Our familiarity with Judaism and its customs tends to revolve, like most things, around what we see ourselves, in English-speaking countries with very particular influences and traditions. But there have been Jews all over the world for thousands of years, speaking myriad languages, developing different local ways of celebrating the holidays. "Hanukkah Around the World" (2009) by Tami Lehman-Wilzig, with illustrations by Vicki Wehrman, delves into some of these traditions, from the Jews of Uzbekistan to those of Australia (where Hanukkah comes in summertime), from the Tunisian Jewish community to that of the Italian Jews.
