Happy New Year! For those who might not have followed me for a long time, this is an annual event for me, posting my follow forever. It’s a chance for me to thank those people who have made my life so wonderful in the last year and to look forward to a new year and all the promise and opportunities it holds for me and my friends. It’s also a chance for me to acknowledge who I’ve unfortunately grown apart from and who is no longer an active part of my life. But most importantly, this annual follow forever is a way for me show my love for different blogs and the people who put their time and love into them.  

This year was a year of change for me, between graduating from school and starting a new job, to moving back home and discovering new interests. I made some incredible friends this year, as well as lost some, but along the way I learned to put myself first and cut ties with people who weren’t good for me. Here’s to a welcome send-off for the feverish nightmare that was 2k17, and to a bright and brilliant 2018!

Krissy was, as so often, already three steps ahead of her and out towards the street. The younger blonde looked the genuine part of a ballerina, what with her having refused to take her hair down from the signature bun, only having added a ribbon as accessory. And she’d almost been an actual ballerina, if only for the few odd classes where she could come along and not disrupt their getting ready for a showcase too much. Leah had half a mind to call the girl out to wait for her as she dug through her bag, her own hair lightly curled and floating down her back, but found herself mostly gaping at the empty threshold. And the rain outside.

“Hey,” a voice said, nearby, startling her from where she stood. She glanced up (not that much higher, thanks to the small stoop that added in some very needed inches), and her cheeks reddened as she met warm brown eyes. Just an arm’s length away, Krissy was safely covered by her own umbrella - something pink and very suited for the girl - her bag safely put away on her older brother’s shoulder. “Forget yours?” he asked, after a pause in which she supposed she could’ve said something. Probably. Leah’s fingers finally circled around her collapsible umbrella - purple, of course - before she glanced at the one covering Lee, himself. Something larger, meant to easily accommodate more than one if they squeezed in a little.

“...Yeah,” she mumbled out, finally, brushing some hair behind her ear as she sent a quick smile up his way. He replied to it with one of his own, something in his expression making her feel like he was almost laughing at something (which could’ve just been his normal disposition, after all), and he offered an arm for her to hold on to. After all, nobody wanted to get soaked... then end up missing a few days of school. Of course not.

Still, she didn’t fight him too hard when he decided they drop Krissy off first, the blonde girl barely holding back some comment as they left, still shaded under the same umbrella, and set off towards her own house. Nor did she when he stopped covering them at all, his hand instead finding hers as the rain went from a downpour and towards something more bearable.

The boots feel oddly bulky on her feet. She’s pouting down at the feeling, what with her being so accustomed to ballet slippers, after all, tugging at the laces one final time. Then again, she hasn’t done this in a while, not since the days when she was a girl and her ice skates were pretty much custom-made. And this... wasn’t something she could’ve planned for so far in advance.

Lee is watching her from the rink already, his smile broad as she stands up, slowly crosses over the few steps towards the gate. And he’s there in an instant, his gloved hands reaching for hers, the most familiar of touches only slightly made different by the feel of wool on wool. She breathes out, gives herself an extra second before she touches the ice with both skates, and then another to get used to the slippery surface. He looks pleased, as though he made the right call, which he really has. Even if he’s somewhat less graceful there than he would be on his own feet.

It only takes her a few laps before she’s going at it backwards, holding onto him so that he’s steady, even when younger kids overtake him at every turn. Although, somehow, she’s not entirely sure how much of his inability to skate is for her own benefit (or for the sake of simply holding hands, that is).

Cora is not particularly good at cooking. She can make basic foods, but growing up she and her mother primarily relied on microwaving foods or eating out. Still, that doesn’t stop her from occasionally wanting to cook things for Xavi - but when she does, she usually has to have help from Torrent so she doesn’t completely ruin or burn down anything.

Jac always feels the need to be directly in between Cora and Xavier whenever they share a bed, sit too close too each other… or whenever they do anything, really. Sometimes, Torr can lure Jac away and play with him to distract him and give Xavi and Cora some time alone if they want or need it. Jac just really loves having attention, and loves getting it from two people now rather than just from Cora.

physically, yes, i have lost a couple of friends who passed away. i have also lost a lot of friends bc we had a falling out or we grew apart, etc.

i wish i hadn’t gotten an engineering major?? like lol it’s 4 years too late, but i really wish i was able to major in something i genuinely and truly enjoyed or was passionate about. i grew to love civil/enviro engineering but i was still forced to be an engineering major, and my brain really isn’t....... naturally great with engineering, i guess. idk!!
