Periodic reminder that the Jedi don’t kidnap kids, they rescue them, and that’s not propaganda.
Force-sensitive kids who are born to loving families and/or in societies with a strong social net just...grow up to be talented folks. The Nightsisters. Plenty of Mandalorians. So many people.
Kids about to be kidnapped and sold into slavery because they’re Special? Orphans about to burn down their village? Those tykes get a new Temple Home.

Okay, I think I have Evie figured out. Here's a rough appearance (my art ability reverted back to stick figures after high school, lol)
Tumblr media
Evie Mirin, Pantoran Jedi Padawan
Apprenticed to Jedi Master Feemor when she was 12 years old.
She uses the Shii Cho fighting style, and her kyber crystal is pale green, and she is in training to become a Shadow.
Evie is both clumsy and accident prone, though she claims that she's just unlucky.
She plays the ocarina, a musical instrument she picked up on a random planet and was encouraged to keep playing. And she's trying to cultivate cacti in her room.
Evie genuinely believes that people are inherently good. And that people who are walking a shadowed path only need someone to guide them back to the light.
(A fact that has nearly gotten her killed on more than one occasion)
She isn't so arrogant as to believe that she has to be the one to lead them back to the light, though.
Evie recognizes that people who walk on the dark side of the Force can be dangerous, she just...doesn't recognize that at times. She's not naive, just a little oblivious.
And now, a snippet~
"Thank you for coming, Feemor," Mace says to the Master Jedi, "As I understand it, your Padawan is 18 now. Old enough to be considered for knighthood?"
"Absolutely not." Feemor replies bluntly.
"Need Generals, we do." Yoda chides his former grandpadawan, "Old enough, Evie is."
Feemor nods and pulls a little notebook out of his robes, "Three days ago, Commander Wolffe brought my padawan back to me after she was almost eaten by a man-eating flower at the botanical gardens."
He flips a page, "Last week, Commanders Bacara and Neyo saved her from being mauled by something in the Works. Why was she in the works, I don't know. But they followed her and saved her from being killed."
He flips one more page, "The week before that, Commander Cody returned my padawan to me after she tripped over her robes and slammed into a tree. Which knocked a hornets nest down, causing the hornets to swarm her. Which, in turn, caused her to fall into the Dagobah lake in the room of a thousand fountains. Accord to the Commander, it took four of them to free her from the mud, and it took them thirty minutes to pick the leeches off of her and wrap her injuries." Feemor pauses, "She broke her ankle when she tripped into the tree."
He closes his notebook with a snap, "all of those incidents happened in the last month. So no, Master Yoda, I will not be recommending Evie for Knighthood, unless the Order is going to splurge for her to have a dedicated babysitter."
Masters Kenobi, Koon, and Mundi all look like they're trying not to crack up, and Feemor is pretty sure that Mace is fighting a smile, "Very well, Feemor." Mace says solemnly, "You're dismissed."

You didn't specify ocs :( so 2/3/4 for any?
Oh i was mostly there to spread your cool game around but hey. Let's do some Nawah stuff i've been thinking about Nawah a bit lately
2. What is their culture? + What is their relationship with their culture?Mostly Jedi but with strong dashes of pantoran. above all else Nawah is Me Making Some Kind Of Dyspraxic Point so I think they were only tracked as Note-Worthingly force sensitive at a later age- not nearly as old as Anakin, of course, but enough they have some memory of their first language and early social concepts, like family structure and Pantroan Gender. They deliberately seeked information and connection later in life- in a manner approved by the order- but mostly they see their heritage as pantoran and their Lived In Culture and values and stuff as Jedi, and are very invested in the Community aspects of temple life and the inter-generational bonding in it. For Pantoran stuff- there isn't much on wookiepedia for pantorans, they were made for the clone wars, but it does say their tattoos are about Lineage in an "almost feudalist ancient tradition"- and from Old Writings and I think while, again, as a Jedi nawah doesn't care much for that, blood family as a grouping, sometimes Family Names in our world developed out of roles, right, the tracking of your ancestors being about what kind of people they were and what they did in society, so some of Nawah's earlier tattoos point at their home and parents but in the last year of the war- the year their first class was graduating- they got tatoos about being an Educator/ Childcarer. Nurturer of future generation yknow. Also I based their head ornaments in some drawings on Riyo Chuchi's but Different and I think they have a cultural signifcance of Presentation but less, gender presentation and more Tempermment. Almost element. Probably with same ancient religious origin- wookiepedia says some pantorans worship and unnamed moon goddess- but mostly nowadays about, Vibe as a person.
this is a lot of the pantoran worldbuilding i did for them sdfgdgdsrg but they are very much culturally jedi. they're honestly a lot more into the code and into the Monkier areas of jedihood than some characters we see on screen.
