my favorite part of watching older anime series is when you get to the episode where they finally update the aspect ratio to fit more modern wide screens because it makes me feel like i travelled back in time because i see it and go :0!!! holy shit!!! look at how big that screen is!! despite most things i watch already having a modern widescreen aspect ratio

#me seeing a new technology from two decades ago: have yall seen this shit? #i love it SO much #the confusion i feel when clicking on a new episode and not seeing my fav lil black bars on either side of the screen #to the realization that we updating to CLASSY widescreen💅 #i take joy where i can get it okay #been watching inuyasha and stopped last week since i didn’t have time for it while at my parents #finally came back to it today at ep 121 #which is the first one where they switch the aspect ratio lol #had a perfect rendition of surprise pikachu face as soon as i saw it #i LOVE longer older anime series because they’re like little time capsules showing the growth of animation and technology #like!!! look at them go!!!! #naruto is SO good for it since it spanned such a long period #and shippuden flashes back to og naruto a LOT #like actual naruto ep 1 versus the flashbacks to it right after the waterfall of truth stuff #actually went insane #and this is with so so SO much love to older animation #it’s got so much personality and charm and UGH but also i LOVE seeing them do more ambitious things as time spanned and budget increased #sorry for the lil rant i just had to be insane about this somewhere #my posts
