian through the busy hallway. As he was talking and walking another student pushed between them-purposely shoving Jim against the lockers. "Watch where you're going fag!" the bully called out as he walked away. Jim stopped to gather his fallen book bag and grab his shoulder, "Fucker.." he mumbled, he was so embarssed, why did they have to torment him in front of Sebastian.
Stranger: Sebastian made a point of sticking his foot out immediately after and caught the boy sending him straight to the floor. He stepped in front of Jim and made it so that he couldn't get at Jim. Crossing his arms he looked down at him with an extremely intimidating look. Glancing at Jim he waited until he had his stuff before he made to fall in step beside him.
You: Jim watched the other fall and held back a laugh as best he could. He watched from behind Sebastian, the random student quickly backed off seeing the size of Sebastian and the look on his face. The asshole got up and left quickly. Jim blushed- he'd never had anyone protect him like that before. He grabbed his school bag and turned to Sebastian as they kept walking. "Thanks..you-you didn't have to do that. It happens all the time..."
Stranger: Sebastian's jaw was set into a hard line as he turned to follow at Jim's side. 'Not on my guard.' He signed not thinking of how militant that sounded. But he took Jim's bag and shouldered it along with his own. Freeing up the smaller boy to move around quicker.
You: Jim was even more surprised when Sebastian took his bag for him. He instinctively wrapped his jacket around his body a little tighter-feeling smaller than he already was. He couldn't help but be even more attracted to Sebastian when he went around trying to protect him after knowing one another for only two hours. "Careful, or I'll start having you walk me to all my classes." he joked- trying to make light of the incredibly embarrassing encounter. Soon they were outside the main office. "Mrs. Terret is the woman who handles class schedules." he explained.
Stranger: Sebastian nodded. But he signed, 'Sounds like Ferret.' He glanced at Jim trying to make light of the situation. Even just a little bit. As he slowly relaxed his shoulders he kept his head up watching for more attackers. A natural body guard instinct. He pulled out his schedule and a pen quickly. Handing them to Jim. 'Write down your schedule. And I can more than let them know that I'm not stupid. Might mean a bit of a cram session to pass placement tests tho.
You: Jim's eyes got a bit wider as he realized Sebastian was trying to match their schedules. He smiled and used the wall to write down his schedule for Sebastian. "There you go." he smiled as he handed him the paper. "I'd be more than happy to tutor you." he assured him, his tone just slightly flirtatious.
Stranger: That did get another faint flush over the tops of his ears. Which made his roguish tanned complexion stand out a bit. But he nodded, accepting the help. Taking a breath he ran his hand through his hair. Absently wondering if he was being too brutish and forward. Yet he signed, 'Just don't call me moronic and we're good.' A bad memory surfacing and giving Jim an insight to his personality a bit, and a trigger point.
You: Jim nodded and gave a weak smile, "Wouldn't dream of it." he assured him, he understood that Sebastian was being serious. He liked that he was getting little windows into who Sebastian was. He rolled his eyes as the bell rang to signal he was late-its not like he cared. "I'll see you for lunch." he gave the blonde a smirk and wink. "I should hurry, before I get another detention. "
Stranger: Sebastian nodded and held out his bag. But then hesitated. 'Want me to just bring it with me to our next class?' He signed with in clear view of the front desk in the office. Both asking the question and setting the stage for the con he was about to pull.
You: Jim rose an eyebrow, "Sure." he agreed, he was curious to figure out how Sebastian intended to get his classes switched so quickly. "I'll see you in English then." he smiled, "Text me how it goes."
Stranger: Sebastian nodded. Shot Jim a slightly lopsided, toothy smirk, then headed into the office. Inside he pulled out his phone and started to tap quickly. Waiting for the secretary to notice him. Or rather bother with him.
You: Jim took his time going to class, he was busy daydreaming about the fascinating dreamy boy he'd just met. Sebastian was interesting and nice to him. He seemed eager to be around him, once Jim got into class he spent the whole time on his phone brushing up on his sign language.
Stranger: Sebastian wandered to English class about 5 minutes before the bell and sat down next to Jim with a smug expression. Deciding that he preferred to tell Jim the good news in person. He passed over his new and matching schedule to his new friend.
You: Jim smiled when he saw the identical schdule, he was impressed to say the least. A bit flattered too, he was slightly relieved that Sebastian seemed just as interested in him. Jim could get a bit attached and Sebastian was leaving the door open for him to latch on quickly. He sighed to the other, 'How'd you do it?'
Stranger: Sebastian sat back a bit and signed back. 'Flirted with the office lady. I might need to get her flowers... or at least a box of toffee.' But he waved that bit off. 'Mostly it was playing on their need to not violate my civil rights. The walked all over themselves trying to fix the problem of me not being able to communicate fluently with the staff and them falling over backwards when I mentioned I was friends with you and you can sign.'
