1. Vải Cordura

Vải Cordura là gì? Vải Cordura là thương hiệu trong một bộ sưu tập gồm các loại vải thuộc sở hữu của công ty Invista có trụ sở tại Mỹ. Loại vải này được chứng nhận dùng để chế tạo hàng loạt các loại sản phẩm từ hành lý, balo, giày ống cho đến quần áo hiệu suất cao và quần áo quân sự.

Vải Cordura được công nhận về độ bền chắc, khả năng chống trầy xước và khó xé rách. Đây cũng được xem là một di sản quân sự lâu đời. Hiện nay các loại vải quân sự của Mỹ đều dựa vào thông số kỹ thuật về vải của Cordura.

2. Lịch sử phát triển của Cordura

Công ty DuPont là sở hữu ban đầu của vải Cordura đã giới thiệu loại vải này như một loại tơ nhân tạo (rayon). Trong chiến tranh thế giới thứ II, vải Cordura phát triển mạnh mẽ và được quân đội Mỹ đưa vào sử dụng để sản xuất lốp xe. Vào năm 1966, khi nylon tỏ ra vượt trội, thương hiệu Cordura đã dần thay thế sản phẩm của mình bằng chất liệu này.