4. What experiences shaped who they are? ough. definitely their crystal cave test, materializing their bond and oath to the force with their own kyber crystal calling to them, theirs?
... and then being hurt by that blade? irreversibly wounded by their own sword in their own hand?
...they chose to leave their blade behind when they got bumped from padawanhood to adjacent education corps. generally people there don't have sabers, but, the council wasn't going to take theirs away, they were not deemed dangerous or harmful with it, especially as long as Nawah was in the temple, and to jedi it is a very personal prized possesion. But Nawah didn't feel like keeping it. It was too bitter a reminder of what they were and werent, and besides, it would be so stained with blood if it could.

Hot Chocolate
Tumblr media
Cal Kestis x reader
Word count: 1.7k
Note: Here’s some more fluff to bring warm, fuzzy feelings to your holidays! As mentioned, this takes place during the trip to Ilum in Jedi Fallen Order.
Was Cal supposed to have been gone this long? Did something happen to him? Why wasn't he here yet? Where was he? All of these questions ran through your mind as you anxiously awaited his return. He usually spent quite some time whenever he went searching for something, but he’d also had swarms of Stormtroopers and dangerous fauna to deal with as well. As far as you knew, there should've been none of that on Ilum. It was a frozen, barren planet where the Jedi got the kyber crystals that powered their lightsabers. It seemed to be taking an especially long time for Cal to find one, but you didn't really know what all it entailed, either. But you caught Cere saying something to him before he set off about being tested, and you hadn't heard from him since he left the ship.
"Do you think he's okay?" you asked Cere, who was keeping an eye on the Imperial channels while she waited for an update from Cal.
"Every Jedi faces their own challenge to find their crystal. It can take time for the right one to reveal itself. I’m sure he’s alright. He has been so far. And if can get through all that, he can get through this. You just have to have faith in that.”
Her words assuaged your worries a little, but you were still on edge, just anticipating the next disaster to occur as it always did.
A short while later, Cal's voice came over the comm--and, Maker, were you relieved to hear it. "Cere, we need to get out of here. They've taken over Ilum."
And there it was: the disaster.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"No, they spotted me. And that's not all. They're mining kyber crystals."
"Captain, prepare for takeoff!" Cere called to Greez.
Everything suddenly became intense as you monitored the Imperial channels with Cere. And it didn't look good for any of you; they knew he was here and were on total alert, sending everything they had at him and calling for reinforcements. And to make matters worse, the storm that had been blowing all around you, sending a chill deep into your bones, was finally clearing. A little earlier, you would've rejoiced at that, except that it was also taking with it its precious cover that you so desperately needed now more than ever. Every star destroyer in the sector was on its way. You guys had to go.
"If they get here before you do..." Cere was saying to Cal over the comm.
"No, we didn't come all this way to get captured. I'll be there."
And you knew he would be, but it didn't make the waiting any easier.
"Cere!" Cal said, sounding more alarmed than before. Just as soon as he spoke, you heard the distinct sound of booming blasterfire in the distance that could only be coming from something big, like an AT-ST--no, two of them. "We've got company. Tell Greez to close the Mantis."
"WHAT?" Greez yelled at him. "With the Empire on your tail?! Are you crazy, kid?"
"Trust me!" Cal yelled over the deluge of fire and the humming of his lightsaber.
"We do," Cere said. "We'll close the ship."
"Just get here, Cal," you added.
You listened to the distant explosions coming from the direction of the cave, where the two walkers were stomping around, clearly intent on blasting their target--Cal--to pieces. How he survived assaults like that time and time again, you would never know. You were just grateful that he did and had to believe that he'd keep doing it. Otherwise, you'd be losing your mind with worry all the time.
After more excruciating minutes of waiting with bated breath, the AT-STs were eventually silenced, and shortly afterward, you saw the wonderful sight of Cal approaching the Mantis at last. You hurriedly lowered the ramp for him again.
"Cal!"
Relief flooded through you as he came in. He was soaked, covered in frost, and shivering. But safe.
"You did it," said Cere.
"We did. I wouldn't be here without all of you. I used to sit on Bracca dreaming about storming Coruscant with survivors from the Jedi Council. Instead, the Order's hopes rest on a gambler, a fallen Jedi, a [your choice], and a failed Padawan. A bunch of screw ups."
"You can say that again!" Greez concurred.
