i’d usually talk about how much he loves orchids, hibiscus, frangipani, and yellow tulips, but we’ll go for some deep cuts on three flowers that he really likes… pictures included. <: )

night life / night cap calla lilies. he really loves these… not by the bunch, cut. but by the pot. he likes to keep these on his vanity from october to the end of february. since his room is generally very blushy pink and shimmery, the darkness of these makes his little makeup / skincare space interesting. they’re just very beautiful to him and unusual!! i think he’d appreciate this in a way that if you gave him just one he’d press it into a bookmark or something.

hyacinth. usually seen this growing on virote’s rooftop. they’re very resilient flowers. they change colors depending on soil conditions. et cetera. they’re just gorgeous and he appreciates how they change with their conditions. they survive a lot of bullshit weather changes, too.

catmint. i always imagined he would have these growing right by the door of the building he lives in. these are resilient like hydrangea. :) actually when he’s kind of sick and needs a quick pick-me-up, he’ll use it for tea purposes.

now for a wedding bouquet, virote doesn’t really want flowers… he wants a really herb heavy bouquet. like he’ll have a couple roses and hydrangea but he’ll add a bunch of sage, mint, thyme, rosemary, oregano flowers, cilantro flowers, arugula flowers, and onion flowers. the romance of eating that later. like in a soup or something omg. romance is in the kitchen. romance is in the pot of broth. love is on the spoon.

⚠ i’m not writing virote in a domestic violence situation mostly because i don’t trust anyone enough to carry out something like that with a track record as long as mine. i’ve been there, i was a battered teenage bride-to-be. i was there for five whole years years. i’m well-seasoned. and while i’m not gonna cry over someone writing shit like that, i have a problem when it’s not handled the way it should be. write what you want, just handle it with the dignity it deserves.

i feel like i… shouldn’t talk about roses here, because there are other flowers to discuss when it comes to vi. roses are a given. he loves roses. about everyone loves roses, so??? let’s just skip that. :-) onward, to more choices

lavender. lavender will always hold a special place in his heart, i mean he keeps lavender on his vanity! just looking at it makes him feel at ease. the color, how pretty it is in a crystal vase. also the benefits to it!!! virote is an advocate for using flowers beyond decoration. herbal teas, as a tincture, to turn into bath products, hair oils. if he’s dating, he’ll rub a little lavender on his love’s pillow and dab a little oil right under his chin for a good night’s sleep. romantique!!!

hyacinth. theyre really unique, arent they? he likes these mostly because they make him think of his favorite aunt. always keeping these around her house. and theyre always pink! its not much deeper than nostalgia. but he really likes hyacinth for their aesthetics and the memories they invoke when he’d spend the night with cousins. u kno… the days when he was less stressed lmao.

the flowers from golden rain trees. thailand’s national flower that can be found growing along roadsides, in parks, in gardens, and in other public spaces. another nostalgia thing for him. always going back to childhood when it comes to flowers, its kind of thematic for him. and i guess in general he just misses thailand so whenever he goes at the end of the cool season, he makes sure to look at all of the ratchaphruek.

for a wedding bouquet? oh… im…. 👀👀👀👀👀 every time i think about this my mind changes gfdkljgdlgjkdf. my brain conjures so many bouquets with orange blossoms and mango leaves and roses and dried lavender and calla lilies. frangipani!!! an orchid or two. moon flowers and jasmine.
