Pine Lake Farewell: Moritz & Davenport
Frank had amazing success in his career, making it big in ballet almost immediately. Nosim who knew him was surprised: Frank’s unquenchable optimism plus ridiculous good luck always resulted in success. His dance club also became the hottest spot in Pine Lake, especially after the grand opening where Charlie Davenport made her big breakthrough.
Tumblr media
Charlie moved to the city shortly after the club's opening to pursue full-time songwriting and performing, but visited often to check on her used record shop.
Tumblr media
Frank finally persuaded her to go out with him, and they are now married, living in Pine Lake with their son. They both took a break to look after him, which gave Charlie the opportunity to write even more. She plans to get into the recording studio when he's a little older, and then go on tour with the new album. She and Frank talked about having another child, but they’re waiting until after the tour to decide for certain. Simoleons flow like water for the couple, so they donate regularly and generously to music and dance camps for youth.

Eowyn lived happily in the seniors home with her boyfriend, Joshua Ruben, until her relatively early death. She never retired, leaving big shoes to fill in the police department.
Tumblr media
Allegra thrived more in her senior years than she ever had in her life. Focused on painting, she started teaching classes for fun, and was a major influence on Jamal Bratford. She and Martin Ruben put past hurts behind them and married, remaining happily so for the rest of their days. Her relationship with Charlie also improved, and though she wished Charlie would visit more, Allegra fully supported her daughter pursuing the career she loved.

Natasha is very strict on her daughter’s bedtime...even though as a Plantsim, Erika doesn’t actually sleep. At least the kids have their grandparents and doting uncles to play with.

Kiera: Any new leads turn up yet?
Eowyn: Nothing yet. But don’t lose heart. The Pink Rabbit went underground. But he’ll pop his ears out eventually, and as soon as I hear about it, you’ll be the first I report to, Kiera.
Kiera: I really appreciate all your help in this, Eowyn.
Eowyn: Don’t mention it.
Ferdinand: Hey sis! It must be just about time for cake, right?

Kids her own age are cool and all, but the Sims Elise loves best are her grandparents. No one appreciates her super cool tricks like they do!

Frank heads home with a want for a party, so why not invite the family over and make it a housewarming party? With plenty of dancing, naturally.
Almeric: Frank, are you ever going to finish unpacking?
Kiera: Relax, dear, this is a party!

Frank: What do you think of my new look, Mum? Rad, right?
Eowyn: I think that you’re an adult now and don’t need my approval for appearance changes that affect you and have no reflection on my parenting.
Frank: So...you don’t like it?
Eowyn: Your hair, Frank--your beautiful hair! :(
Frank: Mum, it’s not like I went bald. I’m saving that for old age.

Last time with the Moritz household:
- Eowyn introduced her son to Joshua, her new boyfriend. (Frank was thrilled.) - Frank concocted a scheme to get Guy acquainted with Guy’s granddaughter. It worked, but it also got Kiera mad at him. (She later forgave him.)  - Eowyn grew into an elder and nearly died of a cold. Luckily Frank was able to save her. - Eowyn then moved into the seniors home and Frank is now on his own in an apartment.

Eowyn: Oh my goodness! Is that...?
Frank: Yes, Mum, it’s jewellery. But don’t get too excited; it’s for me.

Every outing with a Frost or Hart seems to turn into a big ol’ family reunion. Plus Leif.

Eowyn: You know, Frank, you’re a nice young man, and any girl would be lucky to know you. Speaking of nice young Sims, Sophronia Ruben is here. Why don’t you go upstairs and talk with her? Invite her to dinner somewhere.
Frank: For you? Sure, Mum.
Tumblr media
Frank: Sophronia, Sophronia, oh Sophroniaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Would yoooooooooouuuuu like to go to dinner with meeeeeeeeeeeeee?
Tumblr media
Joshua: What on earth is that infernal racket?
Tumblr media
Sophronia: Ah ah, make it stop!
Tumblr media
Sophronia: No! The answer is absolutely no, I will not go out with a terrible singer like you!
Tumblr media
Eowyn: Hoo boy.

End of summer for the seniors dating centre home.
I made some notes under the cut, as a few people expressed interest in trying this kind of elders-only set-up for themselves.
- Overall I had fun playing this household, but it wasn’t quite as fun as I was expecting. The couples paired off quickly and spent most of their time being happy together, which is cute, but not always exciting.
- It would have helped to have more Sims on the lot, hence why Ethan moved in at the end. I’m planning to have a few more elders join next round.
- The pets were cute, and I’m glad I added them, though I’d totally forgotten Bandit was expecting! The puppies were also cute, but they’ll fit in much better at the animal shelter.
- I was originally worried about having too many Sims on one lot, but that’s because I was thinking about adult Sims, who usually have to balance careers and finding love and starting families, which is a real juggling act with 4+ adults on one lot. With elders, it’s much easier because they’re already settled. They have more skills and money, and saving up for kids isn’t an issue anymore. So while some were at work just because they can, it would have been nice to have more around to entertain me with activities other than kissing all the darn time.
- Guy Wrightley will probably move in next time, which will add some much-needed drama. I think that’s what I’m most lacking in this household: a single who’s not looking to mingle. Or at least a wild card to spice up the lip-locked couples. And having Guy and Eowyn under the same roof again could definitely prove interesting!
- Having family visit was nice, but definitely needs to happen earlier in the day. Darn those parents and their fuss over bedtime!
- Space-wise, this was a decent lot. When more move in I’ll probably need to add another bedroom somewhere, but I can probably jiggle it in without too many major renos. It’s nice to have a spacious backyard, and even nicer when Sims actually use it! (I can’t believe I forgot a Myshuno! object though. That’s quintessential old folks’ home.) I think it’s a 3x3 lot and even when more move in it shouldn’t be too tight. Remind me to take floor plans if this gets out of the queue before I’ve done so.
- I’m considering adding a single adult or teen to this place as well to act as a live-in care aide/housekeeper. In real life these facilities are staffed and usually provide at least one meal a day, depending on residents’ independence. It could be an interesting dynamic, and would help give my elders more free time to smooch, but I’m also liking the elders-only setting. An expensive alternative is to hire a butler. It’s something to consider, anyway.
Those are all the thoughts I had while and after playing this lot. I enjoyed it overall and I think next time will be even more fun once I’ve made a few improvements. I’m open to suggestions, and would love to see/hear about your senior home adventures if you give it a try too! :D

Now that there are enough residents to make it worthwhile, it’s time to give the seniors home a play.

It turned out to be a good thing Sophronia wouldn’t take the puppies--I’d forgotten to invite Frank over to meet them first!
Frank: I can’t believe it! I’m a grandpa!
