there he stood, the middle brother out of the three before the youngest. a slight frown upon his face while arms folded to his chest. already aware his brother had yet to be the best, at the top of of the dueling world. of course there were no shortcuts, but it also meant there was time for him to get there.

“haven’t been losing as of late?” he asked, staring down with a somewhat irritated tone. although he knew how busy chousaku was with his work, there were times when he was off to check in, but for the time being, it was just him. perhaps jun should be thankful the middle sibling was lenient than the eldest. “i had expected good things when sending you to this school, i don’t want the family name to be let down, again.” he hissed, he wasn’t going to grab his brother’s shirt. what point was there in that?

there was a pause after, a light exhale escaped his lips “now jun, you understand why we’re doing this, don’t you? this is for your own good...our own good.” he corrected, “do you honestly believe failure is an option? the ones we are letting down aren’t ourselves, i’m sure you remember that.” at least, it was what shouji believed, this was for their family, he didn’t want their parents to be ashamed, even if their relationship wasn’t the best, he nor chousaku was going to disown or leave him behind, they weren’t heartless.

it wasn’t like him to snoop through other people’s things intentionally. he actually had respect for people’s privacy. well, for the most part. chazz just happened to leave the thing out on full display, so hey, curiosity to the cat, there’s no way he couldn’t read it now. it’d just be cruel. and that’s just how chazz finds him, leaning against the dorm walls with his legs crossed and book in hand. aster doesn’t try to hide it either, because why would he? he wouldn’t have committed the act unless he was prepared to get caught.

‘ you know this isn’t the first time my names been in someone else's diary before, but I’m still honoured. were you going to put hearts around it too? ’ he waves the diary, clearly intent on teasing the other. now, the real question was had chazz written more about him that he hadn’t gotten to yet?

(Unfortunately, Kaiba didn't have any experience with naming animals outside of remembering Duel Monster card names, so...) "For you? Hm. It's a shame the Armed Dragon line doesn't give any good name options. Maybe Delta." After Ojama Delta Hurricane.

"That would be..." Had he ever? No-- Yes, he had. A long time ago, obviously. He flicked his gaze back down to Princeton. "... Nine years ago. Some kids threw one of Mokuba's toys up there, and I had to get it down for him."

Just remembered that nine years wasn’t the same for Princeton as it was for him, but he wouldn’t acknowledge it. Totally meant to be cryptic!
