I have a newly hatched oddish that I've obtained by surprise, do you have any tips on keeping her leaves healthy? they seem so fragile! I've never had a grass type before so it's all so new to me
oh my gosh!! congratulations on your new friend!!!! oddish are really good first grass-types because they're very very hardy, so you're already off to a good start i bet!! the leaves are less fragile than you think they are but that doesn't mean it's not important to take care of them 馃崈 they don't require any particular special care beyond caring for the rest of your oddish though!
in the wild oddish will like to plant themselves underground so they can get nutrients out of the soil and grow big and strong! 馃尡 you should make sure you have a place for your oddish to bury itself, leaving just its leaves exposed. if you're stationary but don't have a yard, you can just use a bin full of dirt! since your oddish is newly hatched, make sure the soil is nice and soft so it's easy to dig in and, more importantly, dig out of; make sure your poor little baby doesn't get stuck!!! you can help out by getting started with a little hole, no more than half the size of your oddish's body, for it to start digging in.
as far as the soil goes, any soil good enough for growing will be good enough for your oddish鈥攍ike i said they're really hardy little guys!!! when i foster oddish i like to mix in the dirt with my compost, but you can just buy a bag of fertilizer and throw it into any old dirt. if you're on the move, as long as you're in safe places with other greenery, your oddish should be able to bury itself in there just fine and get the nutrients it needs! it's okay if there's a lot of variety to their diet since oddish thrive in all sorts of places!
you'll know that your oddish is doing well when its leaves are nice and glossy. if they start seeming brittle or dull, then you know you need to make sure you have richer soil for it! but like i said they aren't really that fragile! sometimes some of them will fall off, especially in the cooler seasons. that's okay and it's normal!!! if your oddish starts looking a little bare, though, or you're seeing more than one leaf every few weeks, you probably need a better diet regimen for your oddish, or it might even be sick.
i really like oddish!!! they're such cuties and they're sooo resilient. if you ever need more help with your new friend please let me know okay? i'd love to help out!!! 馃槉

you RB'd the ask game yesterday, but Lucky Egg, Apricorn, Moonblast, Shadow Ball :) - @duskballl
Lucky Egg: If I was forced to adhere to current gym standards, I'd say grass type. As for the specific team, all I know is that Truffle (my Breloom) and Bud (my Meganium, assuming I ever see him again...) would definitely be on the team.
Apricorn: I have a special spot in my heart for Carracosta. I had one named Crash back in my time studying abroad, he had a single concrete block for a brain but had a heart of gold.
Moonblast: Mimikyu is definitely my favorite fairy type. I used to have one named Eddie that absolutely pulled his weight on my team back in Paldea until.... anyways, yeah, love Mimikyu a lot!
Shadow Ball: The Golett line in general just fascinates me. Its wild to me that this pokemon was apparently created by humans at some point in the distant past, but we just forgot how to make it, I guess? Its one of my main subjects of study, and part of why I came back here to Unova! I plan on heading over to Dragonspiral tower to see if I could learn anything about their origins.
