if you were to look at ao3's wol/npc fics alone you'd never guess that Ysayle was a major character of hvw while you'd assume that he were that instead character.

See the way I always saw it was, if fandom says a girl is "gay" then that's just blanket queer, she could be a lesbian, she could be bi, doesn't really matter, but if fandom says a GUY is a gay, then it's usually full gay, no bi, no ace, nothing (I assume because the m/m ships get the most rabid fangirls who will tear you apart if they even catch a whiff of you putting their precious gay baby with a female, like you're ruining the representation (that isn't present because the character isn't canonically gay)) and I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I get it. Sometimes you get super attached to one particular ship and you don't want to see those characters with anyone else, but like, that's YOU, not EVERYONE

I've never seen people who ship f/f ships get as rabid as people who ship m/m ships (then again, I don't really try to interact with those kinds of people. I usually see people with f/f ships just sad that people can be extremely lesbophobic, like getting threats over shipping Sara with Raiden Shogun and not Itto. Where did fandoms go wrong that death threats and the like are so common nowadays)

IDK Nonny... I feel like you might have some bias. Ive been attacked by Pearl/Rose shippers in the SU fandom. Ive seen people get death threats for shipping a female character thats part of the fav f/f ship with male characters including the Itto/Sara as well as Ayato/Yae. Then theres HS ships like Kanaya/Rose...

I think you (general you) see less of this because theres not quite as many super popular f/f ships but when there is theres just the same stupid bullshit.

I like looking up "ship charactera and characterb" (or w/e variation) on twt just see people go 'why would anyone ship charactera and characterb?''if you ship charactera and characterb kys' etc.
