I don't personally feel like hand-touching would be an inherently sexual thing to Vulcans. I would assume it to be a situationally sexual/romantic thing, like human hugs, or Vulcan mind melds.

On a related note, mind melding is used as a sexual innuendo quite frequently, especially in TOS, though not always so.

(if you rewatch Dagger of the Mind, when it's first introduced... Hoo boy, the innuendo is surprisingly strong)

#ramble #sttos #i know some people want to read into every other hand-to-hand but #i feel like that diminishes the impact of scenes like the one in ST:TMP #just imo #and the one in Wrath of Khan obviously #and obvs theres a difference between like #innuendos intended to be read between two characters and just general innuendos intended by writers to be noticed by the audience #if that makes sense #in other words im not implying that Spock wanted to fuck that guy in dagger of the mind #just that the act of mind melding itself has some parallels to sex that the viewer obviously will notice #star trek was racy like that
