As stated before, my grandmother started from nothing

She came from a tiny village in El Salvador called Coyolito

She immigrated with little to no work experience

When it was time to start supporting a family in the United States, she started her own business

She went to the store, bought a pair of rubber gloves, cleaning supplies, and a mop

My grandmother's first business was a cleaning company

It wasn't just her first business but it was her biggest success

Her company Renia’s Cleaning began to spread, she started hiring other workers, printing out shirts, getting company cars. 

She no longer needed to clean and became the face of the company from nothing

She was able to financially support her 4 children and move them out of a bad neighborhood

How did she do this? 

Every single time you ask her how she did it she said through god.  

She never left her faith behind and even when things got hard and money was still low, she never gave up

NOVEMBER 14, 1894-THE MUNICIPALITY OF LA UNIÓN IS CREATED, DEPARTMENT OF COPÁN

Historical Background

The first settlers of the municipality came from Sensenti, Ocotepeque to devote themselves to agriculture in view of the good lands of vega existing. This place was first called Malsinca, when it was a small village and as the population grew, thinking that there should be unity among the neighbors, they decided to call it "La Unión"

This municipality was created by agreement extended on November 14, 1894 by the Political Government of the Department of Copan, based in Santa Rosa de Copan, which at that time had constitutional power to make such decisions. In that period, Dr. Policarpo Bonilla served as president of the Republic.

The Political Government, in use of its powers in accordance with Article No. 82 of the Constitution of the Republic, and paragraphs 2 and 5 of the Municipalities Law, agreed that the neighborhood of La Unión shall be proclaimed a municipality, becoming independent of Cucuyagua, to which it has belonged and will be composed of the communities of the Union, El Coyolito, San Andrés, Jualgipa and La Arena, being the Union the municipal seat.

The first authorities took office on the first of January 1895, at 9:00 a.m., meeting before the municipal mayor of Cucuyagua in his capacity as Governor of the District, Don José Contreras, by delegation of the Political Governor of the department, took the promise of law to the elected municipality.

Meaning of its Name
