Rewatching Dark Shadows 1897. No new revelations, but damn, David Henesy was one of the best child actors I've ever seen. His portrayal of Jamison Collins possessed by Count Petofi is often better than the adults around him are giving.
And, as always, it's hard to remember that Quentin Collins, Sexy Victorian Bastard, is the same sweet, awesome-smelling older gentleman I met at Lyndhurst, who kindly laughed at my stupid werewolf joke.
jesus trask all she said was that thunder and lightning were caused by atmospheric conditions
[id: screenshot of jerry lacy as reverend trask and david henesy as daniel collins in the original dark shadows 1960s soap opera sitting beside each other in the collinwood drawing room. according to the cc trask asks the boy: "how else did ms. winters praise the devil?" /end id]
David just got attacked by a big floppy rubber bat on a string, there's a shot where you can actually see the shadow of the pole it's attached to. The child actor (David Henesy) screams and flails around like a true professional. I love this stupid show.

In December 1966, crazed handyman Matthew Morgan (Thayer David) abducted well-meaning governess Vicki and held her prisoner in a secret room behind the bookcase in the front parlor of the Old House on the estate of Collinwood. Vicki had run into Matthew there when she saw his dusty footprints leading up to the bookcase in #115. Vicki’s charge, strange and troubled boy David Collins (David…
The run-up to the 1890s time travel story, where young David and Amy are sneaking through the abandoned West wing in their jammies every night, having kiddie seances and talking to ghosts on the antique telephone, is probably my favorite storyline on Dark Shadows. A lot of it was the excitement of anticipation, but a lot of it was also the chemistry between these two child actors. (Grown-up David and Amy are still my OTP.) Rest in peace, Denise, and thank you for all the good times.
“But I must warn you, you may be coming back here alone.”
Barnabas questions David and Amy. The want to know what he intends to do about the grave that shouldn’t be there. Can they go back to the cemetery with him? He tells them to go and wash their hands for dinner (*lol). Barnabas wonders if the children have second sight. Vicki is to die tonight (*how does he know that?), so a grave would have been dug. Julia is losing the battle for logic as she again reminds him that everything happened 200 years ago. He’s going to Eagle Hill Cemetery. Is Julia coming? If so, she must realize that she may be returning alone. The eavesdropping kids emerge from the kitchen area. Amy wonders what he meant by that.
“Barnabas knows a lot of things that he doesn’t tell anybody, Amy. We shall just have to watch him.”
