Domestic cooking gas cylinder to cost over Rs. 1,000 after the latest hike!!!
This Thursday, the domestic cooking gas LPG (Liquefied Petroleum gas) has been increased by Rs. 3.50 per cylinder. This is the second hike in May taking LPG price above the Rs. 1,000 mark. The non-subsided cooking gas now costs Rs. 1,003 per 14.2kg cylinder in the national capital.
The hike comes on the back of an Rs. 50 per cylinder increase effected on 7th May. Before this, the prices were raised by the same amount on 22nd March. In just less than 2 months, the price of cooking gas cylinder has gone up by more than Rs. 100.
On 1st May, the prices of the commercial LPG cylinder of 19kg has been raised by Rs.102.50, and now the new price of the cylinder is Rs.2,355.50. In Delhi, the 19Kg commercial cylinder now cost Rs.2,355,50 while the price in Mumbai of the same commercial cylinder is 2,307 Rs.  The costs of the cylinders vary across different cities because of the value-added tax and other taxes incurred by the state government.
After the hike in the cost of LPG cylinders is Rs. 1,002 in Mumbai and Rs. 1,029 in Kolkata and Rs. 1,009 in Chennai. Both the prices of the LPG and fuel have been hiked several times since the assembly election results of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Goa, and Punjab were declared on 10th March. Last time, the fuel prices were hiked on 6th April when the petrol and diesel rates were increased by 80 paise each. After the assembly election results, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by Rs.10 in total.
The price hike in the gas cylinders comes when fuel rates are above 100 Rs. Per liter mark in the several states. The rates are continued to rise against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war and global supply concerns.

Exploring the Future: Tata Nexon CNG's Potential Impact on the Sub-Compact SUV Market
In recent months, Tata Motors unveiled the eagerly awaited Nexon facelift and the electric Nexon EV facelift, showcasing innovative design and segment-first features. However, keen observers noted the absence of a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) variant. This article explores the intriguing possibility of Tata Nexon embracing CNG technology, examining its potential impact on the sub-compact SUV market.
A video shared online fueled speculation as the Nexon EV's instrument cluster featured an unexpected CNG bar. While it may be dismissed as a coding glitch, it hints at Tata Motors considering a Nexon CNG variant.
Tata's Strategic Vision:
Shailesh Chandra, MD of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles & Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, hinted at CNG's significance in the future, potentially overshadowing diesel engines. This aligns with the anticipation of a Nexon CNG variant hitting the market.
In the limited sub-compact SUV CNG market, currently dominated by the Brezza, the Nexon's twin-cylinder technology could potentially offer the convenience of CNG without sacrificing significant boot space.
Tata Nexon CNG – What to Expect:
The prospect of a Tata Nexon CNG variant raises questions about engine options. One interesting possibility is introducing CNG for the turbo petrol engine, a move yet to be explored by any manufacturer in India. Alternatively, Tata might consider leveraging the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine from the Altroz CNG and Punch CNG.
The anticipated Nexon CNG variant is likely to come with a price hike, ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh over similarly specced petrol variants. Currently, the pricing for the Nexon CNG starts from Rs 9.55 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.72 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
When Can We Expect the Nexon CNG?
As enthusiasts await the arrival of the Nexon CNG, the anticipated launch date is projected to be within the next 6 to 8 months. This aligns with the growing market demand for eco-friendly and economical fuel options.
Regional Availability and Consumer Considerations:
The question on many Delhi-based consumers' minds is, "Is Tata Nexon available in CNG in Delhi?" The potential for Tata to cater to the CNG market in Delhi is substantial, considering the city's focus on cleaner transportation alternatives.
Potential buyers are keen to understand not just technical specifications but also how this move aligns with changing consumer preferences. The Nexon CNG could emerge as a compelling choice, balancing performance with environmental responsibility.
Market Dynamics and Comparative Analysis:
The introduction of a CNG variant would position the Tata Nexon strategically in a market where sustainability is gaining paramount importance. Compared to its counterparts, especially considering the Brezza's dominance in the sub-compact SUV CNG space, the Nexon CNG promises not only superior space but potentially a unique engine offering.
Tech Innovation and Environmental Impact:
The prospect of a turbo petrol CNG engine in the Nexon signifies a leap in technological innovation. Tata's potential execution could redefine the landscape, pushing the boundaries of what is traditionally expected in this market segment. Beyond market dynamics and consumer preferences, the introduction of the Tata Nexon CNG holds promise for a positive environmental impact.
Tumblr media
Implications for Future Models:
The anticipated success of the Nexon CNG could set a precedent for other models within Tata's lineup. If the market responds positively, we may see a ripple effect, prompting the exploration of CNG options in other popular models, contributing to a more sustainable automotive future.
Closing Thoughts on Tata Nexon CNG:
The Tata Nexon CNG is not just a potential addition to a product lineup; it represents a strategic move towards a greener automotive future. With consumers increasingly seeking eco-friendly alternatives without compromising on performance and space, the Nexon CNG has the potential to be a game-changer in the sub-compact SUV segment.
As we await official announcements regarding its availability in Delhi, pricing details, and the confirmed launch date, the Tata Nexon CNG remains a topic of anticipation and speculation. The automotive landscape is evolving, and Tata Motors' foray into the CNG space could mark a significant chapter in the brand's journey, resonating with a new generation of conscious and discerning consumers.
In conclusion, the Tata Nexon CNG is not just a variant; it's a statement—a statement about Tata Motors' commitment to sustainability, innovation, and meeting the evolving needs of the Indian automotive market. Watch this space for more updates as the Nexon CNG prepares to roll onto the roads, potentially changing the way we perceive and embrace eco-friendly driving.

