TASK 01: STEVIE’S TINY JUNGLE ( aka apartment ) —

while stevie has been living uninterruptedly in new york for ten years, she has only inhabited this apartment for three. with permission of the landlord, she was able to re-model the master bathroom and have a hanging chair in the living room. the walls of the apartment are covered with art, stevie’s absolute favorite pieces, she purchased from @elliotibrahim and @aubreyjennings. 

the apartment features two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, a small kitchen and small dining area, but a relatively big living room space. due to, ahem, changes, in stevie’s life, the walls are not as decorated as they usually are, and she’s been left with one completely empty room. she’s considered turning it into a guest bedroom or renting it out to someone, but hasn’t made up her mind completely. for a moment after her big breakup, she considered letting the apartment go and finding herself a different place to live, but she’s found that leaving her dear neighbors pained her more than changing the layout around to fit her needs. with this newfound freedom/loneliness, stevie has certainly upped the number of houseplants to fill some empty spaces, has spent an ungodly amount of cash stocking up the kitchen with pans and pots, and has used a lot of the previously shared storage space to display her vinyl collection.

TASK ONE // edgar’s room in the bronx

Ed lives in the room above his Grandfather’s store, and it is very much a room rather than an apartment. While he does have a separate bathroom, the kitchen and the bedroom are crammed together making for an extremely cosy space. The walls are lined with stacks of paperbacks he won’t dare depart with, as well as cds and records - only the ones he doesn’t want customers touching. He recently bought a bed frame, which means he has upgraded from fuckboy to fuckman and has successfully kept a plant alive for two (2) whole months. There’s a spot above his bed where you can slide open the window and climb onto the roof, which is one of his favourite places to go to smoke and think™. Because of how small his place is, he prefers to spend the majority of his time outside the apartment, or downstairs in the back of the store. Not many people have been in this tiny space.

the apartment of dr. kuiper.

      clinically clean and appearing barely lived-in. as opposed to the all-white options for upholstery and bedding, dom opts for darker colors (navy, black, etc) with steely accents. he’s pleased with the light and view, and while he could certainly afford to live somewhere bit bigger he’s barely home as it is (on call) and it’s just him residing within. it serves its purpose just fine.

Harlow’s Brooklyn Apartment

Harlow is pretty simple when it comes to decorating. She doesn’t like bright colors, keeps with the natural brick walls to make it look rustic. The only thing she cared about in the apartment was the kitchen. Having enough room to bake at home, do cakes at home when she ran out of time at the bakery. Her life is normally in the kitchen and her bedroom, nothing else matters.

Bourbon: American whiskey made in Kentucky, not necessarily in Bourbon county. 

Piano: the best instrument in the world. Best played with Chopin or Grieg. Most fun to play with candles burning while it's storming outside.

Family: a group of people, usually of the same blood (but do not have to be), who genuinely love, trust, care about, and look out for each other. Not to be mistaken with relatives sharing the same household who hate each other. REAL family is a bondage that cannot be broken by any means. 

Nightclub: a dark enclosed space where men and women mingle and dance. Most encounters leading to sex during the same night. There is usually a bar where overpriced drinks can be purchased and music is played very loud through the night. Can be a prime breeding ground for several types of STD’s. 

Business: some action; taking a piss; art of screwing people for profit; selling air, such as trading in stock market; pointless meaningless life-consuming spirit-draining activity.

Bibliophiles: people that love books.

Sniper: a highly skilled Marksmen who uses his skills in Fieldcraft, Marksmanship, and will to survive to take the vital shot which could decide a battle. 

Pizza: the perfect meal--an open-faced pie using tomato sauce, cheese, and any manner of meat toppings. In addition to the standard, medium-thick-crust pizza, there are two major American varieties: New York Style, also called thin crust; and Chicago style, also called 'deep-dish' or (more accurately) 'stuffed' pizza.

Traveler: someone who travels extensively, either in the USA, or abroad.

Philadelphia: isn't just a city that lies between the shadows of New York and Washington, it is a city where the Eagles are the topic of dinner conversation year round. It is where a meal consists of a cheesesteak, Natty light, soft pretzels, and Tastykakes for dessert. It is where there is a Wawa on every corner, and you look forward to the 1st day of Spring when Rita’s gives out free “wooder” ice. It is where you know it's a hoagie, not a sub and the shore, not the beach. Most importantly, where everyone is brothers and it is ok to say hello to someone you don't know if they are a birds fan. That is Philadelphia, the city of Brotherly Love... outsiders will never understand.

Nurse Practitioner:  nurse who wanted to be a doctor but couldn't get into med school. Instead they decided to attend an online school with less than 3% of training and thinks they can do the same job as a physician. 

Brunch: contraction of breakfast and lunch, usually occurring around the hour of 11 AM. Typically reserved for snobs and biddies who like tea and jam. 

Bibliophile: people that love books. 

Partier: people who party; people who drink, use recreational drugs, have sex, gamble, dance and fight in the name of fun. these people are often found attempting to either start or enter a party.

Tennis: intense sport with extremely hot athletes... also the basis of a lot of sexually oriented jokes. Involves a lot of time and traveling but is well worth the effort because of all the crazy-ass people you meet.

10: They're always looking for a good opportunity to come up.

— The name tag is her one and only item found and kept from her mother, Alana. No pictures, no nothing just a (Hooter’s officially because that was the best I could find) Hooter’s name tag. She used to wear it a lot under her clothes, but as she got older and fear of losing it, it’s since been clasped tight onto a mannequin/hanger in her room. 

— The stack of books are of all genre’s, all gigantic and all never read. At least not by Camden. They belonged to Blanchard Cunningham, her first foster parent she ever truly loved. Since her death, Blanche’s books have traveled near and far wherever Camden was put next. 

— Thrift stores and big fur coats are a place of identity for Camden, be anyone, live vicariously through the musty smell of the previous owners. Not to mention a harbor for eclectic fashions.

— Upon moving to the city at eighteen, Camden naturally did what any person would coming into their own. A brand new world of late nights, New York City mornings, concoctions, new friends, never friends, forever friends...at the ripe age of twenty-eight her vices have been heavily narrowed but a constant.

— The letter’s are bundled by year. Addressed from Albany, in fancy cursive she can sometimes barely read. Hand written and with details of four lives. Camden’s final foster parents. 

— One old cat at a time. Camden takes in the oldest most forgotten cat she finds. Gives it a home and final place to take it’s last breath. Big on giving those who are forgotten someplace to die and to die not alone. 

— A dance studio, doesn’t matter where. The commute sometimes the best part. The classes, preferably in the form of Salsa is where she finds and taps into a whole other level of intimacy.
