Its funny that I am only now catching onto this after so many years. But with how often you write "Sokka gritted his teeth." I have a bad feeling that the poor guy is going to have some crazy dental problems in later life with all the teeth gritting he does. Ah don't mind me, I'm just poking fun. Its actually pretty normal for authors to have lines or descriptors that they feel most comfortable using, this one stood out to me is all. I'd not be shocked if Sokka breaks a tooth in a future chapter
I'm gonna level with you: EVERYONE in this fic is going to need a dentist eventually. So many gritted teeth, so many snarls, everyone's always got a case of the high tension and excessively tightened jaws. I don't know who's going to go into a career as a dentist post-Gladiator, but whoever does is going to make some really big bucks fixing all these characters, I expect.
Also, just an FYI, if Sokka breaks a tooth in future chapters, I'll make sure everyone knows you gave me that idea (?)

I'm gonna fuckin cryyyyy, my insurance isn't gonna help cover all the dental work I need to get done and my dentist office doesn't have payment plan options or a sliding scale 😭 Look at this shit
Tumblr media
(this isn't a bill, it's an estimate)
Insurance is only covering $493.50, leaving me with a $1,249.50 bill that I would have to pay immediately 😭😭😭 This isn't even including the tooth I need to get extracted either because I apparently have to go see a specialist for that.
This is the only good dentist near me. My aunt and uncle are trying to help me find a place that does sliding scale or payment plans that I could travel to and so far I have one other place I can call and check (I'm doing that when they open tomorrow) but this is most likely my best treatment option in my immediate area and I'm not sure if I can afford to travel for this right now.
My dentist is doing their best to work with my budget and I've been going to get a few teeth done at a time (so far I've gotten four taken care of! These eleven are the ones I still have left) so that I can afford the bill at the end. If my budget stays the same then getting all of this done will take 7-8 more appointments, about once a month, unless a financial emergency occurs and I have to push back an appointment. With how long it took me to get the first four teeth done this is about a year of appointments, which is plenty of time for the damage to my mouth to get worse and cost more to fix.
I'm so so stressed and I don't know what to do. Advice is welcome.

All About Full Mouth Implants And Treatment Costs
Losing teeth can be a challenging experience, affecting not only your oral health but also your self-esteem and quality of life. Fortunately, full mouth implants offer a reliable and long-lasting solution to restore your smile and confidence. It will help improve your overall dental health.
In this post, we will discuss the procedure and cost of full-mouth dental implants.
WHAT ARE FULL MOUTH IMPLANTS?
Full mouth implants, also known as full arch implants or Full Teeth Implants, are a revolutionary dental solution designed to replace an entire set of missing teeth in either the upper or lower jaw. Unlike traditional dentures, which rest on the gums or rely on adhesives, full mouth implants are securely anchored to the jawbone through a series of dental implants.
FULL MOUTH IMPLANTS TREATMENT PROCESS
Consultation and Assessment: The journey begins with a consultation with an oral surgeon or implant specialist. During this visit, your dental professional will assess your oral health, take X-rays, and discuss your treatment goals.
They will evaluate factors like bone density, gum health, and any pre existing dental conditions to determine your eligibility for full mouth implants.
Treatment Planning: Once you’re deemed a suitable candidate, a personalized treatment plan will be created. This plan outlines the number of implants required and the type of implant-supported prosthesis (fixed or removable).
Implant Placement: The next step involves the surgical placement of dental implants into the jawbone. This procedure is typically done under local anaesthesia or conscious sedation to ensure comfort. Over a period of several months, the implants will integrate with the bone through a process called osseointegration, providing a stable foundation for the replacement teeth.
Prosthesis Fabrication: After the implants have fully integrated, impressions of your mouth will be taken to create the customized prosthetic teeth. The prosthetic can be a fixed bridge or removable denture, depending on your treatment plan.
Final Restoration: Once the prosthesis is ready, it will be securely attached to the dental implants, restoring your full smile and functionality. Your dental professional will make any necessary adjustments to ensure a comfortable fit.
COST OF FULL MOUTH IMPLANTS
On average, full mouth implant treatment may range from £7,000 to £30,000. The price of the procedure depends on whether you need treatment for a bottom or top set.
The cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including:
1. Number of Implants: The more implants needed, the higher the cost. 2. Type of Prosthesis: Fixed bridges are generally more expensive than removable dentures. 3. Expertise of a Dentist and Location: The location and experience of the dentist affect the cost of full-mouth dental implants. 4. Additional Procedures: Some patients may require bone grafting or sinus lifts, which can increase the overall cost. 5. Materials Used: The quality of materials used for the implants and prosthetics can affect the cost
BENEFITS OF FULL MOUTH IMPLANTS
1. Enhanced Aesthetics: Full mouth implants provide a natural and attractive smile, boosting your confidence. 2. Improved Functionality: You can eat, speak, and smile with ease, just like you would with natural teeth. 3. Longevity: With proper care, full mouth implants can last a lifetime, making them a durable investment. 4. Bone Preservation: Implants stimulate the jawbone, preventing bone loss that commonly occurs with missing teeth. 5. Convenience: No need for adhesives or removal of dentures at night.
CONCLUSION
Full mouth implants offer an exceptional solution for individuals looking to restore their smiles and enhance their quality of life following tooth loss. However, it’s crucial to follow proper aftercare measures to ensure the longevity of dental implants, improve dental health, and maximise the long-term benefits, despite the potentially significant treatment costs.