"BD's the only reliable one. He let Cordova wipe his memories so he could stay behind and guide us. But you three are willing to sacrifice everything; to keep going even when it seems impossible."
You smiled fondly at him, warmed by his words despite the icy temperature.
"Failure's a part of the journey," Cere told him.
"I get that now. Thank you. All of you."
As you all dispersed, the ship soon in hyperspace and headed back off to Dathomir, you went over to Cal. You put your hand on his arm, intending to say something to him, but the thought was lost as soon as you touched him.
"Cal! You're freezing!"
His skin was as cold as the ice outside.
"I'm alright."
But his icy skin and continuous shivering said otherwise.
"You should go put on some dry clothes. I'll get you something warm to drink."
He nodded, retreating to his makeshift quarters in the back of the ship. While he did that, you went to the kitchen to make some hot chocolate for him. And because it was kriffing cold, you decided to make a mug for yourself as well. You hadn't been able to get warm since you landed on the blasted planet. So, you could only imagine how Cal felt. As you left some water to heat up and searched for the packets of cocoa mix, BD-1 hopped up on the counter in front of you. The little droid was always happy to see you after each mission, but even he didn't seem quite as chipper as usual.
"Hey, BD. I bet you're glad to be getting off that planet, huh?"
He chirped in response and did what looked like a little shiver, making you smile. You hadn't known droids could be so cute until you'd met BD-1. He happily let you remove the frost that still clung to his cold metal body while you waited for the water to finish heating. Once that was done, the rest of the cocoa-making process went quickly as all you had to do was mix the powder into the water and top it off with the little mallows that Greez kept hidden away in his "secret" stash. Carrying two steaming mugs of liquefied chocolate with BD following close behind, you made your way to the tiny area Cal knew as his quarters. The Mantis wasn't exactly made to comfortably house four people, so sleeping arrangements had been tricky to figure out. But you'd made do, finding a way for each of you to have your own little space. It was cramped, but it worked out well enough. When you got there, he was already in a fresh change of clothes, just finishing up hanging his wet ones to dry. Making yourself at home, you sat down on his bunk. The hot mugs felt good beneath your hands.
"Here," you said, holding one out to him as he came over to you.
"Thanks."
Taking his mug, he sat down across from you on the bunk. BD went right along with him, settling in between the two of you.
"What is this?" he asked, looking curiously into the mug.
"It's hot chocolate. Trust me, you'll like it."
You watched his expression change as he took a drink.
"See?"
"What are these little white things floating on top?"
You giggled. They must not have had treats like that at the Jedi Temple.
"They're mallows."
"They're good."
"Just don't tell Greez I gave you some."
He gave you a brief questioning look before deciding to leave it at that and turning his attention back to his cocoa. You sipped your drinks in silence for a few moments until your curiosity got the better of you.
"Cal," you began, becoming serious again, "what happened down there? I was so worried about you."
He sighed and looked down for a moment.
"It's okay if you don't want to tell me," you added.
"No, it's not that. It's just--"
You waited for him to continue, not sure if was going to say anything more or not.
"I was ready to give up," he started again. "I felt like a failure. And then BD-1 showed me the holorecording of Cordova." Cal looked fondly at the droid as he spoke. "It was his last transmission. BD was only supposed to share it with someone he built a trusted connection with. Cordova wanted BD to find someone worthy to complete his mission; to take his place. And BD decided that was me. He chose me; believes in me."
A soft smile touched your face. "That droid is special. He saw in you the same thing I see. The same thing we all see."
Your eyes locked in a stare, and you swear you could've gotten lost in his in that moment. But then you noticed he was still shivering, despite the warm drink.
"You're still cold," you said. It wasn't a question.
Setting your mug aside, you pulled the blanket off his bunk and got up to drape it around him. Then, you retrieved your cocoa and joined him under it. He repositioned himself, bringing an arm around your waist as you scooted into his side as close as possible. Head dipping onto his shoulder, you got comfortable as you snuggled up to him to share your body heat.
"Better?"
"Much," he replied, relaxing around you.
You could have stayed like that forever, and you had a feeling Cal would've, too, if he didn't have the fate of the Jedi hanging on his shoulders. He had his own important mission to accomplish, and you respected that. You would be there for Cal every step of the way and make sure he knew that.
The warmth of the hot chocolate flowing through you mingled with the warmth that emanated within you from being so close to Cal, and you relished in the feeling. Cal had stopped shivering for a while now, but you didn't move, content to just sit there like that and enjoy the moment together for as long as you could. A moment of serenity to break up the chaos. All cozy in each other's arms, it wasn't long before sleep found you both.
