Sarah was good at her job, but even the best agents were not infallible.

So, in the midst of a fight, Sarah Rogers was transported through time. One moment, she was in 1969, New York grappling with a goon. The next, there was a flash of light from the goon's weapon, and Sarah was alone in a dilapidated building.

Stumbling out into the streets, Sarah had one goal, find a pay phone to call the office. It would get back to her mother that she'd lost her target, but that was unavoidable. Her mother was the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

But after walking for a while and getting thoroughly lost, there was not a pay phone in sight.

It was late, so all the shops were closed. So all Sarah could do was wander until a Bodega opened.

Around sunrise, she wandered into a park and sat down on a bench. God, was she exhausted.

The first sign of another human was a jogger, which was enough for Sarah to perk up to try and flag them down.

When the jogger came nearer and Sarah saw their face, her heart stopped, she knew that face, he looked only a few years older than Sarah herself was. But Sarah recognized her father in a moment.

Becca smiled, Steve had always been such a good friend to her, even if he was her brother's friend first.

"I'm glad you're okay and that you're happy to see me." Rebecca teased, when they had been kids, she followed Steve and her brother around like a lost puppy, and as young boys they weren't always thrilled about it.

"The world has changed, Steve, plus I figured you'd want to stay as close to home as possible." This neighborhood wasn't Brooklyn, but it was close enough.

"I've missed you."

Captain Carter was thrilled that the SSR and Howard had found a way for Steve to still serve in the war. She still felt guilty that she’d be the one who had taken the serum, even though Steve had been unfit when the time came. She had been the only option, and she knew it, but Steve had deserved his chance too. 

He didn’t seem to blame her for it, and he seemed to admire her all the more for what she’d become. She’d always known he had feelings for her; she’d caught him staring at her more than once even before her serum. Before she became the taller, more muscular super soldier version of herself. 

Peggy enjoyed her new abilities, her new strength, her new stamina, and enjoyed fighting alongside the men. She loved her new suit and her new Union Jack shield, and she loved the way Steve still treated her with such kindness. She still felt sometimes that she had to fight to be in the room; she was still a woman after all, and war was a man’s duty. Steve never treated her as anything but a hero. He could be a hero now too, now that he’d gotten his new Hydrastomper suit, and now they could fight together. She was so proud of him. 

She found him preparing to ship out on their next mission and sat down next to him. “Hey,” she said. “I’m glad you’re coming with us this time. We’re going to do great together.”

Second Chances

Ariadne had been on the run for weeks. The last time she... Belonged to anybody was when Barnes and Steven fought on the aircraft carrier. Then Barnes pulled the other out of the Potomac. Thats the only reason she was free right now. Hydra was too occupied with Barnes that she somehow slipped right through their fingers.

As she stood at the main entrance of the avengers compound, she thought to herself "Who needs a house this.... large...?" she shook her head as she walked in, pulling her red ball cap lower over her eyes. People don't really take her bright red eyes as friendly. Granted, she probably wouldn't either if she was a everyday human like these ones.

As she walked in, she pulled out one of her many identification cards. Knowing the one she gave to the nice lady at the security desk, would pass what ever inspection or background check they were planning on running on her.

Once the security guard told her she could continue into the building she quickly slipped into the elevator, pressing the up button. After the rather... long elevator ride, she stepped off into a large glass room with a long rectangular table in the center with a lot of... important looking people sitting at it discussing something trivial.

"Steven Rogers?" She called out as she pulled off her ball cap, revealing her bright red eyes. As well as her face. "I need your help. please?"

When the haze of twilight sleep had finally faded from Peggy's mind, the first thing she noticed was the dull ache, opening her eyes she couldn't remember why she was in a hospital and turned to look around her.

The moment her eyes landed on Steve, it all came back. In Steve's arms was a small bundle of cream colored wool, and it was the most beautiful sight Peggy had ever seen.

They'd had a baby.

"Darling, can I see them, please?"

Bucky had just finished packing and checking Nessa's bag to make sure that she didn't pack only toys.

Today was the day. He,Steve, Jay and Nessa were all going to Wakanda so Jay could get help. Bucky would be lying if he didn't say he was as excited as a kid on Christmas morning. Wakanda was a big part of him, and they helped him so much. He couldn't wait to share their culture with his family as well as seeing their faces light up when Jay was cured

After a few minutes they arrived at Steve's house.

" Hi Jay. I'm your cousin Nessa." Ness gave a small wave as Bucky hugged Jay. " you excited bub? He asked before helping with the bags.

" Ok guys...Ayo will meet us at the Avengers landing pad since we have to fly to get to Wakanda."

"Did anyone manage to get in touch with Natasha's family?" Bucky asked out of interest, he knew maybe Steve would find it a strange question, but he knew Natasha had a family out there. Steve perhaps didn't quite know Bucky and Nat's background, but he hadn't found the right time to explain it all. He could remember talking about her sister, and that one day she would try and find her. Though judging from Steve's face, maybe he shouldn't have asked. "I mean -- everyone's got a family."
