Happy New Year! For those who might not have followed me for a long time, this is an annual event for me, posting my follow forever. It’s a chance for me to thank those people who have made my life so wonderful in the last year and to look forward to a new year and all the promise and opportunities it holds for me and my friends. It’s also a chance for me to acknowledge who I’ve unfortunately grown apart from and who is no longer an active part of my life. But most importantly, this annual follow forever is a way for me show my love for different blogs and the people who put their time and love into them.  

This year was a year of change for me, between graduating from school and starting a new job, to moving back home and discovering new interests. I made some incredible friends this year, as well as lost some, but along the way I learned to put myself first and cut ties with people who weren’t good for me. Here’s to a welcome send-off for the feverish nightmare that was 2k17, and to a bright and brilliant 2018!

@peltzwrites- I’m gonna be honest, I don’t remember how long we’ve been friends. since 2014 I think? which means that this is our three year friendiversarry. thank you for all the times you’ve answered my drunk crying skype calls and for giving me honest unfiltered advice that I need to hear. you’re someone I can always count on, and I hope you know that I’m someone who will always have your back in turn.

I had no idea when joining Darlington that I would make a forever friend in the group, but I made several, you perhaps the first one. @mlasses - the Ber to my Tou, I don’t think we’ve gone longer than a week or two without texting. I’m so lucky you gave me the brother relationship I always wanted my dumb son to have, and such a positive friendship to go along with. I adore hearing about all your new plots and characters, as well as talking about the crazy Charming stories we have. ( I’m not thankful for all the times you’ve snapped me bits of that’s what I like )

5. TV show of the year?

Yikes Katie I don’t really watch many TV shows as I did some years past (and I still haven’t started my B99 DVDs so SADLY I can’t count it) But the only TV show I near religiously kept up with this year was Empire. Which was pretty lackluster last year so this season was the do or die last chance if i’d keep watching or not. I’m glad I did because this season (it’s fourth one) was actually way better and entertaining to watch. Nothing like peak season 2, but still close.

8. Game of the year? 👀

Y’all think I forgot Magikarp Jump???? TRULY THE MOST lNSPIRATIONAL game of the year??? featuring some of my quality Magikarp names such as 24KMAGIK, MAGIKMIKE, MAGIKINGDOM, MAGIKCOOLBUS, MAGIKEIGHT, MAGIKJOHNSON, MAGIKLAMP, MAGIK3DELISH,  AND MAGIKMOUN10 good byE. 

21. What’s something new about your place of residence (room, home, or general location) now vs the start of the year?

I think the coolest thing that’s come together in my room this year is that i’ve got this whole wall filled with trinkets of things my friends have sent me in packages over the year. Plus of course the larger gifts from them sprinkled everywhere in my room. I’ve got Japanese and Canadian candy to last me another whole year actually. 😅😂

You’re expecting me to choose THREE favorite people in the community? I can barely pick my favorite food (lies french fries) BUT THREE?!          The noise had woken her up from a sleep that Presley hadn’t planned to take, checking the time on her phone only told her that it was far later than it was supposed to be when he came home. ( if he came home ) She shook off that seed of doubt. It happened every time they went into the field separately, partnering up with someone who wasn’t them and she swore not to let it bother her half as much as it did. 

Ezra could handle himself, just as much as she could handle it on her own but that didn’t stop the worrying or the lack of sleep that came in the three days that he’d been gone. Or had it been four now. Depending on which way she looked at it ― it was past time for him to be back. Having not heard a word on any of them or the mission, Presley knew the looks that she got when she inquired to any intel they might have received. No one cared if he came back, no one other than herself and that hadn’t changed in the years since he’d joined them. That type of prejudice would eat at a person, tear them apart at never feeling like they belonged and over time; it became a personal burden that she took on.

He didn’t deserve the looks or the scorn, and he sure as hell didn’t deserve to be an outcast when their community needed everyone to survive. Presley hated it and made her voice known, shutting down any opposition that might be vocalized against him and would continue to do so, despite them never giving him a full chance. Not even those closest to her fully accepted him. 

It left her alone and wondering if he’d make it back, barely awake until the sound of something ( or someone ) in her apartment had her up from the couch and heading towards the sound, coming from her kitchen. Her hands poised, ready to move whatever had decided to come into her place in the middle of the night when they thought it would be any easy place to hit. They thought wrong as she was not the girl she’d been once, if anything, she was stronger because of Ezra.

Another noise and Presley moved, sending a lamp flying in the direction of where it came from when she heard a man’s voice curse at the impact that was all too familiar. Her stomach dropped along with the lamp, hearing the crash as her knees buckled and Presley couldn’t contain herself as she moved forward to see who it was in her kitchen. “Ezra?”

Britt twists her hair around her finger, blonde locks curling from the knots she leaves them in, only to twist the same strand around her finger once more. She sucks the corner of her bottom lip into her mouth, biting hard on the skin, nervous. It’s a bold move, getting her long hair chopped off for a shorter cut, hair now a little longer than her chin. Britt worried that it would make her face look fat - having read somewhere that shorter hair makes faces look rounder, and while she’s guaranteed to always be beautiful thanks to her siren blood, she’s not sure that that quite applies to haircuts. Plus with wavy hair, what’s to keep her from looking like a goddamn poodle? “I can’t tell if that’s meant to be a compliment,” she replies, frowning. “I mean, I’d say that about a friend’s outfit that wasn’t killer but it was kind of okay. Like when you’re going out with someone and they show up in jeans and a top that’s pilling a little or is just not the best color for their skin, but at least it’s not sweats, you know?”

The friends I make.

The characters that Adopt Me™ and lowkey take over my life.

Doing research about particular things to bring it to life through character. ( I’ve learned soooo much from doing so!)
