Imagine that Lance is the leader of the Obsidian Guard, but he really isn't part of the Guard of Eel (altogether) because he continues thinking that they're a such incompetents (and a fools, too). Lance only helps sometimes to repair the pain that he caused. He comes and goes of the city of Eel to Memoria, and now he was investigating the disappear of the island. And when he arrives, no one has inform him about the return of Erika and Leiftan. He just comes upon Erika in the corridors and he thinks that he's sleeping, he thinks that he has having a nightmare.