Food Extrusion Market to Record Steady Growth by 2026
The global food extrusion market is estimated to be valued at USD 73.1 billion in 2021. It is projected to reach USD 99.7 billion by 2026, recording a CAGR of 6.4% during the forecast period. The demand for ready-to-Eat (RTE) snack foods is growing due to their convenience, nutrition value, attractive appearance, taste, and texture. Cereal-based extruded snacks are the most commonly consumed snacks. Extruders blend diverse ingredients to develop novel snack foods. The quality of the final product depends on the processing conditions used during extrusion, which include the composition of the raw materials, feed moisture, barrel temperature, screw speed, and screw configuration.

Drivers: Increase in demand for processed product types
The food extrusion market is primarily driven by the growth of the processed food industry. The changing lifestyles and high disposable incomes of the population have led to an increased demand for ready-to-eat product types as they help save time and effort. Additionally, the demand for processed product types from the urban population of developing economies is expected to subsequently drive the demand for food extrusion equipment. The rising per capita income and the increasing trend of snacking between meals are also fueling the demand for extruded product types. Consumer preferences in emerging economies such as China, India, Brazil, and the Middle East have gradually transitioned from traditional homemade breakfasts and snacking meals to ready-to-eat products over the last couple of decades.
Restraints: Volatility of raw material prices
Changes in climatic conditions across the globe have reduced the production of raw materials, such as potatoes, corn, and tapioca. Snack pellet manufacturers suffer a shortage of raw material supply and are unable to meet the rising demand. Due to the volatility factor, the prices of other raw materials, such as wheat and vegetable oil, vary by more than 40%, along with the fluctuation of natural gas by more than 25%. In addition to this, the high price of snack pellet ingredients, such as binding agents and savory flavors, also act as a restraint. Due to a hike in the pricing of raw materials used for snack pellets, manufacturers are experiencing a declining trend in their profit margins.

Single screw extruder has uniform expansion of raw materials
A single screw extruder consists of a live bin, feeding screw, preconditioning cylinder, extruder barrel, die, and knife. It uses one single screw in the barrel of the extruder to transport and shape multiple ingredients into a uniform product type by forcing the ingredient mix through a shaped die to produce a uniform shape. Single screw extruders typically consist of three zones: feeding zone, kneading zone, and the cooling zone. In contrast to twin screw extruders, single screw extruders have poor mixing ability, owing to which the materials are required to be pre-mixed or preconditioned.
The European region dominated the food extrusion market.
The presence of a developed snack food market offers the European food extrusion market a prominent consumer base with opportunistic growth prospects. The growth of the food industry in this region is estimated to be driven by increasing consumption of processed product types in the Eastern & Southeastern European countries. Increasing consumption of snack product types in this region has also compelled manufacturers to source extruded snack products from other parts of the world for an uninterrupted supply of raw materials, as domestic production is not sufficient to meet the demand from the food industry of Europe.

