i hc that when xander first started training corrin as a child, they sparred with wooden swords (so xander wouldn’t accidentally hurt corrin) and corrin was 8 years old and stupid and was like  “whOA is that the legendary blade siegfried??” and xander didn’t want corrin to feel like he thought he was weak so he was like “yeah it sure is”

and then like a decade later when corrin was 18 and still stupid, he finally left the northern fortress and found out the wooden sword was definitely not siegfried and he was fucking pissed