You: Jim chuckled quietly, 'Clever boy.' Sebastian was smart and knew how to get what he wanted from people, that was a useful skill. 'I brushed up on signing, tell me if I get something wrong. I'm a fast learner but a lot of things I've never signed before'
Stranger: There was a hesitation around Jim calling him clever boy. But he tipped his head to the side and glanced at the clock. 'I was gone 40 minutes and you brushed up on a whole language?'
You: Jim gave a weak shrug, 'I could probably learn another language in 2 hours if I had to..' Jim didn't know how to explain it but he'd been tested and had an impressive IQ level.'It seemed important to brush up...'
Stranger: Sebastian sat back and stared at Jim for a long moment. Then snorted a breath of air. 'You may want to find mints or something for up on the roof.' He signed hinting at something and letting a door open for what he hoped would be a snogging session.
You: Jim blinked-his face turning nearly completely red. He supposed that had impressed him then. Jim was glad that Sebastian found his intelligence attractive and not annoying or show off-ish. He swallowed and nodded, 'I'll be sure to stop by my room then.' soon the bell rang to dismiss them from English. Only one class left before lunch, 'You know we could skip class, you're new. You won't get in trouble.'
Stranger: Sebastian arched an eyebrow. 'Risk detention?' He asked. Not saying no. And yet at the same time not saying yes. Just yet. He rather liked that embarrassed enjoyment in Jim's expression.
You: Jim gave a shrug, "What's another detention. I've got detention every morning for two weeks by now. They won't kick me out my dad pays too much." Jim started to lead him in the opposite direction of their next class and toward C-hall.
Stranger: Sebastian was up and following Jim blindly. He had a key to his room. But hadn't been there yet. And clearly skipping class to continue on the path to a good snog and a well craved for cigarette. But he did pause a beat. 'Not a good family life either then?'
You: Jim shrugged, "They don't hit me or anything. That would mean actually interacting with me." he rolled his eyes, "I've been in boarding school since I was 5. I see my parents maybe twice a year." he explained. "Neither of them wanted a kid, but I suppose good Irish Catholics weren't going to terminate a pregnancy so..here I am. Had a nanny till I was old enough to go to school then they shipped me off." he turned to Sebastian as they walked out of the main building and into the court yard. It was a quick walk to their dorm building.
Stranger: Sebastian went a bit silent even for him. On the fence about what he was going to say or rather sign. 'Mum's dead. Da got his arse killed.' Him but he didn't need to say that. Least not yet. 'Twin brother dead. Family money tied up until I'm 18. Cheerful lives us.' He offered.
You: Jim was interested to know how Sebastian was the only one left alive out of his family. He rose an eyebrow, "you're the only one left?" he asked, "What..what happened?" he asked softly, hoping he wasn't overstepping.
Stranger: Sebastian eyed Jim for a few moments while they walked. 'Brother ended up down the stairs. I think Mum had too many pills and alcohol. Blamed herself. She did herself in after Severin died.' He signed. Then not quite hesitating, but not making showy signs now. 'I happened to Da.'
You: Jim's eyes got a bit wider. He wasn't quite sure if Sebastian was joking, surely he wouldn't just casually admit to murder to someone he barely knew. He rose an eyebrow, "/you/ happened?" he questioned, "What'd he do?" he asked, strangely Jim wasn't put off by the idea of knowing his new friend had killed someone. Was it worse that it kind of turned him on?
Stranger: Sebastian licked at his lip and eventually nodded. It was a slow and hesitant thing. But there he was baring himself for a boy he just met and finding someone that was more curious than appalled. It made him relax some what. 'He bought her the pills and wine and then called her horrid things until she took them all.' He glanced away. 'Hunting accidents are rather easy to set up. Just didn't realize that he'd screw me after the fact with the fucking will.'
You: This was defiently not normal-but then again neither were they. Within hour they had met, chatted and immediantly clung to one another and now Sebastian had just told Jim he'd killed his own father. Jim wasn't scared or put off in the slightest, he wanted to know more. He found the whole thing...kind of hot. Jim nodded, "Smart, that's an easy cover." he complimented. "And your brother..he just had an accident?" he questioned. He lead Sebastian to his room, unlocking the door and leading Sebastian inside.
Stranger: Sebastian glancing around curiously. 'Da...' He signed as he turned to look at Jim. 'I'm sure Da pushed him. No proof tho. Just his arrogant and fucked up self.'
You: Jim frowned, "He took your twin and your mother from you.." he stepped closer. "Guess I'm lucky I got sent away." he muttered. He looked up at the taller man, his heart rate increasing as he thought about snogging him
Stranger: Sebastian felt a bit naked just then. He looked to Jim and waited. He had handed Jim what amounted to a loaded gun. He was caught between being nervous of a response and wanting to kiss Jim.