LPG Gas Prices Increased by Rs 101.50 – Check the Latest Rates
The government-owned oil companies have initiated an upward revision in the prices of gas cylinders starting today. In the most recent update, the cost of commercial LPG cylinders has surged by Rs 101.50.
delhis-air-quality-woes-continue-very-poor-conditions-persist/
However, it’s worth noting that there has been no change in the pricing of domestic LPG cylinders. Additionally, in the latest move, the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) has decreased by approximately Rs 1074 per kiloliter (KL). This marks the third consecutive reduction in ATF prices.
Key Highlights:
OMCs (Oil Marketing Companies) have scaled down the costs of aviation fuel, putting a halt to a streak of three successive price hikes.
The ATF price reduction, effective immediately, aims to offer some respite to aviation companies.

Despite this development, it’s important to mention that airfares are unlikely to see any substantial decrease, as fares have remained elevated due to robust demand. Notably, the leading carrier, IndiGo, has imposed a fuel surcharge.
As we continue to embrace the festive season, the price increase for commercial LPG cylinders becomes evident. Oil Marketing Companies have decided to raise the prices of 19kg commercial LPG cylinders, resulting in a significant hike of Rs 101.50 starting today.

It’s important to emphasize that while commercial LPG cylinders become more expensive, the pricing for domestic LPG cylinders remains unaltered.
Current Prices for 19KG LPG Cylinders in Metro Cities:

[ad_1] Jet fuel price has been hiked by the steepest-ever 14 per cent - the third straight increaseNew Delhi: Jet fuel or ATF price on Friday was hiked by the steepest-ever 14 per cent - the third straight increase, while the commercial cooking gas rate was cut by Rs 157.5 per cylinder in line with divergent trends in international benchmarks.Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price was increased by Rs 13,911.07 per kilolitre, or 14.1 per cent, in the national capital to Rs 1,12,419.33 per kl, according to a price notification of state-owned fuel retailers.Rates, which vary from state to state depending on the incidence of local sales tax or VAT, have been increased on firming up of global prices in the last couple of months. The hike comes on the back of an 8.5 per cent or Rs 7,728.38 per kl increase effected from August 1. Prior to that, rates had gone up by 1.65 per cent or Rs 1,476.79 per kl on July 1.In three increases, ATF prices have gone up by a steep Rs 23,116.24 per kl. On the other hand, the price of commercial LPG, used in establishments such as hotels and restaurants, was reduced by Rs 157.50 per cylinder.A 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs Rs 1,522.50 in the national capital. The reduction comes on the back of a Rs 100 per cylinder cut effected from August 1.Saudi contract price (CP), the benchmark used for pricing of LPG, has reduced since peaking in March and the same is reflected in domestic prices, industry officials said.Globally, jet fuel prices have increased in line with the firming up of global crude oil prices, necessitating the hike in ATF rates. The price of domestic LPG -- used in the kitchen for cooking purposes -- remained unchanged at Rs 903 per 14.2-kg cylinder in the national capital.Rates were last cut by Rs 200 on August 30.State-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise cooking gas and ATF prices on the 1st of every month based on the average international price in the previous month.Petrol and diesel prices continued to remain on freeze for a record 17th month in a row. Petrol costs Rs 96.72 per litre in the national capital and diesel comes for Rs 89.62 per litre.State-owned fuel retailers are supposed to revise petrol and diesel prices daily based on a 15-day rolling average of benchmark international fuel prices but they haven't done that since April 6, 2022.Prices were last changed on May 22, when the government cut excise duty to give relief to consumers from a spike in retail rates that followed a surge in international oil prices. (Except for the headline, this story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.)
