Fun v. Success

Identify the small things that make you happy. And do more of that. Make doing things that you enjoy a priority.

Schedule them into your calendar like you would an appointment or meeting. And if you aren't sure what they are, schedule time to find out. Discovering whether something makes you happy can be just as much fun!

I didn't realise I would love the fall in Minnesota or fishing in the freezing cold for Walleye until I tried it. Laughs!

We usually put everything else above having fun.

But if we do, what is the point of doing everything else?

Stacie Kiselman is first class. She is a writer, author and influencer. Most importantly she is the kind of survivor that is using her trauma, illness and challenges, to create a safe and empowering environment for all of us navigating their lives and to learn from the experiences of others. The Graceful Boon is not only a space for Stacie to share her story, but for you and countless others to share yours. A place where People inspire one another to turn their experiences into something more. Something great.

Stacey has conquered cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a car accident, PCOS and mental health. And if you ask me, she has conquered the most difficult of all things… Herself. Bravo for encouraging others and creating a space for them to do the same.

first class business — park inn by radisson

I very rarely do this. And when I realised that, I wondered why? As an advocate and champion of wonderful Businesses, it seems remiss of me not to mention and highlight the amazing Businesses and spectacular People within them, that I encounter on my travels!

This Hotel not only exceeded expectations. They blew them out of the water. And it had everything to do with the Staff! Every single person says hello to you when you pass them. All smiles, waves and happy eyes. Without having to ask, they go above and beyond. Anticipating Customer’s needs and preferences without having to be prompted. The Receptionist during my stay was so considerate and kind to me that I actually hugged him at one point!

Then there are the Rooms. Which are simple, stunning, well maintained, clean and comfortable. It is hard to find English Cable in Mexico, but Bingo! This Hotel has Language Settings for all of the American Channels. It is also not a small feat to find a Hotel that has so many English speaking Staff. I learnt a lot of Spanish in the 5 Months I travelled Mexico [I didn’t know a single word when I arrived]. And I still need some help and tend to switch between the languages often, laughs. Not only was I able to communicate in English, but they helped me learn more Spanish in the process!

Finally, there is the view [sigh] and the beach access. This Hotel backs right onto the Beach. Half a dozen short steps and you are in the ocean. It is marvellous!

Location wise, you are close to the Marina. The Galerias Mazatlan and Walmart. Laughs, yes there is Walmart in Mexico!

Ultimately, you can feel how much the People enjoy working here. And with the view and camaraderie in this Hotel, there isn’t any wonder why!

To travel or not to travel

I used to travel for work all the time. But my 30th Birthday was the first time I ever went on a trip on my own, just because. At first the idea seemed rather odd. Then I decided it was only odd because it was unusual. For me, for most people I knew. So of course I had to do it!

Turns out, a short road trip and the beautiful woodsy trails meets breathtaking beach coastline of Byron Bay, was a great lesson in what I was capable of on my own and a whole new understanding of the way I wanted to experience the world.

It became the start of my designing a lifestyle of travel and the only the prologue to many exceptional adventures.
