as much as i appreciate the care that went into the improved graphics of the zoo tycoon sequels, nothing will ever compare to that beautiful crunchy single-perspective practically-pixelated 2001 original version...... mmmm yeah baby i love how your terrain has absolutely no light blending at all...... digital dreamworld

#my posts #ok to reblog #i remember i was like a really lonely kid and we had a box computer that i would play zoo tycoon on #and in one game I made a special terrain platform and very briefly opened it up with a ramp so a few guests could go up there #(i baited them with a drink stand) #and once they were up there i closed the ramp #but i gave them food and water and i decided that thye were my little friends #because i was weird as fuck and i was acutely aware of the fact that once people left my zoo i never saw them again #(because they were little bits of code) #and i wanted people who would stay with me #and i invested a lot of zoo money into giving them a nice place to live with food and drinks and bathrooms and everything #but ultimately they all wanted to leave because it was built into their code #i waited a long time to let them go but eventually i felt like i had to it didnt feel right #it made me sad i felt sort of rejected #i think i might have needed therapy as a child i think i need therapy currently #every time i think about little ghost children in horror whose goal is to make people stay with them forever because theyre lonely #and i wonder if that's realistic #i think of my little forever friends in zoo tycoon #anyway.
